 NAME  geum chunhwa
 NICKNAMES
miss geum : used by many of her customers. she doesn't mind the usage, but to be polite, she will insist that they just call her chunhwa. only a handful will obey her, while the rest continue to call her miss geum.
plant whisperer : created by her customers and used by her customers because she is simply the plant whisperer. she can revive almost any dying plant.
 AGE/DOB   25 / 30.08
OCCUPATION   flower shop and plant nursery owner
 FACE CLAIM
lee jieun (choi seoah).
 APPEARANCE
chunhwa stands at the average height of 161cm and weighs in at 49kg. her short dark brown, almost black hair, is either perfectly styled down to frame her oval face, or it's is tied into a short pony tail. her oval face and plump cheeks make her appear younger than she is, not that she minds because it is a compliment after all.
style wise, it's all about comfort for her. she prefers free flowing clothes, dresses, skirts, loose mom jeans, an oversized top. if she needs to look more put together, she opts for a cute modest dress.

 PERSONALITY
positive. benevolent, modest, hardworking, practical, orderly
uptight, skeptical, perfectionist, secretive, cowardly
negative.

what a sweet and hardworking girl.
ask anyone what they think of chunhwa and sweet is a guarantee answer. she's a kind soul. she will do whatever she can to make those around her smile. she's always ready to give a helping hand. despite everything she does for those around her, she'll brush off the compliments she receives. humble in nature, she is the last person to ever talk highly of herself. she likes to thinks of herself as average even if to she is outstanding to an outsider. she doesn't find a point in boasting.

chunhwa puts her all into everything she does. she is not one to half something, even if she thinks what she's working toward won't turn out great. she's simply a hard-worker. everyone around her, even her customers, fear that she may work herself to death. in addition to being hardworking, chunhwa is practical. if she even has the slightest inkling that something isn't going to work, she won't pursue it.  to her there is a difference between something not working and something working and not being great. she would prefer to not waste her energy doing things that are going to turn out badly, but often times she is forced into completing the task because she has a difficult time saying no.

those who know chunhwa know that she has an extremely orderly way to do things.  meticulous and methodical, there are steps to everything for her. these steps are all in her mind and she must follow them to a t. if she doesn't follow them, she gets itchy on the inside. it'll bother her that she didn't do it the way it was "supposed" to be done. she'll eventually get over it within a day or two. as her mother would say, "chunhwa has a system, just let her follow her system".

don't be fooled, even the sweetest rose has it's thorns.
chunhwa is quite uptight. she has a hard time relaxing and is almost always tense when she's not in her flower shop working. she's a worrier and grows anxious easily. to add to her uptight nature, she's quite the skeptic. her practical character causes her to question everything she is told. she's the student in class who will ask a million questions or is the student who will sit there and have a small argument with another classmate. there is not anyone one topic that chunhwa is more skeptical towards, she's skeptical towards all things.

as a not so lovely addition to chunhwa's "system" of doing things, she's a perfectionist. if she finishes a task and it's only okay, she'll put even more effort into trying to make it the best, or at least get it up to her standards. she notices all the details and will not stop fixing something until she likes it. she has high standards for herself due to the fact that she doesn't want to disappoint anyone.

an enigma to many, chunhwa is a secretive soul. she is extremely slow to open up and sometimes she doesn't. she doesn't like sharing personal information and will do whatever she can to not share details about herself and her life. she doesn't want to bother anyone with her problems either, thus many of the issues she is going through no one will know. her emotions are always bottled up and people only know her as the happy, kind and hardworking girl they see her present herself as in her flower shop.

