— What stands out about Dylan at first are his heavy build and bleach blonde hair. He was always on the heavier side, having broader shoulders than the others, but because his dancing is so intense, he needs the necessary muscles to keep up. He's not chubby, just broad and muscled. He has kept his hair bleached blonde ever since he made his first appearance in Korea. He is often deemed a visual hole, until he shows his smile. His smile is his biggest charming point, it's cute, it's soft, it's innocent, it melts hearts. People either love him for his dancing or for his adorableness, but never for his visuals. social and cheerful: Dylan is a ball of joy. He loves making new friends, just chatting away or having fun. He's a real chatterbox who tries to keep on smiling all the time. He radiates this sunny energy, which is precious and childlike. He just seems so innocent and also dumb because he's always so happy, seemingly not having a care in the world. He befriends people easily, but that also makes it easier to keep on his facade, and even manipulate them if he needs to do that, even if he doesn't like it.

Intelligent and patient: almost everyone is mistaken in their judgement about Dylan. As said before, he seems dumb because of his energy and innocence, but he is actually very clever and a top student. He used to be offended or sad when someone told him, but he is now using it as weapon. He has even fooled Areum with his confusing image, and he has noticed that it gives him an advantage against her. She pays less atention to him since she thinks he's too dumb to try anything, and it also makes her target him less. He is always dancing and jumping and yelling, making him seem childlike and dumb (again lol). He loves wearing himself out, but he also loves to compete against others. He's a very competitive spirit who always wants to win and is very prideful about it. When he loses even in the smallest thing, his pride will be harmed and he feels bad about it, but when he wins, he's just beaming, walking with his chest out, loving life and extremely proud of himself. Sometimes people let him win on purpose because he is really cute when he's proud of himself (people just love that bright smile, ya know).

Insensitive: Dylan is ashamed about this himself, but he can come over as quite insensitive. It is partly his intelligence. When he doesn't see what the problem is, or deems the problem stupid, he won't feel any empathy, or just a bit when it's about someone he really likes. He then just says 'why don't you just...', which doesn't help more often than not, but sometimes, just sometimes, he is able to solve the problem with his logical, unbiased reasoning. But yeah he really does need to be a bit more sensitive and Dylan knows that about himself, but he doesn't want to act or lie, so he tends to just excuse himself and stay out of other people's problems. But if he really feels like it's a problem, he'll immediately emerge in it and try to solve it asap.

Insecure and anxious: Dylan has actually grown into quite the insecure little boy. He has lost many chances for debuting because of his looks, despite being like probably the best dancer in kpop. He really started to think: 'do I look that bad?'. It made him so anxious that he starts to even have problems looking into a mirror. When something goes bad, he'll always be very panicky about it. He's worried about his plan as well, and that's why he's extra patient and careful about it.

Clumsy and disorganised: Dylan can't just do anything without something going wrong. And well, you know already that when something goes wrong, he'll start to get into a panic. People really have to watch him so that nothing happens. He's not only very clumsy, but also disorganised. He leaves his belongings just lying around everywhere. He doesn't know how to be neat, and doesn't want to be either. He just hates to clean.

background. Dylan was born in Canada from a Japanese family which had some Korean blood in it as well. Yeah, Dylan had lots of international stuff going on from the day he was born. he was a happy and smart kid who grew up perfectly bilingual, speaking both English and Japanese. He was also very energetic, too energetic, so his parents asked him to choose a club that he wanted to join, expecting soccer or maybe volleyball. Against all of their expectations, he said dance, so when he was in elementary school, they put him into the dance club where he was able to flourish.

Dancing was pretty much the only thing Dylan needed in life. It has remained that way. He'd be fine with doing anything, as long as he could dance. He is a very good dancer too, and his teachers and parents really did push him to go pro. Dylan was originally going to go pro, until he discovered kpop. His favourite group were SM's queens, Empath. His bias? Areum. She was so pretty and seemed so sweet. He wanted to follow into Empath's footsteps and become kpop idol. But it didn't prove as easy as it sometimes seems, especially for him, because he was foreign and didn't have the looks with him as well. (well I think he's super good looking and adorable but yeah he is definitely not like your standard kpop boi) He did end up finding a company and he started kpop training under Cube in 2011. His first appearance on TV was in 2014, when he joined the second season of dancing 9. He expected to get more chances if he made a stir. He did make a stir, but still, Cube didn't debut him, and instead of giving him more chances, they decided to just get rid of him in 2015. Dylan went back to dancing, renting studios and joining dance crews occasionally. He was known as a good dancer, but he didn't get chances, and the excuse was his looks. Until Boys24 came.

