//// chOOSE YOUR WORDS WISELY. IT DETERMINES WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN ////
full name / Choi Yian
other names /
► Noona - Jinri joyfully calls her that when he does get to see her.
► Sub-Human Slayer - The name says it all. Yian gained that reputation due to the fact that she has indeed killed and disposed of a great sum of Laguz.
► Devil Incarnate - Army members, especially those in her division, call her that for her strict and harsh attitude and training.
► Captain Yian - Despite that, most of the army members respect her for they see how she genuinely wants those in her division to improve and recognize her talent in battle.
► Scarface - Those who hate/despise her call her that mockingly, making fun of her imperfection. If they're in a lower position than her then Yian would teach them a lesson (which is usually sparring their butts off with them being bruised all over by the end of it) but if they're higher then she doesn't pay them any heed.
birthdate / (07|20|1990)

appearance /
► Yian rarely ever smiles so don’t expect to ever receive one from her cause that’d be asking for a miracle to happen. She has short chocolate brown hair, the most she’d let it grow is a little up to her shoulder before cutting it short again. She’s tall, standing at 170 cm, and she may look lanky but don’t let it deceive you, Yian can easily slay an animal twice her size. Her skin is tanned due to the amount of time she spends outdoor practicing or leading her unit. She has a claw scar spread on the whole left side of her face (like this), which intimidates many army members, especially the rookies.

fashion sense /
► On normal days, when she's not in battle or sent on an assignment or mission, then you'd find Yian in an almost military-style uniform dress like these (1 - 2 - 3) and with knee length black leather boots.

elaboration /
► Choi Yian wasn't born with a piercing glare or her “Sub-human slayer” reputation. She came to be like this... And it all started that one day. Maybe it wasn't the day that her father became abusive, but that was the trigger. The day her father ran away and the tiger sub-human chased her, trying to kill her, that was the birth to her new self; no longer the sweet and cheerful girl she was.
► Yian is really strong-willed, she doesn't give up even when things get tough. She’d hold the burden upon herself, taking it as the duty of a general, even if it causes her extreme stress. She strives to achieve her goal of attaining a world without those sub-humans, but really nothing is quite as satisfying to her as rising to the challenge of each obstacle in the way to her goal. Tasks or missions that are long aren't so much of a problem to her. They might be annoying, but she can manage. Yian, despite her scared face that intimidates people, oozes with charisma and confidence, making others look up to and respect her. As a general, Yian is very committed to her position and division members. Putting the responsibility upon herself to train them so they’d improve and be beneficial members to the army, even though it isn’t her obligation to personally train them. This makes her a very accountable captain, where the army members can put their trust in her.
► Stubborn and determined, once Yian is set on something, let it be a belief there's a good chance you won't ever get her to budge, but it's for your benefit you should be on the same side as her. If she has her sights set on something, it would be hard to shake her off of it. Also, showing weakness to Yian is not an option. At all. She's too independent, mostly refusing help from others. Unlike most people who are far more tactful, when Yian speaks, she speaks the way she means it. There's no point in sugarcoating things in her opinion. If you want things done, you had better put it straight out there and as short as possible. So when she isn't quiet, she'll be very honest and completely straight-forward.
► Yian became a very dark and sadistic person in order to accomplish her goal. She likes to be dominant at all times. Also, she is distant from her own emotional expression and is sometimes downright scornful of others'. She often tramples others' feelings, sometimes inadvertently hurting Jinri too, especially in emotionally charged situations. She isn't the type of person to talk and converse freely with other people. She is more reserved and finds silence to be more comforting than words. Nonetheless, the only people Yian communicates with are Jinri, Yuri, and Donghae. Most people shove back when they get pushed, but Yian is more like impale you with my axe, with an emotionless look plastered on her face. She becomes physically aggressive once her short tempted patience is worn out or in battle. Talking is something she would rather avoid, more so because actions are spoken louder than words. Her anger is very cool and collected, and is, perhaps, a bit too calculative for comfort. Yian is a very spiteful person thus her years of deep hatred for those sub-humans. Now being a general, there are many good aspects of it but also cons that balance it. Ever since she got the position, she’s been holding on to many burdens which often causes her to be stressed.