chunhwa is a coward. people just don't know enough about her to see that she is one. she has a fear of the unknown. it's a mystery as to how she was even able to start a flower shop. she doesn't like to go out of her comfort zone and if she does it's never far. she'll make up any excuse to keep away from stepping out of her comfort zone. she also doesn't like confrontation and will do whatever she can to avoid it. if she has a feeling that a confrontation is going to happen, she'll make herself unavailable for a period of time to try and make the other person forget. she won't bring up any issue until the issue literally forces it's way to be talked about usually through her overworking herself. when it comes to standing up for her opinions and thoughts, she is "wishy washy". when it comes to topics that she is well versed in, such as plants and flowers she'll stand her ground and tell her customers to listen to her or get lost. however, when it comes to topics that she is lacking in knowledge, she'll ask questions, but she won't take a solid stance. her asking questions is her way of gaining knowledge. some will view her asking questions and being skeptical as being courageous, but she doesn't view it as so.

at the end of the day, chunhwa just wants to be blend in with the crowd and wants stay in her safe bubble.

 BACKGROUND

early dwellings. (tw: bullying)
chunhwa was born to two loving parents, but only grew up with one. her father died in a tragic car accident shortly after her birth, leaving her only with her mute mother. the details of the car accident were never revealed to chunhwa and even as her older self, she has never asked her mother about it because she knows it's a tough topic for her mother. what she does know is that her father was involved in a multiple car pile up in the middle of summer and to her, that seems fishy. her mother and father's relationship was "special" because her mother was mute, but her father willingly committed his life to her. they were in love and chunhwa was the fruit of their love.

despite only growing up with a mother, chunhwa would say she had a good childhood in spite of the bully she received given the circumstance with her mother. as much as she wanted to just blend in with the other kids, she was always the odd one out. first because she only had a mom and the second was because her mom was mute. the rumors that surrounded her and her mom were endless. some claiming her mom whored around, others claiming her mom was selfish for raising a child being the mute she was. their time in seoul was not long, after nine long years her mother decided it would be best to move.

episode one. age nine.
a nine year old chunhwa stood cornered into a foliage covered corner of the playground. the corner hidden by trees and bushes was out of the viewpoint of the teachers and served as the perfect hunting ground for the other students. however, what her classmates felt was the perfect hunting ground for them, turned out to be the perfect hunting ground for chunhwa. surrounded by the plant life, she felt stronger. both physically and mentally. she was thriving like she hadn't been before.

as a select handful of her classmates narrowed in around her, forming a circle. chunhwa stood her ground, planting her feet firmly on the ground as she stared back at her bullies. they chunted many phrases some being that she was a freak because her mom was a freak, she shouldn't have been born, her and her mom both shouldn't had been born, her father left her and her mother because they both were freaks. sticks were thrown. rocks were thrown. her classmates came closer and closer, but before they could reach her something unbelievable happened.

the events that followed chunhwa cannot clearly remember. all she remembers were vines, lots of vines, turning this way and that way, wrapping themselves around the other children. screams. there were plenty of screams. then as quickly as it all happened, it all stopped. the vines disappeared as the teachers approached. worry was written on all their faces seeing the handful of children on the floor, grabbing at their bodies, necks and faces. some were sobbing. others were quick to accuse chunhwa of being a witch. and some were quiet, sent into a shock. chunhwa stood in the middle of the chaos for a moment before she collapsed to the floor. the next thing she knows, she was waking up in the nurse's office. her mom in the other room, conversating with the nurse.

after the event that unfolded at her school, chunhwa stayed at home for the remainder of the month. the school claimed that the students just had a wild imagination because there was no evidence. there were no vines nor had any of the students had been physically harmed. to calm the other students her mother and the school agreed that keeping chunhwa at home would be the best course of action for all parties involved.

the new beginning.
chunhwa's mom decided to move to jeju island. she wanted to get as far as she could from dense civilization. the situation with her school had calmed down, but she felt uncomfortable sending chunhwa back. whatever happened that day on the playground was enough to intensify the bullying chunhwa was already going through. her mom sold their house and a large majority of the things she had in order to move. her mom bought a little restaurant that also served as their new home. finding more acceptance in the little village that they moved into, both chunhwa and her mom found a home where they could more easily blend in.

