writing/stories goals for the upcoming week

I'm making a blog post about this because I think it would be fun to publically share the idea I have in my mind.

If you've been following my stories/previous blogs you might have noticed that the other week I was really into writing drabbles and even did a little 1, 2, 3, 4, 5-minute challenge type thing where I tried to write a whole story in one minute, then another story in two minutes, then another in three. I think I did a 6-minute story too and possibly even a 7 minute one...I'd have to go check. But eventually using a timer became more stressful than fun when the time increased but it was a fun little challenge.

Now I want to do a 100, 200, 300-word challenge. Where I write a whole story in 100 words, 200 words, 300 words, going up to 1000 words. And I would start today but I didn't sleep much yesterday before work so I need to get some sleep now before work (I have like 10/11 hours so I should get plenty of rest) but tomorrow is the first day of my weekend so that's why I'm starting then.

I'm going to be honest with myself. My bare minimum to pass this challenge is to do the ten 100, 200, 300 to 1000 word stories within the week. BUUUUT ideally I want to strengthen my writing habit and would like to do these ten stories every day. So day 1 write stories that are 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000 words. Then day 2 write new stories that are those same word counts, day 3 repeat, doing that for seven days.

While I was thinking of doing this, I thought writing a long chaptered story like this would be pretty cool. I tried to do something vaguely similar in the past, however, the word count for that story was 1 to I think 100? or 1 to 144? I can't even remember it was years ago at this point, but it was 1 to 100 or something but the word count was the squared amount of that number. So chapter 1 was 1 word, chapter 2 was 4 words, 3 was 9, 4 was 16, so on and so forth. I think OR YEAH I REMEMBER lmao. I wanted to do it to 88 for the 88 constellations, and each chapter was named after a constellation ahh yeah. It was like a sehun x oc demon fic. Shout out if you remember that story lol.

I think doing a 100 chapter looong fic where each chapter is 100 more words than the previous would be fun. Chapter 1 would be 100 words, chapter 2 is 200, alllll the way to chapter 100 which is 10,000 words. And I even started thinking of a plot too. I want it to be SaiDa (since I love them and have yet to write a fic about them) and I was thinking the premise could be Sana is a spoiled daughter of a CEO and Dahyun is a preacher's daughter. And there could even be some comedy in there, but part of the tension could be Dahyun questions her faith in her religion because of her feelings for Sana.

My mind even started to wander and I was like...what if I made Sana's dad a single dad and Dahyun's mom a widow and then Sana and Dahyun became stepsisters....but I don't think I'm on that level yet lmao. I think I'll stay within the more fluffy funny world of cuteness but with a splash of angst here and there. If I wanna do a step-sister fic about them maybe I could do it as a one-shot. Maybe I'll do it as one of the short one-shots I want to write this week lol.

Once I finish this challenge, whether I write 10 short stories total or 70 (wow that sounds like so many) then I'll start the SaiDa fic. It's been a while since I've done a chaptered fic and I think working on something longer form will help balance out all of the drabbles/super short one-shots I've taken a liking to writing. Cause while it is fun to pump out a ton of different characters and concepts and scenarios, it's also nice to create a world and a feeling and plot and subplots and relationships that you can immerse yourself in from time to time.

Let me know what you think if you want. Do you like writing one shots, or chaptered stories? Have you ever written a 100 word story, or one even shorter? Do you also stan SaiDa??? (That's the REAL question here lol).

Have a nice night/day :D

I love SaiDa. I love oneshots but sometimes it could be like you'll want more but what's the sense of it being a oneshot. I guess chaptered stories are good except for the slowburn ones...

I think it's really cool that you're doing this. I love to do writing goals for myself too. It's cool to kind of go by a schedule and I mean as long as you take care of yourself (go to sleep) and enjoy writing :)