background
► Yian was born to a middle family in Dalbyeol. Her father was a blacksmith while her mother was a seamstress. Yian lived a normal life; went to school, had friends to play with, and a family that loved and cared for her. She regularly spent her time observing her mother knitting dresses and her father practicing using various weapons, with her occasionally joining them. She was extremely gentle and optimistic most of the time. Influenced by her mother and a true testament of modesty, she was willing to take blame and punishment for others in order for her to be someone who does not hurt people, but rather absorb the torment. Life was all good for her until the day her mother gave birth to her baby brother. Yian’s mother lost too much blood while giving birth that she ended up dying. Yian’s father, who loved his wife so much, spiraled into despair at his wife’s sudden death. He ended up drinking his pain away until he was frequently drunk. With her father not being in the best condition, Yian, at age 12, stopped going to school and took it upon herself to take care of her baby brother. She even named him herself, seeing as her father had no interest in doing so, Choi Jinri.
► As the days went by, her father became worse. He went from falling unconscious on the floor from drinking to taking out his anger and slandering Jinri. “That little bastard is the reason my angel is no longer with me! He should’ve died instead! Where the is he??!” And Yian, in an attempt to keep her father away from hurting or even merely seeing Jinri, would always be the victim of his wrath and get pushed and kicked. The bruises she got from him were all temporary, but it didn’t ease the pain she felt when she’d try to ignore her soring body and cradle the weeping Jinri to sleep, hoping to god his cries don’t wake up her unconscious father.
► Yian kept up with this routine for 5 years. Every single day, thoughts of running away with Jinri filled her head and desire. However, where would they go if they did? Though she didn’t have to pounder much on that for her father stopped coming back home. Confused, Yian counted the days he was gone. Days turned to weeks to months to years. Her father never once showed up again. He had runaway and left them just like that. Yian was filled with mixed feeling varying from relief to anger. Thus, she had to get through life on her own. Yian got a job helping in a tailor and kept Jinri with her kind neighbor while she worked. Then one day, as she was coming back home after picking up Jinri from her neighbor’s house, she saw a tiger Laguz banging on their house door. She approached him and asked what he wanted which he replied, “Where’s that , Choi Seunghoon?! I’m gonna kill that er!!” She told him that he had runaway and that he should leave. Upon hearing the news, the Laguz man went bizarre before saying, “Alright then, if I can’t get my revenge on him then his kids will do.” Hearing that, Yian was startled. He stepped towards them and Yian was denying his statement thinking he must’ve been joking. Right before she knew it, he was swinging his claws towards them. Yian quickly hugged Jinri close to her chest shielding him from the attack; however, she got scratched on the left side of her face. Her whole body screamed at her to run and she did, ignoring the pain and blood oozing down her face. She ran like her life depended on it which it technically did, not looking back knowing that the Laguz is following them. She saw the arena not far and ran towards the building, in hope a fighter there might help them. Once she reached the arena, she saw a teenage boy practicing and did the only thing she could think of. She hid behind him and desperately whispered, “Please save us.” The boy looked confused and a nonchalant, but when the Laguz came into the arena, he defended them from him and easily beat him unconscious. Yian stared at him in amazement as he fought. When she thanked the boy, he stared at her face long before saying, “These sub-humans are monsters that should be rid of. I’m sorry you had to go through that.” Right then another young boy entered the arena yelling, “CHANGKYUN!” This caught Yian by surprise as she looked at the boy who saved them and said, “Changkyun? As in Prince Changkyun?” He slightly smiled at her as he turned to the other boy telling him, “Jooheon, make sure she gets her scratch treated and help with whatever they need. As for that sub-human, take it to the dungeons to rot.” And with that he left, leaving them with the boy, Jooheon.
► Jooheon escorted her to the nurse where healers tended to her scratch and she was told that it would sadly never fade and will be a permanent scar on her face. He also looked up on Yian’s situation and discovered that their house rent was long overdue and so he also helped them in living accommodations where he introduced her to a girl her age, Yuri, that they’re going to be living with. Yuri was very welcoming and while Yian was thankful for that, she couldn’t help but distance herself. After the Laguz incident and Prince Changkyun’s words, she found herself changing, no longer the sweet and cheerful girl she was. She also hated how weak and defenseless she felt when they were attacked, so she decided to enlist into the army to toughen up. Also, she discovered a newfound goal, rid the world of these sub-humans. In time, she saw how genuine and caring Yuri was with both her and Jinri, so she opened up to her. Soon the two girls grew close like sisters. In the army, Yian saw the wyvern riders and fell in love, so she decided to follow that path. She started from the bottom, being bullied and pushed over for her scar, and worked hard on her way to the top. Yian spent late nights and exerted blood, sweat, and tears on practicing. In time, she earned her ‘Sub-human slayer’ reputation and became the devil general of the army’s wyvern division.

relationships /

► Choi Jinri | 17y. | Beorc | Axe Knight | Thunder | The only person who Yian would undoubtedly do anything for (she'd be questioning that later but anyway) and the reason to why she's working so hard and endlessly. Yes, she does feel bad for not having much time to spend with her brother but that's the consequences for what she chose. It pains and bothers her to see Jinri sad when she either tells him that she's busy or has to go, but she justifies it by saying that all she's doing is for him, for him to have an easier life than she did and pave the path for him. Mostly, she's thankful that Jinri doesn't argue or throw tantrums for her little appearance, but knows better that the boy doesn't like it despite him not confronting her. Yuri constantly tells her about how she sees Jinri look up at the Wyvern Riders in fascination and talks about them in admiration and tells Yian to consider letting the boy join her division which she'd answer with a hard no saying that it's dangerous and he's still young. Overall, Yian loves her brother to bits and is overprotective of him, so don't you dare lay a finger on him on her watch unless you want a beating.

