jaebin is one of those people who comes off stupidly happy. he's talkative and always has a good word for anyone around him. he's kind and attentive, and he remembers the small details about people he meets, like their coffee order and their nervous tics. he's someone who makes other people feel comfortable, and he tends to be a mom friend, protecting his close friends and providing a comforting presence if they need to rant or cry.

however, he does have a temper, and it's fairly short. he hates being told twice to do something, especially if he was going to be doing it anyway, and he hates it when other people don't listen to him or take his words seriously. when he's angry, he'll yell at people, but at least he doesn't throw anything around. he's also quite ambitious, which normally isn't a bad thing, but he'll do anything to rise in power, which can cause him to be ruthless and two-faced. but no matter what, he won't betray the people who have proven to be loyal to him.

jaebin was born in seoul and had a pretty normal life growing up. however, his parents weren't close, and their marriage was falling apart before they had jaebin. in a way, jaebin saved the family from falling apart, and soon after jaebin turned two, the family added a girl, saebin. the two kids grew up with no real troubles, and jaebin became class president when he was in 5th grade. however, from that point on, life became hard.

when jaebin was in 6th grade, his parents' marriage began to fall apart again. this time, nothing could save them, and they divorced. jaebin's dad took him to america, and saebin stayed with their mother in korea. in america, jaebin's dad was a researcher, so he didn't have much time to focus on jaebin. thankfully, jaebin's neighbors were korean too, and they had a kid who was just a year younger than jaebin. his name was jaejin, and they quickly became best friends. jaejin was born in america, and he helped jaebin learn english. their school friends affectionately called them 2jae.

even though jaebin stayed in touch with his sister and mother and had friends at school, he was still lonely. he liked america, but it wasn't his home, so after he graduated, he went back to korea for college. at first, he wasn't sure what he wanted to major in, but since his dad worked as a nuclear researcher, he already knew a lot about the topic, so he decided to major in that. before then, jaebin had no clue that his dad was famous in the research realm, and he was accepted into an elite program just because he was the famous lee byungchan's son. jaebin was pleasantly surprised at first, but he soon discovered that not everything was what it seemed.

this 'elite' program was actually a secret project that many governments were working together on. it aimed to use nuclear power to elicit superpowers from living things, including humans. by the time jaebin realized what was going on, it was too late, and he was already caught up in this mess. he had inadverdently signed up to monitor one of the experiments, one involving a fox. when the experiment backfired, the entire laboratory exploded, and jaebin was exposed to deadly amounts of radiation.

he survived, much to everyone's surprise, and promptly changed majors. no one was surprised there, but no one knew that the experiment had succeeded after all. the fox's powers had transferred into jaebin. for a long time, jaebin only focused on learning how to be an editor, but the day after he graduated, he came back to his apartment and found a letter in the mail that invited him to join undercover. [is there a legit way to join? feel free to do anything here because i'm not sure if you already have a plan in mind lol]. he's been with undercover for five years now.

jaebin edits joohyun's novels. since joohyun can't talk, jaebin assumes that his life has probably been hard and tries to be as gentle he can with him. despite everything, though, they're only colleague relationships.

1. he must stay human; the longer he stays in disguise, the more power he uses; if concentration is broken, he'll go back to how he usually looks

2. it uses a LOT of power and concentration; if concentration is broken, the illusion is broken; if anyone realizes that it's an illusion (even if it's his teammates) and says it out loud, the illusion is broken

3. he needs to maintain eye contact; it only works on people who are weak-willed; the charm can be faked so that he thinks it works but it didn't and then he'll be in danger

 -- i don't know what else i can do with this power... i have it, but i feel useless
"What is your occupation? Are you confident that you'll be able to balance your time between a normal life and a hero life?"
 -- i'm an editor. i don't have too much to do, usuall, so i can definitely take time out for this

"What can you contribute to the team? What are your strengths?" 
 -- i can change my appearance, so i can go undercover (pun intended) and find out information. i can also wheedle information out of people, if need be. i don't know if i'd ever need to use this, but i can also cat illusions.
"What are your weaknesses and how do you overcome them?" 
 -- my powers need extreme concentration, but that's usually not a problem for me. also, if i cast an illusion and the other person realizes, the illusion will be broken. i just make sure to make the illusion as realistic as possible, but if nothing else works, i need to fight them, and the only way to get out of that is to be good at fighting, i guess

"Do you have anything else you want to say?" 
 -- i'm not a big physical person, and i'm definitely not as young as some of the other kids here. if i'd get this job, i might need some physical training...
