Hello everyone!

The summer heat is unbearable where I live - I try my best to drink as much water as possible (staying hydrated is important!), stay inside in the critical hours and listen to some Kpop songs that lift my spirits but also chill me down in this weather. I've thought I'll share some of my favorites with you. It's possible you've heard most of them already but I hope you find something new as well!

(All songs are listed randomly, I love all of them equally.
If it happens to be winter where you live, hopefully this playlist will bring you some warmth.
If not let me know, and I'll whip up a winter playlist too! :)

 

Chungha
"Rollercoaster"

Why I recommend: "Rollercoaster" makes my heart jump in my chest every single time I listen to it. I imagine this is how a rollercoaster ride must feel like! (fyi: I haven't tried one yet, I'm a scaredy cat ^^") It's smooth, cool and the bridge with Chungha's little "Look!" is so good~

 

SISTAR
"I Swear"

Why I recommend: SISTAR has many summer-like songs, hence they were labelled as the group you think of when it's summer, but I especially recommend this one because it's super catchy. It just makes me dance and puts me in a good mood instantly. :)

 

ASTRO
"Hide & Seek"

Why I recommend: This is the loveliest boy-group song ever. There, I said it! Haha, but really, both the song and the video are so cute & heartwarming, and whenever I listen to it, or just think about it like right now while I'm typing this, I have big smile on my face. This song is all sunshines!

Red Velvet
"Power Up"

Why I recommend: Surprisingly, I wasn't fan of this song when it came out but it has grown on me! It has a re-charging effect, no wonder its title; I feel like this song could make me move on a hot day I would  rather laze around on instead. And some of us has to stay productive during these summer months so it's great we can listen to a song like this! :)
ps. I purposefully didn't list more than one song per artist buuuut in Red Velvet's case "Red Flavor" might be a good choice for a summer anthem too!

 

BEAST
"Beautiful Night"

Why I recommend: This is my OG "party-hard" song, I'm not gonna lie haha. If I ever got to a noraebang, you'll find me singing this song from the top of my lungs. It's super driving and just made for a summer party (or just any party in general)!

 

SHINEE
"Savior"

Why I recommend: I remember listening to SHINee's "ODD" album the summer it came out and loving every second of it. "Savior" is upbeat, y, bubbly and summer-ready! All the members' voices stand out and give their own flavour, making up that perfect "SHINee sounds" we all love *-*

 

SPICA
"Tonight"

Why I recommend: I'll never forget what a genius, talented and down-to-earth group SPICA was and all the amazing songs they've left us with... "Tonight" is one of those songs. It's inspirational, perfect for a hangout with friends and just having fun without caring about anything else. Have I said I miss SPICA TT

 

SUPER JUNIOR D&E
"Don't Wake Me Up"

Why I recommend: This song is special to me because I have a particular memory tied to it - I was on a family road trip when this song came on shuffle and it was such a relaxing, summery few minutes the song was on! Ever since "Don't Wake Me up" reminds me of roadtrips, ocean breeze and chilling by the bonfire watching the starry sky.

 

Girls' Generation OH!GG
"Fermata"

Why I recommend: When this unique unit debuted, I was too focused on their title track, "Lil' Touch" (which is also great!) to notice they've produced another remarkable song. "Fermata" is either the summer breeze walking along the coast or the flickering embers in a bonfire on a cuddly summer night. This song is just so calming and relaxing... and it has a very uplifting lyrics as well, check it out! (ps. Maybe it's just me but I've also added "Fermata" to my list of songs that help me with my anxiety. If you're suffering from something similar, I recommend you listening.♡)

 

EXO-CBX
"Rhythm After Summer"

Why I recommend: And the perfect way to end this playlist is with a song that goes from summer to fall! I've listened to EXO-CBX' "Rhythm After Summer" way too many times because I love it! Baekhyun, Chen and Xiumin's vocals blend perfectly (as always) and the bridge where they take turns singing softly & sweetly *-* I'm swooned (and biased, but I take that! :)
