Unpopular Opinions (Readers x Writers)

As a new writer, I'd like to apologize beforehand if this post might hurt anyone’s feelings (kokoro if I may). I just want to state my opinion. I’m not sure what had happened lately on this site, but from my observation, it is just wrong. Why?

1. This is a platform for people to enjoy themselves, reading or writing their thoughts out, sharing their ideas and make it readable as manuscript storytelling for the public. Since you find various genres and talented writers here, it is advantageous for our own growth.

- Writing could heal.
- Writing can help us to achieve our dreams.
- Reading could give us enjoyment and help us feel better.
- Reading can help us to have dreams and hopes for happiness.

2. As a writer, I am not sure what’s wrong with sharing things that we love and create for our readers. It’s our happiness and also theirs. If they hate or love it then that's that - it depends on them to stay or just leave.

3. This is AsianFanfics.
A.fan.fics. < Something we read and write as fan service. Writers use Idols in their story, so like it or not - different writers have their own way to portray or twist the characters. As we all know, this is a Fanfiction. Something we give a new breath in the story.

4. If you feel uncomfortable with something written on this platform please just leave it and stop reading the story. Despite seeing the tags, author’s note and knowing the writer’s strongest genre is, why do you still not unsubscribe to the thread when you don't like the story? Just move on and find another story that is to your liking. You will find happines in another story.

Again, before someone mentions it to attack me. I’m not supporting , , and other triggering stuff. NO. You need to know the difference between reality and creation (fantasy), where writers dibble those concepts into their story. They give them a new face, new form, and new development. A few writers did their research, but some didn’t. However, we cannot judge the way they write their stories. Talents are hard to find and harder to shape, knowing that, every writer is special and have their own ways to tell the story - it is their creations after all. You should be lucky that you could find and read good storyline in here without paying for it. You should be happy that you are given choices in picking the genre that you wants to read. No one will force or nudge you, it’s your own will to choose what you want to read. So choose wisely, have a self reflect - minor or adult.

However, writing Triggering genre isn’t wrong or good. I’ve no right to say it. It depends on your belief and your mindset as readers to adapt it. Don’t blame the writers, please be open minded and look at your surroundings. There are movies, manga with those genres. If the genre is prohibited to be published then why don't you say something to the movie director, manga artist and the famous novelist out there? You can’t right? You can’t reach them personally and sometimes they didn’t even read your opinions or know your venting ever exists.

Just because you have quick access with the writers in here, and you know they will read it because you have some connections with them through comments and stuff. It doesn’t mean you have the right to take advantage on them. This is WRONG. You need to know the boundaries between reader and writer, like student and teacher. You need to have mutual respect for each other. We have feelings too and some of the writers aren’t good to handle pressure and even for a professional writer, they seek helps and time to heal then raise again. Though, it's fine to share your opinion and point of views but know the difference between judgment, criticism, and dissatisfaction.

Writing isn’t as simple as you read it. We spend hours in front of our laptop to think about and edit the plot. As a writer, I feel bad for everyone in general. Because we can never please everyone equally.

5. Everyone will have this experience. When you read the story, and you will feel sad, you cry, you feel hatred towards certain characters, it gives you butterflies, it triggers you and so on. That happens because the writers have successfully dragged you and planted newly made emotions in you to fit the storyline, NOT as a reader but as the main character.

A few characters will leave a good and bad impact in us, and sometimes it stays for a week when you remember the scene from what you had read. This is normal, my friends. This is normal because you already fell in love with the writing, actions, situation and the developments in the story. You pick the genre and you decided to read - you need to see things through. It isn't real.

All being said, we use Idols as the main characters in fanfics and the writers ONLY use their face and appearance. It’s a writer job to give them a new personality and behaviour in the story. The character that you read in the story isn’t the same person you see on the stage. Fanfiction isn’t real life but a fantasy, that's why it's called fanFICTION, I repeat, FICTION, where everything in the story is a pure creation from creative minds. If you can't even differentiate fiction from reality, please just...think again. ^^

Again, and again…Why I am doing this?
I just want to share this and it depends on you to agree or disagree. My heart calls to the writers out there, please don’t stop writing. Writing is another way for me to escape from my real life because I know I wouldn't be successful as a real writer or would I publish a novel. I create and share because I want to give happiness and invite you into my world (imagination) . I want to add a lot more but it might takes 12k.

Sincerely,
A noob writer (amateur),
Tycasthea.

NOTE: We have our own responsibility to read and avoid a certain things. Life is short so enjoy with the things you love the most. Be kind, respectful and smart.

My heart goes out to this blog and what it voices out. As a writer too, or a person who tries to write... I totally feel everything you've said. I've come to this site to share stories of my OTP. I never imagined I'd write this much stories. Writing is not a job, it is a form of healing actually. But sometimes, it feels a bit pressuring especially when you have readers waiting and anticipating updates from you. I'm thankful (always thankful) to ny readers. They inspire me to go on and write. My thinking is, if there are peole who won't appreciate whay I write, I'll just cherish those who do.

Thank you for relaying all of this author-nim. ❤ It truly is encouraging. :)

I feel the same. Readers should definitely realize writing a piece is not as easy as reading it. People are getting bitter and bitter everyday and they bash each other's works in the name of constructive criticism. I hope many gets to read this blog. Best of luck with your story :))

Yes yes yes.
I was reading every line and nodding. literally because every line is so true.
It hurts when someone bashes your work. I had had enough share of salty people here in aff. There was one who literally told me what to put in the next chapter which was very very annoying. I dearly hope he/she reads this blog.
I hope nothing bad happened which led you to write this. No matter what they say, your story is unique and it is all yours. So you do whatever you want with them! Just like you said, if they don't like it, they are free to not read. :DD

Aww, sweetie, thanks!
Someone had to say it, honestly. Everyone should know that no one is here to please anyone. I hope a lot others see this blog and stop bashing each other's work. Constructive criticism is fine but sometimes we cross the line and make the writers feel bad about their very own creations and that should not happen. I very much believe your works could make you hella successful. Just hang in there! Best of luck!

This is probably every writer's thoughts once in a while. Writing isn't easy, and seeing positive feedback makes us smile. Seeing negative feedback and comments make us upset or worried. Writers immediately feel concerned about their plots and characters. While some writers may take constructive criticism easily, other might not. A writer is a writer thanks to their creativity, but also due to their readers. We need to support each other, so that both sides gain happiness and joy.
Thank you for sharing this blog, it speaks out about opinions most people can't easily say. <3
Best of luck with your writing, and this goes to all the writers out there.
