Taehee goes for jeans paired with blouses or simple tees with jackets. Her tops are usually a bit on the loose side and they come in an array of colors. Skirts and heels are something she avoids as she's not keen in running around in them due to her always being in a rush so she opts for sneakers or flats. On some days, she's a power office lady in a suit as she makes heads turn while she's hurrying towards whatever meeting but on the usual, she has that chic girl crush vibes. Makeup wise, she goes for a light look just to cover up signs that she hasn't slept well in forever. 

After going official with Jaebum, Taehee decides to dye her hair just a little bit because she's a little too excited and wants to celebrate. Ends up going with a dark green dye. (Kang Seulgi's psycho era hairstyle!)

Excusing herself from the swarm of people, she heads straight to the people at the back and sits down next to them. "So, is it alright if I group with you guys? You're one person short and I could use some fresh faces. I'll make a KKT group so...IDs?"
diligent. Taehee takes out her notebook and starts scribbling about main points for their project, "We have to take into account with the budget and what our client wants. They have a young kid so we have to make sure everything is child-proof and safe. Just in case - I think we should talk to the client again so we can get a better description of what they want, right?"
bold. Taehee raises up her hand and everyone holds their breath, the lecturer was known for being quite strict and disliked being interrupted. "Excuse me, ma'am but I think you need to slow down a bit. Everyone's having a hard time catching up on the slides by how fast you're going," she says with a bright smile, unfazed by how the lecturer had glared at her.
temperamental. "So, why aren't you with your named person?" This stranger comes up to Taehee just as the girl is finishing up her drink. This 'stranger danger!' points to Taehee's neck and Taehee swats their hand away. "Stop meddling in other people's business," she warns and stands up, leaving the cafe in a huff. 
judgemental. "Why this color? I mean, it doesn't fit with theme and the color scheme they were going for. The furniture placement is off and it doesn't even fit the description the client wanted. It's trash," Taehee muttered as she looked over the pictures, her words clear for all her team mates. Talk about harsh woman...
perfectionist. "Taehee, what about this one?" He shows Taehee the picture and Taehee shakes her head. "No, no, no. Not that. It's not perfect enough. The lightning is off and I don't like the placement - I need to change some things," Taehee moves to push the furniture and adjust the frames a little more. They've been taking pictures for an hour and still, Taehee isn't satisfied.     

 

 

 

Taehee was the only child born from the couple, Kang Taepyung and Kim Hana. Born with a silver spoon in , Taehee was expected to become the perfect lady she is today. Her parents expected nothing short but perfect from her which is why Taehee grew to become someone obsessed with perfection.

While at first Taehee attended a public middle school and gained plenty of close friends, her parents decided to move her to a prestigious private high school when they noticed her grades were dropping although it was only slightly. They thought it was for the best for Taehee's future despite how she begged them to just let her enrol to a public one as she promised her friends.

However, as soon as Taehee finished high school - she signs up for a diferent university than what her parents had in mind and took up a course different than what they wanted her to do. She moves out of her parents home and moves into a small studio apartment with the help of her uncle.

Now living on her own and doing what she's interested in, Taehee determined to let herself be in charge of her own fate.

   Taehee doesn't have a nice loving relationship with her father due to how much of a workaholic he is and the fact that he's married to his job. He dropped all contact with Taehee ever since she entered university and doesn't seem to be interested in mending it.

    Same as her father, Taehee has a strained relationship with her mother. Her mother ,at least, still contacts her from time to time and asks if they could have lunch together. Taehee still finds it awkward around her but appreciates how her mother is trying to bond with her.

    Taehee had always been close to Hyunmin and dare say, Taehee thinks of him as a father figure rather than her own father. He's a very kind and adventurous man who's drastically different than Taepyung who's strict and cold. He helped Taehee move to her current apartment and checks up on her from time to time to make sure she's doing well on her own. Perhaps it's because they're both the only "named" in their family that made them able to understand each other better. Runs a fried chicken restaurant.

   Sooyoung has been friends with Taehee ever since they met in middle school. They managed to keep in contact throughout high school despite attending different schools. They made a pact to attend the same university which they currently are with Sooyoung majoring in graphic designs. They meet up daily and hangout just as much, typically crashing at Taehee's place. Taehee and Jaebum don't know this but Sooyoung's the reason why they're in the same university - she managed to convince both of them to attend their current uni without knowing that the other is there. It was all thanks to assigned seating did these two even meet in the first place during middle school. Taehee never liked being around the opposite gender considering how boys were 'rude' and 'immature' at that age but Jaebum quickly took a liking to Taehee the moment she introduced herself once they were told to sit next to each other. At first, Taehee was a little hostile towards him since that's how she was around boys at the time. However, over time, Jaebum proved to be a good friends to have close by.