► Kwon Yuri | 29y. | Beorc | Sentinel | Fire | The only friend that was able to successfully break Yian's thick walls. Yuri openly accepted to let Yian and her brother live with her in her house and ever since, she's become like a second older sister to Jinri and best friends with Yian. Yuri is the opposite of Yian. She's known to be a kind and cheerful general, a goddess as the army members call her, so people find the contrast weird when they see them together, but the two girls don't give a . In years, despite their differences, they learned to accept and somewhat adapt to each other. As Yuri is a likable person, she does, however, get on Yian's nerves when she keeps questioning her if what she's doing is really worth neglecting Jinri for. Her response is always something like, "You know better than anyone else that I'm doing all this for him, so he could live in a safer world and have a better future." Yuri doesn't agree with Yian's ideals but it's not her place to intrude any further so she'd stay quiet. Another thing about Yuri that annoys Yian is when she keeps insisting that she gets "vibes" from Donghae when he's with Yian that he likes her (she's not wrong) and actually ships them. She'd make jokes like whether she should call him brother-in-law, when he stands up for Yian she'd whisper to her friend "Aww your hubby is here to the rescue~", and etc.

► Lee Donghae | 32y. | Beorc | Bow Knight | Anima | Donghae's younger brother, Lee Jeno, is best friends with Jinri so you could say the two were somewhat bound to meet. Their first encounter wasn't so bad for Donghae stood up to a higher-up class commander for calling Yian 'Scarface' and then he tried to start a friendly conversation with her, which surprised Yian since it was different from all the intimidated or scornful attitude she received from others. Ever since, Donghae would occasionally come to Yian to talk and the two bonded over their struggles of being the eldest sibling raising their younger brother on their own and sometimes exchange advice, mostly Donghae does. Though when Donghae would dramatically sigh and say that "life is damn hard", she'd shut him up by telling him that he shouldn't be complaining since his family is at least wealthy. Yian is used to Donghae's flirty ways and would just flip him off not giving it any thought since he's like that with all girls, but little does she know that when it comes to her Donghae is dead serious.

► Lee Jooheon | 25y. | Beorc | Sniper | Anima | Yian met Jooheon when Changkyun took her to him telling his retainer to help her. And so, Jooheon guided her to Yuri and thus she was able to start a new life thanks to them. Yian is grateful for his help then. Now, their relationship is just business-like and formal. The two are often told of how similar in personalities they are and they don't deny it cause well it's true and they see it themselves too.

► Im Changkyun | 22y. | Beorc | King & Dark Archsage | Light | The day Changkyun saved her and Jinri from the Tiger Laguz was the day Yian owed her life to the then-prince. Ever since, she's vowed to serve him and his cause no matter what and sworn loyalty to him. So when he became the King of Dalbyeol and announced the decree, while most had doubts about it, Yian totally agreed with it and doesn't question any of his choices. She did notice King Changkyun's total change in personality but she thinks it was bound to happen.

trivia /
► Likes: wyverns, flying, Dalbyeol her homeland, seeing her division members improve, high places, looking at the capital from the highest mountain, challenges, black coffee.
► Dislikes: sub-humans, stormy weather, seafood, being disrespected or looked down upon, boring meetings, traitors, cowards, slackers, showoffs, drinking alcohol.
► Hobbies: flying, training/working out, origami.
► Habits: maintaining an expressionless face in public, sighing a lot, raising a brow when someone says or does something she doesn't like, rubbing her temples when she gets headaches.
► Is ambidextrous, so she can use either hand to yield an axe or lance.
► When she's in high places, she gets the feeling that she wants to jump off from that place but doesn't because she's still sane.
► Her wyvern is light yellow almost golden scaled with green eyes and is a bit larger in size than normal wyverns. His name is Meros.
► Due to high stress, Yian often gets severe headaches and sometimes the pain gets too much that she'd hide in an empty room, not wanting anyone seeing her in a vulnerable state, and sit on a corner nuzzling herself like a ball while holding her head. She'd sit there until the pain lessens.
► Drinking is out of the question for Yian. Her headaches are bad enough as it is and it reminds her of someone she doesn't wanna think of (her dad).
► Affection, physical or mental, is a weird concept to her. She never received any growing up so that's why she finds it hard to show any to Jinri or Yuri.

