— miyoung has a model-like body (kudos to her family clan's genes of being tall). many girls envy her height and her naturally skinny figure (she tries not to brag coughs). people would always tell her to eat more but she's one of those types who rarely gains weight no matter how much they eat. her monolid eyes gives her a fierce and cold look but once she smiles, they turn into cute lines. she dyes her hair to a boring range or black and brown, because she's too scared to try vibrant colors. she has a piercing on the cartilage of her right ear.

ELABORATION

— miyoung's aware that some people get intimidated by her physique and sharp eyes, so she often takes the initiative in approaching people and getting close with them. she greets them with her eye smile and starting conversations have always been easy to her, due to her curious nature. though there are times where she can be a little too open about her thoughts, asking way too personal questions or maybe reacting to something that may not look or sound nice to others. co-trainees have warned her that she can be evil-edited by mnet because of that personality though she hopes that she will turn into a kang dongho after getting evil-edited. she tries to think of the good side of everything as much as possible. miyoung's not very stubborn and she'll listen and follow if you correct her. she's open to criticisms, even to the strict and harsh instructors. she knows she can be a little over the limit when she's saying something and it's hard for her to control it but if she's corrected or she noticed someone hurt by what she said, she'll apologize immediately to the person. miyoung cares a lot to her family and friends. she's the type to ask if you're okay and ask if she's gone overboard on the blunt comments so she can stop herself. she boasts often that she never lies.

— her humurous side is mainly due to the fact that she's shameless and is confident enough to keep doing it even though it's embarassing. in their dorm, she once tried to make a healthy vegetable drink. it ended up being bland and gross because she didn't even base on a recipe. the good part is she continued to drink it so it won't be a 'waste'. miyoung loses things often because she's forgetful and don't even expect that she'll remember your birthday. she tries to keep a few things to decrease the chance of losing them (what kind of logic even-) and she defends that it's better to be adaptable than being organized. but what's bad about it is that she forgets to eat meals and practice longer that she expected, which is bad for her health. she hates it when her mind is too preoccupied so she became impulsive so problems and decisions can 'end' faster (or so she thought-). she's good at keeping herself calm and can control her emotions well. to cut the long story short, miyoung can easily be your bestfriend who supports on everything you do, but you need to look after her because she's a big baby.

— miyoung calls herself as the favorite child of the family because she's the only flower/daughter of the family. she has an older brother (22) and two younger brothers (17 & 16). both of her parents were former professional athletes and they currently work as professors in a university. she's definitely more affectionate and talkative to her parents compared to her brothers. she's also close to her brothers and acts as a second mother to them, even to her older brother who always stresses himself because he's an engineering student. since age 6, she trained to be a professional figure skater in the future, but gave up the career after she was scouted by pledis in a seventeen fansign event in 2016. she also transferred to lila art high school after entering the company, majoring in visual and music. she chose to become an idol over a possible career of competing in olympics because it wasn't really her passion and dream, but her parents'. TRAINEE LIFE

miyoung joined the company in 2016 after getting scouted at a seventeen fansign. it would be such a waste to miss a great opportunity like it! she was so shocked at first, but she accepted the offer and went to audition. she performed 4minute's crazy and passed. on her first day, she had expectations that she'll meet seventeen, but in reality, they rarely meet.  she gets along well with most of the trainees. it was her first time being a trainee and she never really expected that she'll become one, so she was really awkward and lost during the first weeks. she wasn't used to the tense and stressful environment and almost quit after 2 months. luckily, her fellow trainees comforted her and helped her. after a few weeks of adjusting and familiarizing, minyoung trained with a new hardworking spirit.

before becoming a trainee, minyoung had zero experience and knowledge about rapping other than trying to rap in seventeen's songs. she was curious and showed her interest in learning how to rap to the trainers. she tried to keep a positive attitude throughout even though everything was new to her. after months of training, she can finally compose rap lyrics, have better tone, and she gained that 'swag' every rapper should have. for minyoung, all she needs is more experience in rapping on stage and more songs to compose.

her friends at school told her she suits pledis because she's got that 'after school' vibe and look. (though seveteen was the only reason why she joined). despite pledis' bad reputation on handling girl groups, she still stayed because she also somehow grew attached to the company and afraid that she might not get accepted into other companies. when the news of having a survival show come out, minyoung believes that she has to be on the show no matter what.

— vocal // 40% : she has a deep and husky voice. she's mostly stable and hits the lower notes better than the high ones which are pretty risky for her.
— rap // 80% : she's a low tone rapper and can do both slow and fast rap. she spends more of her training on rapping. she can compose and do a free style rap but not as good as experienced rappers in smtm.
