Help a new writer

Hello everyone here on this site, writers and readers.
So, I'm not going to prolonge, and bore you!

I'm very new to this site and to writing here!
I'm starting with my first fan-fiction and I need help choosing characters.
I used to write fan-fiction on other sites using characters that isn't too popular and because of that they never got the attention they were supposed to get.
So because I don't want that to happen here, I'm asking the writers ans readers to help me choosing the characters that would get the attention.

i would say to write about who and what you want to write. you should be your first reader, if you're going to just do it bc it's what others want, will you enjoy writing it? my stories don't gain much attention either but i get excited writing them bc they are in my mind for soooo long nd i just want to see them written down.

BUT if you really have to, nowadays, it's mostly BTS or EXO
