Standing at 170cm tall, Delphine is quite tall and towers over most of the people she meets. A slim body due to all the exercise she goes through almost daily. She's no stranger to getting compliments for her looks so she's confident in her beauty.
personality
(+) attentive, resourceful, hardworking, loyal
(-) disobedient, manipulative, bitter, secretive
As the current vice-head of the student council, Delphine certainly lives up to the expectations placed on her. She's a highly attentive person, looking over details from the many files or assignments she does and nearly nothing gets past her eyes. She does everything with careful careful care - always keeping an eye out for people and things around her. She's out there to look out for everyone else, not wanting any mishaps to happen under her watch. A trait passed down from her explorer father, she's been known to be resourceful in times of need. She's one of the people that students come to whenever something unexpected happens as she tries her best to fix whatever mess they made. Extremely hardworking is also another word that can describe Delphine as students have claimed have never seen her short of work or business. She's determined to do her very best, not wanting to disappoint her parents' reputation. Loyalty is something she highly favours and once Delphine is loyal to you, she will continue to be a very trusting and good friend towards the person. Although her loyalty is hard to be earned, it's not easy to be lost either.
However, she's not an angel with the few flaws she has. Even though she seems to be on neutral terms with most of the students of Peers, the teachers have a slightly difficult time liking her due to her disobedient nature. There's been a few times she's been called in for disciplinary reasons to the point even the teachers keep a close eye on her. Her instincts are what she trusts and if there's good enough reason/suspicion, she'll defy orders. Delphine is also manipulative as she's clever in twisting words or planting thoughts into other people's minds. It's her way of getting information when she needs it so she doesn't think it's wrong of her. She would also call herself to be a bitter person. She's the type to carry grudges and feelings of dislike towards a person for quite some time and has an even harder time building up trust to someone once they've broken it. Ah, but the Van De Berg child is also secretive. She tells a little about herself to keep people's suspicion off of her but really, no one knows Delphine beyond the surface of what she wants you to know.
Delphine lived in Le Mans for the first 5 years of her life. Her grandparents said that it was the only 5 years that both of her parents took a break and settled down at Le Mans to take care of their only daughter.
Both of her parents had attended Peers years before she did. Her mother, having been from a line of famous archeologists and historians while her father was born from a lineage of world known architects.
Delphine moved a lot - like, a lot, a lot. Both of her parents loved to explore the world so nearly every week, Delphine was somewhere new. From visiting Rome to the outskirts of India, she had stepped foot in many places not a lot of people would have a chance to see. She didn't went to school, learning a lot of things naturally during her travels as well as being taught by her parents. It was the experience of being expose to plenty of different cultures and areas that shaped her into who she was.
It wasn't until she was around 11 did her parents think that it would be best for their daughter to attend school - permanently. They were worried that she would fall behind in terms of academics if she didn't have at least a high school qualification.
Fitting in to a school took some time. It felt weird to be staying in one place any longer than 2 weeks for Delphine. However, a couple months into Peers and she found that it was rather comforting to be rooted to one place. She could develop friendships and actually keep them - something that was diffcult for her to do so before she stayed at Peers.
During breaks, her parents still convince her to join their travels but in all honesty, Delphine just wants to stay rooted to the ground.
- does have a knack for packing efficiently
- spends a lot of time at the library, usually seen at the history section
- likes to sketch out buildings with hints of historical elements to them
- her father likes to send her books while her mother prefers to send her postcards.
- she's actually pretty good at sewing? not runway fashion worthy but it's clean and tidy enough
- has small neat handwriting
- loves collecting a wide array of colors of pens
- is part of the Student Council board and Creative Arts team
- maybe it's the jet lag, maybe it's not but she finds it hard to sleep unless she reads a book before
- is pretty sick and tired of getting onto airplanes and going through the airport
- good in swimming
- really really,, hates Math but she tries
- doesn't like being photographed, especially if it involves flashes
Delphine wakes up 6 o'clock no matter what day it is. She takes around an hour to get ready, do some light exercises, eat breakfast and head out to her classes. While most of her classes (Math, Physics, Earth Sciences) are in the B ranking, for subjects of History, Social Science and Art, she's in the A ranks. She takes 2 elective languages, Korean and Dutch which are both B ranked.
When classes end, she heads over to the library and tends to do some studying or research over where her parents are visiting. Since she's part of the Student Council board (if that doesn't exist in Peers, then maybe part of the Debate Team? for extracurricular stuff), there are days they'll have meetings and discuss on certain matters.
On days that she's free, you won't find Delphine in her room. She's probably sitting down somewhere, reading yet another book that her father sent.
year 1 Delphine attends Peers as a first year and it's something she's been looking forward to. It comes a bit of a shock to her when students know her name. She doesn't know anyone so Adrien is one of the first people to reach out to her.