episode two. age twelve.
a harmless adventure with the boy next door turned into a disaster. chunhwa was out with her best friend, bongju, in the woods behind their neighborhood village. it was the middle of summer and to escape the heat they sought shelter under the trees in the wood. they had heard from older kids that there was a creek somewhere in the woods and that was what the duo was looking for. the creek they did find, it was more than just a creek. it was a hidden little pond with a steady midsized three tiered waterfall that filled it. it was paradise for the two. they played and played in the water as they escaped the heat of summer. however, they grew tired of just wading in the water. "it'll be fun, come on," bongju told her as he climbed the rocks near the first tier of the waterfall. it'll be fun, she thought to herself as she followed him.

it was fun. it was all endless fun, until bongju slipped. he fell on his back. scared for her friend she rushed to him, pulling him to the side of the river away from the rushing water that was falling off the cliff. he was in a daze. he was simply staring up at her as she held him in her lap. maybe he hit his head, she thought to herself while continuing to ask him if he was okay. he was obviously not okay as she felt the warm liquid that leaked from his back and the back of his head. "oh god bong, what are we going to do," she cried seeing his blood that covered her hands. finding the strength in her, she pulled him out of the water and laid him on the muddy grass, front side down. his back was covered in a cuts from the rocks he had landed on and there was a gash on the back of his head. he was muttering incoherent words as he was swaying in and out of consciousness
. "stay here, i'll be back," she said. when she turned to leave a voice inside of her told her to stop and stay. grab those leaves over there the voice said. chunhwa did as the voice told her, grabbing a handful of leaves from a tree. now place it on his wounds and focus on healing him. although she was hesitant, chunhwa did as the voice said. she placed the leaves on the back of his head first before she placed her hand over it. she closed her eyes and muttered, "dear god. please, please, just stop the bleeding at least."

a miracle happend. at so, that's what she thought and believed.

"chun, what are you doing?" bongju asked, shaking her from her quiet chanting. when she opened her eyes, bongju had stared to look up at her. she exclaimed and hugged him, going on and on about what had happened. bongju just laughed it off and said that she was probably just dreaming. there was no way that she would have been able to heal his head wound, but he didn't discount the blood that covered her clothes and the ground around them. the minor cuts on his back would be able to wait.

the incident of that day chunhwa kept to herself for years until bongju brought it up in their twenties. neither of them wanted to believe that she really had saved his life, it was simply a dream for a long time. a memory where all the facts were jumbled up. she couldn't have healed his head wound with just leaves, could she? years later they conclude and agree that she did indeed, heal his head wound with leaves her powers.

episode three. age sixteen.
a nearly suffering plant, brought back to life. was it luck or was it chunhwa? chunhwa was helping her mom take care of their garden in the back of their house. the weather was starting to get colder and many of the plants weren't doing so well. chunhwa's favorite flower, the sun flower, hadn't bloomed at all when it was supposed to in the summer and it was now struggling to bloom. it shouldn't have been a big deal, but for chunhwa she felt the struggle and pain that the poor sunflower was going through. she noted that she'll take care of the other plants before spending quality time with the sunflower.

once she was done tending to all the other plants, she revisted the sunflower. she cupped the poor bud in her hands and blew some air onto it, wishing it a nice bloom. she pulled her hands away not expecting anything to happen, but before her eyes, the sunflower steem stood straighter, the bud grew greener and it slowly began to bloom. chunhwa's eyes were wide as she watched the sunflower fully bloom. she sat there shocked for a few minutes before she ran inside, told her mom and dragged her mom out to see the sunflower.

"it was probably like that already and you just mistook it," her mom signed to her.

"no! it bloomed in front of me. i didn't imagine it!," she signed back to her mom.

