Background:
Growing up as one of the younger ones, most of Jeongyeong's memories are of the older siblings taking care of them due to their parents being mostly busy. The sound of Insoo scolding them to [2nd eldest] babying the younger ones and Jeongyeong happily taking the role as the 'cook' of the house when she reaches 12 years old, trusthworthy enough to be cooking by herself.
It first started when Jeongyeong got bored of the meals at home (mainly because everyone AT COOKING) and started searching up recipes by herself and trying them out when everyone else was busy. During one day when Jeongyeong was trying to be as quiet as she can in the kitchen to cook something was when Insoo caught her. Soon the smell of her cooking caught the attention of the Youngs and it doesn't take long for everyone to agree that Jeongyeong's the only one who can make a decent meal. Ever since then, she was the resident cook for the other siblings as they often came up to her and asked her to cook something for them.
The kitchen became her private space where Jeongyeong would decide what meals she would cook up, making sure to take everyone's tastebuds and favorites into consideration. When Insoo contacts her about his plans to revive Young Nasan, all she could think about was the disaster in the kitchen if she decides not to go. So, in an act of heroism to prevent the siblings from burning down Nasan - she jumps onto a plane to Nasan the very next day. The main thing she's excited about is cooking, for once in a long time - Jeongyeong feels excited to be back in the kitchen.

Initial Meeting:
Their first time they met was when Jinyoung was helping his folks out at their usual spot at the wet market and spotted Jeongyeong walking around by herself, stopping once in a while to take a closer look at some of the produce being sold.
He's the first one to greet her with a, "You look new. A tourist, perhaps?"
"My family used to live in Nasan, we're just here to... try and keep our old restaurant running."

It took Jinyoung less than 5 minutes to fall in love the moment he saw her smile.
Love Story:
Upon meeting Jinyoung, Jeongyeong somehow manages to suggest that he come and work as a part-timer at their resturant. He jokingly asked if there would be an interview and she states, "This is your interview. You're going to be working with me after all, I don't let people easily walk into my kitchen."
Jeongyeong sets up a time and date where Jinyoung shows his skills in the kitchen and he's actually pretty decent compared to the other siblings so she has him set as her helper in the kitchen.
Because Jinyoung spends most of his time at Young Nasan around Jeongyeong, he gets to see her true colors while she's cooking. The focus she has while she's tossing the ingredients in, the humming of a simple tune while she's stirring and how she lights up whenever the siblings' mention how good her cooking is. With each passing day he spends with her, he finds her to be more and more lovable.
In Jeongyeong's case, it took a little longer for her to develop feelings for Jinyoung. She found him to very charming and he was a fast and determined helper in the kitchen who always tried his best to make sure she only needed to worry about 'cooking'. They often times bounced ideas about recipes or even carry conversations while they're both busy working, it became a natural atmosphere.
The two of them bonded easily due to them working closely together.

Jinyoung being very much a puppy in love with Jeongyeong and just loving seeing her come up with recipes or being able to make delish food so wonderfully. He's there to compliment her cooking every hour of the day and always greets her so cheerfully the moment he clocks in.
When the restaurant closes for the day, the two of them will usually still be in the kitchen sitting across from one another and talk about some silly stuff that happened like maybe Jeongyeong this close to almost spilling salt instead of sugar or how Jinyoung nearly cut his hand off because he remembered this meme when he was chopping ingredients.
The two of them could also have like shopping dates where it's really just the two of them going out to buy ingredients for the restaurant but it's fun because Jeongyeong loves grocery shopping while Jinyoung loves seeing Jeongyeong getting excited over produce.
Over time, Jeongyeong lets Jinyoung be the first person to know about the slump she hit during her 2nd year in university and how worried she is to tell the other siblings about it. Jinyoung's there to support her and let's her know that whatever decison she makes, both he and her siblings would surely be there to support her.
They also drink together often, not enough to get super drunk but the alcohol helps. Jeongyeong is a lightweight so it doesn't take much alcohol to turn her into very-open-effectionate-Jeongyeong who compliments Jinyoung and thanks him for how he's so wonderful.