Dylan didn't make it in Boys24, but he again caused a small stir for his dancing, yet no opportunities came. When Produce 101 season 2 was announced, he decided to join yet again despite knowing how bad mnet actually is. He joined the show as individual trainee, and got actually further than he had expected, ending at #33. He got votes mainly for his skills, being part of A class and one of the best performers throughout the whole show, and he had a few fans who actually thought he was goodlooking and adorable, but yet again, it wasn't enough. Fans cried for a company to hit him up, but no one did. Again, for his looks. During the show, he got quite close with the dance mentor, Sea from Empath. He was so happy to have befriended someone of his favourite group, but whenever he talked about his favourite, Areum, he noticed how her face changed, no matter how much Sea tried to hide it. Dylan notices such things cause he's so intelligent, and he sensed that something fishy was going on with Areum and Empath. But when Areum approached him randomly, scouting him for her company, he forgot about it all, getting so excited that he finally had a chance to debut, and dance, dance and dance. He went to Sea to talk about the news without Areum knowing, and when he told her with the proudest smile on his face that he had joined Areum's company, her face completely changed. At that moment Dylan realised that he might have made the wrong decision.

Dylan kept visiting Sea in secret, and after lots of whining and questioning from Dylan, Sea started spilling the tea, one drop at a time. And then she introduced him to Jena. At that moment, Dylan's heart shattered, and he really grew a hatred for Areum. After seeing Jena in such a bad state and also seeing what Areum's doing to him and his groupmates, Dylan became determined to take her down. With the assistance of Sea, Dylan has a plan, it is very risky, so he has to wait for the right moment, but for now, he just plays dumb so Areum cares about him less and doesn't see him as threat anymore. He's lurking in the shadows, waiting to attack and take down the unsuspecting final boss.

Dylan is the only one that has been able to get to Yeonjin so far. They were just connected immediately. Both foreigners who have been dancing for most of their life. When they have time, they sometimes just dance and come up with choreographies together, just for fun. They share the same passion, and that's how they found each other.

TRaining background.  Dylan was treated well at Cube, but it wasn't good enough. They didn't take advantage of his spark of popularity after dancing 9, and got rid of him instead. Afterwards, he couldn't find a company for two years, and filled those two years with survival shows. First the flopping Boys24 where he got eliminated early, then produce 101 season 2, where he got noticed, and got quite far. It was hard on him as foreigner who has to purely rely on his skills, but produce brought him new friends, new fame and the opportunity offered by Areum. He was a talented all-rounder, and known to be a fan of empath, so Areum thought he was the perfect target. Dylan was thinking of going back to canada without saying anything and giving up on his idol dream after areum's abuse started, but then he met Jena, and seeing her made him change his mind. He's enduring all the abuse even though it is so hard for him, all for Jena, all for revenge for her.

He would be able to dance, dance, and dance more. After 6 years of struggling on his own, he could at least struggle together with others... and that ended up becoming quite literal.

— Dylan has first met Jena briefly back when he went to Empath fanmeets and concerts when she wasn't on hiatus yet. But yeah that isn't really concidered a meeting, right? Their actual first meeting was when Sea decided that it was a good thing to spill all the tea to Dylan. She entrusted him with the task to protect the rest of midn9te and to possibly take Areum down because he was smart and already knew stuff he didn't need to know just based on judging Sea's behavior. So after spilling some of the tea, Sea introduced Dylan to Jena. Jena had always been one of Dylan's favourites, but meeting her didn't make him excited. He knew that if Sea would introduce him to her, that she'd be a big part of the Areum abuse story, and it was true. Jena looked super pretty, and Dylan was stunned, but still looked terrible, skinny, empty and broken. Dylan's heart shattered on the spot, and then rage filled his mind, causing his blood to boil. He talked with Jena and Sea, and after the talk, Dylan was determined to not just ditch the others and go mia from the company, but actually stay there as some kind of undercover agent. He absolutely wanted to take Areum down for what she did to Jena and what she's doing to midn9te at that moment. Jena became his power engine to endure it all, without her realising.

— Development? Nahh. Ain't nobody got time for that.. The thing is: Dylan doesn't want to attempt stealing Jena's heart. At the beginning, he doesn't feel anything himself, but during his secret visits to Sea and her to share reports and just talk about the problems, attempting to help Jena stay on her feet, his heart starts to beat faster. He will slowly fall in love with the broken girl, but he'll be so focused on just trying to help her and the others and taking Areum down that he won't flirt or something at all. Jena herself doesn't even think about love, but maybe? After Areum gets taken down? Dylan just tries to make Jena feel better, taking baby steps. He simply feels so bad for her and feels like it's his duty to protect and take care of her, and to take revenge for her and midn9te. If it wasn't for her, he would've given up, ditched the company and gave up on his dream after a short time already.

— They will probably meet for the first time during the story (if it starts like at debut), and they will be kinda awkward acquaintances, but Dylan slowly but surely creeps into Jena's heart. He tries his very best to not be too much, and just befriend her at her pace. Whenever Jena needs support, Dylan will try to come by asap (but it's usually Sea who calls him) and comfort her. He shows her warmth, friendship, comfort and support, and of course a smile that heals. Jena won't care at first, but she'll become curious about Dylan in the future, and maybe he can help her slowly get her life together? If she allows it, of course. His presence is like a ray of sunshine in her dark life. Maybe the single ray can cause a whole sunrise in the far future.