Delphine befriends Adrien in their first year. His parents run one of the most expensive and high sought after fashion line. He's shown to be a great friend to her and they get close pretty quickly.
year 2 Delphine meets Haruko when Haruko comes begging at Delphine to teach her French. Delphine develops a crush on her but it dies out quickly as the two become close friends. Delphine starts dating Adrien. It's also the year she suddenly starts talking to Wooseong more.
She joins the Student Council board when Haruko urges her to since Delphine stays in her room too much for Haruko's liking. Delphine ends up joining the Student Council board and the Arts department.
year 3 Adrien breaks up with Delphine through a post on the Gazette Monster. She has to confront him for him to admit that they've broken up. It breaks her to find out from the news rather than from himself. Delphine declares war with Adrien. It's also the year where Delphine reaches 1 million flight miles and her parents even meet her at the airport to celebrate. It's a wonderful time considering the three hadn't gotten together ever since Delphine turned 7.
year 4-5 Wooseong goes missing and Delphine starts to become busier, taking part in clubs and taking the time to indulge in her hobbies. She doesn't travel much those years, turning down most of her parents offers. Instead, she learns to travel on her own. She visits Le Mans, her birthplace, by herself and seems to like it.
year 6 Wooseong reappears. Despite how Haruko keeps telling her to try and ask Wooseong why he disappeared, it doesn't seem Delphine is going to talk to him any time soon. She's busy with maintaining her grades and being in charge of her club.
congratulatory ceremony
It was the first and last public event that Delphine went to. When she was around 12 years old, her father had made a huge discovery about an uncharted burial site in Greece. The Van De Berg family was invited to attend the event and it being her turn with her father, she was dressed up and readied for the event. Although her father stuck close to her, the amount of reporters, bright flashing cameras, people coming over to greet her felt overwhelming. She was pale as a ghost by the time the event was over and she hasn't been to any other events since then.
- prom?
- Delphine is possibly just going to go with Haruko and her acquaintances such as Lao, Akamatsu and a possibility of Wooseong.
- isn't interested in who's going to be crowned and such, she just wants to see how everyone dresses
- totally going for the meat option, no doubt
- since she's not really of fan of dresses, she's thinking of this as her outfit
Bae Wooseong
Once, Wooseong was someone Delphine was kinda close with, someone that she considered a friend and someone that she thought she could actually trust. When he went missing all of a sudden, Delphine did try to find him but in the end, she became too busy to put any effort in finding where he disappeared off to. She's happy to see him return but perhaps the time that he went missing caused their brief friendship to become even rockier.
Bird Marshall
Delphine doesn't have much to say about Bird besides the fact she thinks that the girl is beautiful, interesting and cool. She's seen Bird around, can't really recall if they've ever met eyes or even talked to one another but she holds no grudges against one the many stars of Peers.
Xu
Delphine knows them by name and have occasionally talked to them. They're acquaintances and it doesn't stretch any further than that.
Akamatsu
Delphine sort of considers Akamatsu as a friend since they talk rather often to be considered just acquaintances. Though most of their talks are about school and the occasional news of the world.
Lao
Delphine is oddly close with Lao. She's usually seen talking with them on a daily basis and seems to be friendly with one another.
Océane Martin or Océane Park // Mother
Delphine's mother who was born in France was the daughter to famous archeologists who were known for their discoveries, it came to no surprise when their daughter grew up to become a traveller. She visits new places almost weekly and has her own blog which is flooded with millions of subscribers. She gets countless of offers to visit places as she's known to bring in hordes of tourists wherever she left. During Delphine's breaks, she often brings the daughter to her adventures.
Gabriel Van De Berg // Father
A man who certainly made his name on the map, Delphine's father is a renowed explorer who has uncovered multiple sites. He's a carefree man, adventurous and curious. He keeps in touch with Delphine via letters since most of his explorations bring him to places where phones are useless. He sends a letter perhaps one every few months but never fails to make Delphine smile with his loving letters. He has brought her along a few times, wanting her to get a taste of nature up close.
Adrien Bellerose // Ex-boyfriend
Having dated for nearly a year and being close friends before that, Delphine once thought Adrien was everything to her. Their breakup caused her to resent him because he broke up with her in the tiest way possible. It wasn't until after the breakup did Delphine realise how much of a snake he was and still carries regret for ever dating him in the first place.
Haruko Yamoto // Best friend
Once a person that Delphine had a crush on and soon became her best friend. Haruko is a social butterfly who often drags Delphine to meet friends and other students. They first met when Haruko was failing in her French classes and had been referred to Delphine for help. The two are very close and almost inseparable.

Rumors have been spreading that Delphine and Adrien were once dating but have recently broken up and many people are saying that Delphine was the one who made the call.
We tried to get a comment out of Delphine but it seems Miss Van De Berg wants to be left alone. Adrien is also nowhere to be seen after this sudden news.
