jinhyeon may not be young, but his body has some femininity to it still. though everyone can tell how he loses weight pretty fast, making him just below a healthy weight (his weight fluctuates depending on his abuse with dongho and diets within the company). his skin is rather fair and hardly has any acne. his hair is soft to the touch, barely having anything done to it to ruin its natural softness. jinhyeon's skin may be tan, but sometimes in the light, it'll look sickly and if you look closely enough you may even see a hint of bruises healing on his body. his stomach seems to sink in a little when he's shirtless (not too much, but you can see it). he also has deep dimples which show themselves even when he smiles softly.

his left earlobe is pierced once and his body is void of tattoos.

extremely selfless, that is what jinhyeon is. all he wants is everyone's happiness and nothing in return. because everyone's happiness is his happiness. jinhyeon is full of passion. whether its dancing or writing, he's passionate about life. he's eager to learn, learn, and learn about new things to become passionate about. he hardly lets anything get to him when he gets passionate over something. he is very determined. he knows exactly when she when he can do something. even if he fails, he'll get right back up and try again. jinhyeon's imagination is still high. being in the kind of relationship he's in, it's what kept him from loneliness most of the time. his imagination keeps the other dm20 members in spirits and helps brighten up situations when times are tough.

probably together with his quietness and imagination, jinhyeon is usually found with his head up in the clouds. he is easily distracted and it takes a lot of patience to keep him focusing on one thing. he has gotten better over the years, but he still has his moments. though don't mistake him absentmindedness as being stupid...because he's not. jinhyeon is very much a perfectionist. if one little thing is misplaced, he will do whatever it takes to put it back in it's place. jinhyeon is actually a very quiet person, hardly making much noise or announcing his presence whenever he enters a room. he prefers to keep to himself due to his years of abuse and prefers to have people naturally flock to him rather than make himself known. because of his quietness, jinhyeon tends to be seen as awkward. it also didn't help that he had been alone for so long and suddenly having people surround him with actually love, he wasn't used to being so social. he hates crowded places and unwanted attention, so being put it such places he doesn't really know what to do and ends up being in everyone's way.

BACKGROUND:

jinhyeon was born to loving korean couple in busan, south korea. his childhood was normal, maybe except for a few bullying incidents in school. his grades were average and he had an average amount of friends. jinhyeon enjoyed school actually, it was a place where he could learn and hang out with friends.

though his life started to get hard in high school. most of the friends he made in middle school moved to another city or transferred to different school, leaving him practically alone in high school. it was hard until he met son dongho. dongho was his savior. he protected him from bullies and gave him company that he didn't have anymore. even though dongho hardly talked to jinhyeon, they weren't even in the same grade! but jinhyeon took anything that he could have, just grateful for having dongho in his life.

as high school went on, dongho started to become touchier with him, but jinhyeon ignored it. nothing alerted jinhyeon until much later. before dongho graduated, he told jinhyeon that was going to audition for a company to be a kpop idol. not wanting to be left behind he followed dongho to pledis entertainment. despite being seventeen, the judges of pledis could see the raw ability the boy had for dancing. that was the start of his and dongho's trainee days.

as jinhyeon finally graduated, that was when dongho attacked. he had been waiting and waiting, now that jinhyeon was finally of age he could get what he originally wanted. and that was also when jinhyeon perfect world shattered. cuddling and enjoying each other's company turned to belittling and touching against his will. dongho broke jinhyeon little by little until he was nothing, but pieces. in 2014, he tried to get away. filing for a transfer to wm entertainment (after going through another audition, of course), jinhyeon thought he could get away from dongho, but it wasn't to be as he followed jinhyeon shortly after.

✏️ jinhyeon is a pretty damn good makeup artist. it all started out because he needed a way to cover those visible bruises. soon enough, no one could see them. in order to cover up why he own so much makeup, he began to apply makeup to his face on a daily basis to the point that many girl trainees got jealous and wanted to his secrets.

✏️ freestyle dance, he's pretty darn good at it and it will definitely bring a smile to your face as he likes to keep people entertained...now if only you can get him to do in the first place.

TRIVIA:

✏️ jinhyeon loves magical girl animes. if you need help finding a magical girl anime, he's your guy. animes like shugo chara, sailor moon, precure, pretear, and card captor sakura.

✏️ he owns all the sailor moon episodes. old, new, reboot, all of them.

✏️ has a journal where he writes down what happens each day (in other words, dongho's abuse) before going to bed. it helps keeps him sane. it's his treasure and no one is allowed to touch it.

✏️ jinhyeon doesn't have good eyesight. he wears contacts, but they sometimes irritate his eyes and he wears glasses instead.

✏️ his favorite kdrama of all time is it's okay, that's love. it's where he began to stan do kyungsoo. ever since then, kyungsoo has became a role model to him. his is kyungsoo's biggest fan.

✏️ ocd about cleanliness. he needs to take at least two showers a day and keep the dorms clean. his ocd stems from dongho. he usually scrubs himself raw when taking showers.

✏️ jinhyeon bought a pet to help him with his anxiety. meet peaches, a simple leopard gecko that does her job. jinhyeon tells peaches everything and is usually with him on a daily basis in the dorms.

✏️ jinhyeon doesn't like to talk about his time in pledis or nu'est for that matter. because nu'est actually witnessed dongho abusing jinhyeon, but they didn't do anything. they actually avoided jinhyeon as much as possible, like he was a disease (one of the main reasons why he stopped being their backup dancer). he freezes and tries to change the subject whenever nu'est is involved.

✏️ despite that, he has no hatred towards seventeen or pristin and is actually a big fan of them both.

✏️ one of the many reasons that is holding jinhyeon back from going to the police about his abuse is because dongho is the son of a police commander in busan. whenever jinhyeon had tried to fight back against dongho, he would use that against him to make him compliant.

✏️ has enrolled in a small online college. he wanted to go to an actual one, but dongho wouldn't let him. plus now with debut coming up, online classes would be much easier for jinhyeon to handle with upcoming schedules.

but then dongho transfered to wm and jinhyeon closed back in on himself, immersed himself into training so no one would question just why was their bruises covering his arms, why did he limp in dance practice? it helped that dongho was so charismatic and great in just about everything, jinhyeon was overshadowed...but hyeonju instantly knew something was wrong. he cornered jinhyeon one day, when he noticed a healing bruise that looked too much like hands around his neck one day. jinhyeon broke down as he was cornered, told hyeonju everything.

to say that hyeonju turned out to be jinhyeon's best friend is not enough to described their relationship. hyeonju is practically jinhyeon's mom and protector. though he can only protect so much...

so far, only hyeonju knows about jinhyeon's abuse.