Where Taehee was strict and obedient, Jaebum was always the one to coax her into having some fun instead of being buried in her books and schoolwork all the time. He helped introduce her to his other friends and they all started hanging out by going to the mall, stopping by the arcade, eating some greasy food that her parents surely wouldn't let her, or even just picking out comics from the comic book store. Jaebum and Taehee just seemed to work well with together despite how different they appeared, they always managed to find middle ground and learn something about each other.

When Sooyoung dropped the bomb that Taehee wouldn't be able to attend the same high school as them during their first day, Jaebum was saddened at the fact since he had grown close to Taehee. Texting her wasn't the same as seeing and meeting her in real life so for his first year in high school, Jaebum had to deal with the usual 'I miss Taehee' hours.

Still, around this time both of them only thought of each other as good friends - no romantic feelings involved. So it was only natural for them to start dating different people. So it came as a shocker when the names that appeared weren't who they were hoping it'd be (they were hoping it would be their then respective partners).

And the whole "named" thing caused a huge fight between Jaebum and Taehee since Taehee found out last while Jaebum had known earlier on. She got mad at him for not telling and he refuted back with, "What was I supposed to say? Hey, I'm your soulmate??? How would you reatc, huh? Would you have believed me then?" It was a heated fight over a 2-hour long phone call which ultimately ended with both of them agreeing that they wanted to remain with their current partners.

They refused to contact each other since then and only met each other when university began - surprised when they accidentally ran into each other. It's terribly awkward at first until Sooyoung ropes them into agreeing to meet for coffee for old times sake just to ditch them so they can talk privately. And finally after years of silence, they manage to patch things up between them.

 

In hopes to mend their friendship and catch up what they've missed about each other, they start to hangout frequently with Jaebum showing his short animation pieces, his sketches and Taehee showing him her interior design works. They realize they still have that spark between them that they had in middle school - only now is that, they realised what it means.

He would be there to listen to her as she worried over her "it's not perfect!" thoughts and she's one of the only people who can calm down his aggressive tendencies when they appear or when hes stressing about his classes. Of course, they start to depend on each other and find that they're the only ones who can understand each other the best.

Fate seemed to really want them to be together and this time, they won't run away from each other. 5 years is already a long time to wait so they're quick to pick up from where they left off.

 the day that started it  

17, what a year- The idea of being "named" never occured to her since both of her parents were unnamed and most of relatives were unnamed as well. She didn't like to ponder on the ideas of "what ifs" so she never, not even once, thought of herself being a "named". 

It was a couple weeks after her birthday did the name appear and she remembers how she screamed when she saw it. She took some soap and tried to scrub it away, thinking she was hallucinating when she clearly wasn't. And it was horrible since she was already with someone at the time and unfortunately, it's not his name that's inked onto her skin.

When the letter came a few days after, Taehee didn't even want to read it since she couldn't believe the name that had appeared. Taehee didn't open it until Sooyoung arrived, holding her best friend as she read over the letter. It took a long time for Taehee to accept the fact that she was a "named".

 the day that started it their pov  

The name appeared on the day of his birthday and the letter came a few days later. His older sister had pointed it out when he went out for breakfast, being excited when she saw that her younger brother was "named" as well. 

"It's.. Oh! It's a 'Kang Taehee'. That's the name written," Nara told him and his eyes had widened in surprise. He thought at first that it could be another 'Kang Taehee' which was one of the reasons he decided not to let Taehee know and the fact that he had a girlfriend he was very much in love with was also another main reason.

He didn't like the fact that he was "named" which is why he covers up the name with foundation every day - not wanting other people to see it. He doesn't like that it's already decided who he should be with because shouldn't he be free to choose?

So, for a long time - Jaebum wouldn't admit that he was "named". This changes after he reunites with Taehee and after a while, he accepts that he's "named" and decides to not cover up the ink anymore.

 

 

 

 

 so, who knows? who knows that you're named?  "Um," Jaebum starts thinking, "Only my parents, my older sister and my close friends did I tell. But since it's at an obvious spot, some people see it, I guess. But I don't go telling everyone." 

 

 is there a reason why you told them?  "I didn't tell them," Jaebum chuckles, "My sister spotted it first so she told my parents. I only told some of my friends after I broke up with my previous girlfriend... It was just time I told them the truth."

 

 what are your feelings towards the opposite party?  "Oh - To be honest, for the longest time, I envied "unnamed" people. Because you know, at least you aren't stuck with a name and guilt if you're not with your dedicated other. But... I've changed my mind for the past few years. I don't envy them anymore or anything, just neutral now."