what does your character think of changkyun? /
► "King Changkyun is fighting for a cause, a good cause. Some might not agree with it but they'll see the result after we win the war and dispose of all Sub-Humans and Branded." Yian then remembers of his reputation as monster king and how many are afraid of him. She really doesn't understand it. "King Changkyun did change after becoming the ruler, but why are people surprised? A good king can't be all weak and fragile. He needs to be tough and assertive." She nods her head, convinced with her thought, "His change is for the good of Dalbyeol."

are they afraid of the medallion bringing forth the goddess wrath again?  /
► "That's nothing but a folktale. I've got real problems to worry about." She sighs as she rubs the side of her temple, sensing a headache coming soon.

would you turn your back on everything you believe in to fight for what's right? /

► "I am fighting for what's right. Those Sub-Humans are nothing but monsters. Branded I'm not sure of since it's not their fault but their disgraceful Beorc parent's fault. But King Changkyun deemed them in the decree as well, so what he says goes."

would you save five strangers or one sibling? /
► In a second she answers, "Jinri."

uniform /
► Yian’s uniform is basically an armor. Her armor is white metal with gold designs on it. The high neck has white ruffles and the same piece falling from her shoulders up until her elbows. Tight black pants with white belts holding on her armor tied on her waist, hips, and extending until a little above her knees. A long black glove covering her arms with an armor piece tied on her forearm. A gold metal piece on her forehead with five spikes coming out of it, resembling a Wyverns head. White metal boots with the same gold design as her armor and then finally she tops her look with a black Laguz wolf fur cape that reaches up to her thighs. The cape tends to infuriate many Laguz when they see it. (armor looks like this but the shoulder part isn’t sticking out as much and headpiece like this)

a typical day /
► Yian wakes up really early in the morning, before Yuri and Jinri, eats a simple breakfast before changing her clothes and leaving the house with a bucket full of beef. She heads to the wyvern stables to feed Meros and clean his area then practice a bit by herself until the members of her division come pilling in the training grounds. When they do, if she’s not assigned on any mission or has to attend a meeting, she’d watch over them while they train and give them tips in her own harsh way to help them improve. On her break, Yuri would sometimes come to eat lunch with her then she goes back to the training grounds. When it’s night and everyone are heading back to their homes, to blow off steam, Yian would ride her wyvern to the top of the highest mountain and she’d sit there looking down at Dalbyeol. It’s the only time she can have some peace and quiet and be alone and stress-free. When she feels at ease, it’s already late so she’d fly back to the wyvern stables and feed Meros a bucket of Dragon fruit before heading back home and going to bed, making sure to be quiet in order not to wake up Yuri or Jinri.

final words / Hope you like the very first wyvern rider! I'm really contemplating on whether to make an app for either Jinri or Donghae or not asdfghjkl what do you think? I'm all up for making one if you want, just take your pick on who you want and find more interesting!
scene reqs /
► Her just being the devil captain she is while training.
► Donghae enters on her when she's hiding in a room during one of her severe headaches and refuses to leave her in that state and either helps her get through it or drags her stubborn to the healers.
► She enters the wyvern stables one night to find Jinri there and a cautious wyvern almost going to attack the younger boy so by instinct she quickly tackles the boy, saving him from the wyverns attack. They get up and Yian is about to scold the hell out of Jinri but stops upon seeing him so terrified with tears streaming down his cheeks and so she hugs him instead and decides to scold him for it another time. She then notices that she rather got scratched from the wyvern and thus gets another claw scar.
► One day, as Yian notices Jinri in a slump, she takes the boy out on a night ride on Meros and they go to the mountain that she always goes to when she herself feels out of it. There, the two siblings have a deep talk that they haven't done so for a very long time. Jinri opens up to Yian on a lot of matters then he tells her about how his army members keep talking about her being a Sub-Human Slayer. Jinri knows of Yian slaughtering many Laguz (her cape is a give away) but deep down he refuses to believe that his sister is a cold-hearted killer. Yian sighs and tells him that she's doing it for a good cause, that they're monsters who killed many Beorc. Shocked and mad at his sister he yells, "You call them monsters for killing Beorcs but you go and kill twice as much of them! How is what you're doing any different? It just... It just makes you a monster too!" And so the two argue.
► Yian gets put in a position where she has to choose between losing her brother or breaking her loyalty to Changkyun.