"then maybe it was just luck," her mom signed before heading back inside.

chunhwa sat there slightly defeated but still delighted that the sunflower bloomed for her. it was after all, her favorite flower.

the true awakening.
from the very first episode chunhwa had been dreaming. bits and pieces of what all felt like a disastrous scary movie. at least that was how she'd explain it to her mom. it was a dream of a battle. just one battle. then it lead to multiple battles. a war. it was a dream of war. the battles of war. but what did they mean?

it wasn't until the sunflower incident that her all her dreams came together. it was one final dream. the full dream. the dream of the final war. the war of the stars. chunhwa was told she was a star of earth and that earth would need her to protect it once the stars were aligned. what on earth was that supposed to mean? chunhwa attributed that first dream to just having too large of an imagination, but the dreams continued to come. more often and it reached the point where she was dreaming the same dream every night of the week. she was in denial. she wanted to be normal. she wanted to fit in. she wasn't a hero.

the countless trials. age sixteen to eighteen.
learning her fate, chunhwa didn't believe until she tried. after losing weeks of sleep, chunhwa decided that she'll try and prove her destiny wrong. they got the wrong girl. she had no powers. she was no star of earth. yet, everything she tried to do to disprove it only proved that she was indeed a chosen one.

it started with her healing plants. taking dead or nearly dead plants and making them live and thrive. it wasn't supposed to work, but it did work. every dead plant she got her hands on was able to live again. it then moved onto healing herself and others. sometimes she'd purposely give herself a small cut only to heal it with a leaf or flower. when bongju got hurt, she'd heal him. when her mother got hurt, she'd heal her mother. it worked, every single time. her trials then escalated to generating plant-life. she learned what she was able to do and what she would be able to do with practice. she embraced her powers, but had lots of doubts that the war as going to happen.

after coming to terms with her powers, the vivid dreams of war and her destiny stopped. she didn't tell anyone about her powers for a few years. it was only when she dropped out of college at the age of 21 did she tell her mom and bongju that she didn't want to pursue anything that would force her to spend her days in a cubicle, did she tell them that she was more in tuned with nature and plant-life than she was with paperwork. her wild dream was to become a florist and be a flower shop owner. that was the most courageous thing that her loved ones have seen her do, so they supported her. she was passionate and she had always loved flowers, so might as well let the girl do her thing.

neither her mom nor bongju believe that she had special magical powers and she just accepted that they would probably never understand. all that mattered was that was thriving again. her flower shop was established within a few months and since then she has had many visitors, both from far and near coming to her about flower and plant issues. her plant nursery was established a year after her flower shop and both shops have been booming with people ever since they opened.

she never stopped using her powers since the establishment of her flower and plant shop. she uses her powers in nonviolent ways pretty much on the daily. she's not using her powers so that she doesn't lose them, she uses them because her connection with plant-life runs so much deeper than she is willing to admit. she is one with plants and where there are plants there is more than likely nature. she feels in control for once. throughout her life she had weird experiences that no one could tell her were anything more than a dream or a part of her imagination. however, now that she knows those experiences were because of her own power, she is in control of her life.

the call.
within the past month chunhwa's dreams have started again. more intense than she remembered them to be. she cannot lie and say that for a moment she forgot about the war because she did. she did everything in her power to forget about the war and the destiny she was supposed to fulfill and for a few years as she focused on her flower shop and plant nursery she did "forget".  whenever she did remember she would it to the back of her mind, ignoring it. she doesn't want anything to do with the war. out of fear that she may not return. who will take care of her mom? who will take care of her dog, oreo? she's too important in the lives of her loved ones to go to war. yet, she doesn't realize just how important she is for humankind.

as the dreams begin, the voice inside of her head returns. urging her to return to seoul. urging her that she must fulfill her destiny. urging her that the war is coming regardless of whether she wants it to or not. and finally the voice threatens that if she chooses to not fight, she along with her family will die. it is death that she is the most afraid of. death. she didn't realize it, but she had fought against death for as long as she could remember. she brings plants to life because she doesn't want them to die. she runs her businesses because she doesn't want her mother and her to end up in the streets where death will most likely follow shortly. she has spent her entire life bringing life to others, how will she serve death to others?

faced with this realization, chunhwa makes the excuse that she has business she needs to attend to in seoul. as much of a coward as she is, chunhwa doesn't want to die nor does she want her loved ones to die. she has brought life to those around her, but will she be able to bring death to those who challenge her? will she be strong enough to dance with death and survive?

