Was browsing around the web to read some stories and happened on the most aggressive, most scary author post I’ve come across to date.

She said cruel, insulting words for everyone to read, how she will never open her stories again and how people should stop sharing them.

And I just have to wonder... why don’t you just close your account? Why don’t you delete everything and just get lost? Share your stories privately and stop yelling at the whole world. I’m honestly sick of people like you. 

Maybe you’re young and you’ll grow out of it, maybe you’ll stay bitter and unhappy for the rest of your life. I honestly don’t care. 

But this does hurt me on a personal level. I am not only a writer, I’m an avid reader as well. I’ve been reading fanfics in different fandoms for the longest time and wow are some people entitled. I’ve happened upon a lot of mean authors. Some seem completely unreachable, some are too self absorbed, and some just don’t give a . 

And that is all fine, but being mean to people for saving and privately sharing your work because you took it down is RIDICULOUS. If authors of published books did the same, you would think them insane. Just because you didn’t publish your work you think you have the rights to dictate what other people can do? If you put it out there, it up and be greatful that people want to enjoy your work. What the actual hell is wrong with you.

No wonder readers are often scared to interact with writers or write comments. Not like that ever gets talked about. It’s only the poor writers and their hard work and how they do everything for free. So what? You choose to do this, so you get some kind of satisfaction out of it, and yet it is like a free pass to being an insufferable .

And yet... when the writing is good, what can you do? You want to read more even though it feels like the author hates you. I’m truly sorry for all the readers who feel that way, including myself.
