PROLOGUE : 

before the two officially met each other, the grandpas showed the pictures of one another. when xie en first saw sanghyuk's picture, the impression she got was : this is a fine man in such young age. with her naive mind, she announced her winning to xie yi, said that it was xie yi's lost that she got to married han sanghyuk.

in the other hand, sanghyuk too, felt like zhao xie en was a nice, elegant, and calm girl (based on her picture). he didn't know that it took almost a whole day for xie en to get that picture (and xie yi's getting frustated since she was the one who asked to take the picture).

as the two agreed, they both went to several dates. sanghyuk pretended being a nice gentleman. he was so soft and charming that xie en was so sure she finally met her prince charming. while xie en tried her best to act like an elegant lady so sanghyuk thought the idea of getting married with this stranger woman wasn't a bad thing as well.

on their fourth date, following what his grandfather said, sanghyuk took xie en to lotte department store's food court. out of the blue, he just knelt down and pulled out a ring box.
"i know we just met a month ago and we haven't know each other too well. but i can't imagine growing old with anyone else, nor do i want to. so... zhao xie en, would you marry me?"
the words was made by his grandfather. all the visitors went wild and cheer for the couple but xie en's reaction was...
"oh my gosh..."
then she ran away. it was too cringey and... embarassing. leaving sanghyuk who stood up and agaped for awhile before ran away, too.
later xie en made a phone call to sanghyuk :
"sanghyuk-ssi..."
"oh now you're calling after embarassing me in front of the whole foodcourt."
"i just want to say... what? wait, did you just blame me for what happened?"
"yes."
"but it was your fault!"
"how could it was my fault? you were the one who just ran away without saying a word."
"diew lei! you're the one who proposed suddenly... in front of strangers. can you imagine how i felt that time?"
"nope. my grandpa said you should be flattered actually. and what you said? diew what?"
"and how could you arrange what i suppose to feel??? ban jau!"
"stop saying weird things in your language!!"
"and stop shouting!"
"..."
"..."
"so would you marry me or no?"
"... yes... that was i want to tell you earlier."
"okay then it's set up."
actually, at that time they felt something was off. maybe their partner wasn't as perfect as they imagined. but they shrugged it off, though and... married six months after the weird proposal.

the wedding was held in a well-known hotel with all red since they use traditional chinese wedding ceremony. all of their family member and friends came. they were still adore each other like they first met since they were still in their pretending mode. everyone believed, they were that cute couple which destined for each other.

EPILOGUE : 

right after the wedding ended, felt like they didn't need to put on a facade anymore, sanghyuk back to his real state. the cold ruthless man who listed do(s) and don't(s) for their marriage. xie en was surprised at how different his husband was. so she put off her mask as well and spoke up to him, sanghyuk dumbfounded. knew they won't be the ideal couple expected by both family, they agreed to look for an apartment as soon as they back from their honeymoon.

the honeymoon wasn't a beautiful memories either for them. except for those pretty places they went to. the two always argues even for the most minor reasons. it still happened until now though.
"we need to make a rule that will save us i swear. is that if you say no to one place then you have to offer another. your only participation can't be criticism."
"but it's yours, men's job, to decide everything."
"aren't women always says gender equality?"
"not for me. i like it better when my hubby does everything a man should. imma just a fragile and weak lady though."
"i can't stand with this bull..."
"chuckdeela! what did you say??"
"stop with that random language!"
"siblings should never fighting..."
"she is not my sister."
"it would be a curse if i have a brother like him."
"friends?"
"nope."
"no."
"a couple, maybe?"
"why would i have a barbaric girlfriend like her?"
"i would never dating him of course!"
"so... you two are strangers? be careful. old people say those who fight a lot maybe end up bound in a red string..." then the stranger look at their wedding ring. "oh you two are married indeed?... may god bless your marriage."
living with them means you will hear a scream and shout every single day. but there are also times when xie en being extremely clingy that sanghyuk couldn't say a word. clingy xie en is the cutest thing he ever seen. besides, spending much times together makes them realize, they might not the sweetest couple in the world. in fact, they were strangers. but this string grown an affection between them. instead of lover, they'd call themself as bestfriend as they can talk and argue about anything.

good thing they have their own schedule so they don't have to see each other 24/7. on weekdays, xie en wakes up at around 6 am for light stretches and preparing breakfast plus lunch box for her husband. also even though she never put a make up on, she knows she takes very long time getting ready. as sanghyuk would always already departs to his office, she usually take a bus ride to the restaurant. her work hour starts from 10 am to 7 pm. after her work ends, she usually comes to sanghyuk's bring some food and give them to his subordinates. or when she could steal enough times, she'd make a special dish and give them to sanghyuk's boss (yes she learn how to apple-polish from her hubby, he said if he could promoted to higher position then he'd give her more money for her shopping hobby). if she too tired, then she'd go straight home. at home, she makes an effort to finish all of the house chores before dinner.