 RELATIONSHIPS

mother : geum iseul (53)
stolid, hard-working, optimistic, gullible
iseul is mute. as a child she was very ill and her illness caused permanent injury to her larynx. she is capable of hearing and uses korean sign language and writing on a notepad to communicate. chunhwa is extremely close to her mother. chunhwa only shares what is necessary to not make her mom worry. when chunhwa is going through a really hard time, she'll put on a front to keep her mom calm. chunhwa worries about her mom a lot and doesn't ever want to leave her mom's side. to chunhwa, she is her mom's protector.

dog : oreo (5)
loyal, protective, clingy, envious
chunhwa adopted oreo when he was a year old. he had been abandoned outside of her plant nursery and she felt bad for the dog. he has since been very loyal and protective of chunhwa and her mother. although he may be small, he is a great guard dog. where ever chunhwa is, oreo is either next to her or close by.

childhood best friend & love interest : kim bongju (25)
charming, playful, stubborn, clingy
bongju and chunhwa have known each other since they were nine. they were neighbors and then friends and then best friends. they know what makes each other tick and they know what calms one another. bongju finds much joy in teasing chunhwa and whenever he gets the chance, he's making a jab at her. she claims to hate it, but she secretly loves it. if there was one person that chunhwa feels comfortable coming clean about all her issues it's bongju. she has in fact, leaned on him a lot. the things she doesn't want to tell her mother in fears of worrying her, she tells bongju. everything chunhwa tells him, he keeps a secret and he almost always knows the right words to make her feel better.

they both at one point in their friendship have looked at one another as more than a best friend. each imagining what it would be like if they were more than friends, yet with chunhwa's cowardly nature she never confessed. whenever bongju told her that he needed to tell her something, he'd be met with a cold shoulder or the silent treatment which always dampens his mood and courage to confess to her. he doesn't want to lose her and she doesn't want to lose him, yet neither of them were able to show their feelings for one another.

bongju has had his selection of girlfriends and chunhwa was always there to support him and cheer him on. chunhwa has gone on her fair share of dates, but has never made anything official. both are single and have been single for over a year now. the feelings of wanting to be more are beginning to manifest again. this time, will either of them find the courage to finally confess?

employee & close friend : jung haejoo (25)
outgoing, humorous, fickle, frugal
haejoo is a loyal employee who has been working for chunhwa since the very beginning. at first the two didn't get along because haejoo has a laidback way of doing things, why chunhwa has a very particular way of doing things. however, because of this dynamic, they balance each other out. haejoo keeps chunhwa from slaving over following all the rules while chunhwa reminds haejoo that procedures and steps are there for a reason. they have a lot of playful banter and haejoo is usually the one doing the talking.

 POWER   plant manipulation
 ALTERNATE   earth manipulation
 DESCRIPTION
chunhwa has the ability to create and manipulate plant-life. she thrives in nature and is strongest when she is around foliage. she is stronger, faster and more durable when in the presense of plant-life.

chunhwa is able to communicate with all forms of plant-life, including flowers, trees, fruits, vegetables, pollen etc. she is only able to communicate with plant-life through touch. by being able to communicate in this way, she is able to understand what has happened or is happening either in the area around her or within a mile circumference. she is also able to sense the well-being of plants, conditions of plants and feel their emotions.

she is able to generate plants either from drawing them from existing plants or from generating them mostly from anywhere she wants. she is the best at generating flowers and vines and can hold these generated plants for longer periods of times. when it comes to trees, she is able to generate them, but only for short periods of time before getting worn out. in barren areas, she is unable to generate plants and flowers. if her generated plants are injured or hurt, she herself will feel a fraction of their hurt and injury. repeated injuries to her plants will lead to injuries on herself.

along with being able to generate plants, she is capable of influencing the growth of plants. she can accelerate the growth of plants, causing them to bloom instantaneously, mature at rapid speeds, grow to unusual sizes and produce in abundance. this is also limited to if an area is barren or not.

chunhwa furthermore can heal herself and others with plants. plants must be existing in order for her to heal herself, while generated plants and existing plants are able to heal others. if she is using generated plants to heal another, she is taking on half of the other's pain and injury.

when it comes to using plants as an offensive front, chunhwa is lacking. she has a difficult and nearly impossible time molding plants into objects (chlorokinetic constructs). she also has a difficult time with plant attacks, unless she is in a specific headspace or situation (the headspace/situation being she feels like she might die, someone she loves is truly in danger, or she's very angry). only in these circumstances can she easily generate plant wave emissions, plant bullet projections, plant spike projections and plant cutting. however, after coming down from her "high", she will be exhausted from using these abilities and will need to lay or be laid down into a field of flowers to recharge her soul.

she is very much a healer and defensive player rather than an offensive player. she would very much prefer to only use her powers to help plants grow, live and prosper. she doesn't want to use plants for harm, especially against people, but if push comes to shove she'll need a hard shove in order do what she needs to do to survive.

healing herself:

she can only heal herself with existing plant-life and cannot heal herself with generated plant-life, so she'll need to take the life/energy out of plants to heal herself.

healing others:
firstly, she can (and prefers) to use existing plant-life to heal others because she's transferring the energy and life of the said plant into whomever she is trying to heal.

secondly, she can heal others using her generated plants if there are no immediate plant-life around her to use. when she uses her own generated plants, she is giving up some of her energy to heal whomever she needs to heal. the plant is just the vessel for her to transfer her energy into the wounded. since she is using up some of her energy to heal the wounded person, she herself loses energy and consumes some of the pain/injury that she is trying to heal. i'm not sure if the last part of her consuming some of the pain/injury is necessary now that i think it out more since she could just become weakened due to a loss of energy.

 QUESTIONS
How does your character feel about their destiny? "i've always brainwashed myself to believe that it's not true, but everything i've done to try and disprove it doesn't work in my favor. at this point, if i'm destinted for it, i can no longer fight it."

Do they believe in fighting for the world or against it? "i don't want anyone to die, but obviously no matter what people are going to die. i'd rather not have my loved ones die and looking at the majority and minority, the majority wins. so i guess i'm fighting for the world.

What price would they be willing to pay to achieve their goals? "i... it would depend on what the goal is."
 FINAL THOUGHTS
Would you be okay with your character dying during the course of the story? of course! if it's her time to go, it's her time to go. i do have a request though, if she does die please let her suffer a little bit, just long enough for her to give her a an honest monolgue of her expressing all the i guess you could say regrets she has or express how she was so scared to die, but now has just accepted it or something. that said, if you would prefer a quick death for her i'll be okay with that too. lol

 QUESTIONS?  none at the moment!

MORE WORD VOMIT   first off apologizes for the word vomit of a character. she's all over the place i know, but i do hope she makes sense. ;; if she doesn't well i apologize you had to read all that. this isn't necessarily a song for the story, just a song that i liked to listen to while writing chunhwa's app (link). her love interest is also not set in stone. i'd love for you to play matchmaker with her, but incase it doesn't work out bongju is her backup if that makes any sense.

PASSWORD  i don't have any memes to give, but you're pretty and all the other applicants are pretty. beautiful is probably a better word than pretty. also, i love the concept of your story!

 SCENE REQUESTS
+ a drunk chunhwa would be fun to see. her darkest secrets could be exposed then, such as her fear of dying.
+ another star of earth calling her a coward (cause she is one lmao) and that leads to tension between the stars of earth.
+ stars of earth arguing over anything tbh
+ chunhwa wanting to plan all their missions piece by piece but getting shut down, or being told that they don't need to plan every single little thing.