for sanghyuk, he wakes up at 6.15, take a shower, brush his teeth, eat breakfast, pick an outfit for the day, read newspaper with a cup of coffee and departs at 7.15 with his car. he usually arrives at the office at 7.30 altough the work actually starts at 8. sanghyuk has a few friends that he meets with every days during his lunch (he prefers xie en's packed lunch over food provided by the company as he thinks his wife's are much tastier), but that's the extent of his 'going out'. he will never go drink after work or go to karaoke with them. he usually gets home at 8, he'll most likely take a bath and eat dinner before knocking out on bed for a good hour. extra task (which for unknown reasons he always have) usually done at around midnight. he'll sleep after all of his work done.

on weekends, they will spend their days in their apartment or go to their parents'. sometimes, the parents will visit them to make sure everything alright. once in a while, xie en will hang out with her sister.

their constant arguments might tired them out at some point. but not also that, their own bad flaws might be the biggest obstacles on the young couple's marriage.

altough xie en often gets on his nerve, still, she is his wife so sanghyuk eventually care for her. he once came to the sichuan basin and hate the fact that the owner treat xie en badly. not to mention, they also gave poor salary. he asked xie en to resign since the payment he got every month is actually enough for them. xie en refused, said she want to work because it's boring for her to just stay on their apartment. so as the exchange, sanghyuk ask her to make her own as he remember xie en ever said she want to have her own resto. his savings are more than enough for him buy a little small for her. too bad xie en isn't a good planner. all she does is just dream without any effort to make it come true. sanghyuk would be like "how to help a person when they do no effort in helping themselves? screw them." also the two have different way of thinking. xie en use her heart more than her mind, the total opposite of sanghyuk. can you imagine how often they fight because of this?

on the other side, xie en thought she already gave her best in becoming her version of 'good wife'. yes they argue a lot but still she does her duty. she takes care of him nicely. but she felt like sanghyuk never appreciate her. even a simple 'thanks' never come out of his mouth. at first, due to her carefree nature, she thought it was nothing. but as time goes on, she think it is a big problem. sanghyuk himself realized that. too bad he can't express his feelings well. the result? he always act coldly and ignorant towards his wife.

COUPLE TRIVIA :
✤ got married on april 12th 2020
✤ was went to guangdong for their honeymoon. that was when they first having as well (they simply did that out of curiousity). next time sanghyuk said they have to visit miami but when will they go for another one still remains mistery. he is too busy with his work
✤ movie night are their things though most of the times they'd watching narnia or harry potter because of xie en
✤ sanghyuk's playlist is heaven. that's why xie en likes to steal one of her earbud whenever he listening to songs
✤ eventhough xie en and sanghyuk haven't know each other very well, if one of them tries to hide something, the other will know. they can tell when something's off about the other, even if it's not noticeable. since being a psychology graduate, sanghyuk could notice every little detail. but even though he's ahead, you can't underestimate xie en and her women's intuition.
✤ rarely hang out with each other outside the apartment building. mainly because of their different wants. xie en likes outdoor places like amusement park so she could show off them being lovey dovey in front of others while sanghyuk enjoys private places more.
✤ the two were never dating with anyone else before. funny thing, even they once thought they were aromantic.
✤ will only behave like a romantic couple whenever their parents and sanghyuk's collagues (he doesn't want to ruin his perfect image in the office) are around. other than that... they'll curse and even strangles each other's neck (literally; sometimes).
✤ on their sweet couple mode, they'll act like those lovey dovey couple which would make you throw up. 
✤ on her clingy day, xie en would hug sanghyuk the whole day. the only times she would let go of him are just bathing and eating time.
✤ would build a pillow tower in the middle of their bed every single night. says the other can't across the other's. but most of the times it'll ruined by themselves actually.
✤ sanghyuk doesn't like the idea xie en asking around about other couples' bed thingy. it's embarassing for him but... the girl just can't stop. and she will ask him to do that whenever she gets something from her 'research'.
"did you ask people around about that ing style and position?"
"yes."
"i don't understand why did you do that?"
"just because..."
"were our... you know... eum i mean... did i not satisfy you?"
"nope."
"SO WHY?"
"gosh stop screaming! i just want to know..."
"you can look for them in internet or...reading some books. should i buy some for you?"
"ye.."
"on second thought no, i won't. that's embarassing."
"but... isn't that normal? i mean... gege, we're just married for couple of months. geez... it's okay i think to ask around to them who has more experience than us..."
"i... just can't understand the way you think."
✤ but in the end he will always do what xie en said though.
✤ no matching outfit nor things. xie en asks once. and they eventually wore it once. but then decide it was too cringey so they shove them away.
✤ there is also no wedding picture hanging on their apartment room. again, it's too cringey plus their smile looks obviously faked. it was saved on an empty room they used as a storeroom. only hanged when their parents or again sanghyuk's colleagues come.
✤ the code to their apartment room is '6666'. no particular reason. sanghyuk said once it was devil number because a devil live in it.
✤ when they come to the apartment event or anything that required all the couples come : xie en is that chatty neighbor who will ask a lot (what is privacy?) while there sanghyuk stand in the corner watching his wife in headache assuming what crazy idea she will suggest when the night come.

"she's like a mom who will take care of me really well. she's a sister who would whines and mad whenever you reject her wish. she's a cute girlfriend who will cling onto you for whole day. she's a wife who'd greet you with a warm smile whenever you get home. she's a bestfriend who will always support you no matter what. she's everything to me... yet i can't say a single nice word to her."
