APPEARANCE :

— Kent has chestnut brown hair that he usually styles up, off of his forehead. His eyebrows are thick and straight above his striking sea green eyes. He has a strong, sharp jawline and is clean-shaven. He also has deep dimples that appear when he smiles. He is relatively tall and has wide shoulders. Due to being an athletic guy and regularly working out, his body is lean and muscular.

STYLE :

— Kent doesn't care much about fashion and is usually in uniform when he's on the clock. His closet is filled with mostly T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, jeans, and sweatpants. When it's winter, he incorporates a dark-colored trench coat into his outfit and that is the most stylish he ever looks for a casual occasion.

Kent is a naturally witty person and is quite the smooth talker when he chooses to be, which has helped him out of many sticky situations at Hogwarts and during his missions as a Hit Wizard. Over the years, many girls have also fallen for his charms, which gradually developed as he matured into an adult. Kent is very good at complimenting others as well, but he will not do it as lip service; he truly means every compliment he has ever given. Kent also does his fair share of teasing the people closest to him, like his younger sister and his best friends. With his younger sister especially, more insults are tossed around than compliments are, but they are all said in good fun.

Like most Gryffindors, Kent is quite fearless and does not back down at the sight of danger. Especially as he's grown older, he has come to realize that he thrives in dangerous situations and he welcomes the rush of adrenaline that flows through him when facing danger. However, this fearlessness does not mean Kent will needlessly put himself in danger for the sake of being an adrenaline junkie; he does have a sense of self-preservation. Kent is also fiercely protective and will go to the ends of the earth to save others, especially his loved ones. This includes teaching others to protect themselves as best as they can, since Kent realizes that a knight in shining armor will not always be there to save the day.

While he is a bit more level-headed than the average Gryffindor, Kent also possesses an impulsive streak that used to land him in a lot of trouble when he was attending Hogwarts and during his first few years as a Hit Wizard. It generally takes a lot to rile him up, since he grew up with a younger sister who loves to . But once the fire has been lit, Kent cannot be stopped and he will jump headfirst into proving himself as worthy or defending a friend's honor. Even if the challenge is stupid or petty, he throws out the rational side of himself and lets his impulses take over. As an adult, Kent is better at reining in his impulsiveness when he knows the outcome will be absolutely detrimental, but sometimes, it's too much to control and he automatically says or does what he feels is right at that moment.

Whenever he has a goal he needs to reach, Kent will work towards it single-mindedly and he refuses to accept defeat as an answer. His determination is unmatched by most and this fuels him to keep going, even when others are giving up and the end goal seems far away. Kent's idealistic outlook helps fuel his boundless determination and he is generally quite optimistic when challenged, no matter how difficult it is. For him, as long as he does his best, things will eventually work out. This mentality has been proven to be true for most of Kent's life, barring a few failures here and there. Knowing that he should be a good role model for his younger sister and other underclassmen or juniors also motivates Kent to continue persevering, even when it may be easier to just give up.

Despite being a charmer, Kent can also be a bit oblivious when it comes to others not completely syncing up with him and several misunderstandings have come about because of his naive assumptions. Since he mostly surrounds himself with like-minded people who are outspoken and opinionated, he forgets that not everyone appreciates brutal honesty, even if the criticism is constructive. Kent sometimes says things that may seem rude or presumptuous, especially if he is talking to someone who doesn't really know him, but these words do not have malicious intent. He is simply being straightforward and Kent expects the same from others when they speak to him.

BACKGROUND : Kent was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on January 8, 1970, into the House of Sylvester. The Sylvesters originated from Britain, but Winfred and Glinda moved to Sweden shortly after the First Wizarding War started. Because Glinda was pregnant with their first child, Winfred wanted to keep her safe from Voldemort and the Death Eaters. Even though his job as an Auror required that he fight against the Dark Wizards, his first priority was protecting his family. Glinda's younger sister joined them to help take care of Glinda so that Winfred could travel back and forth from Sweden to Britain to do his part in the war. Soon after Winfred and Glinda settled down in Stockholm, Kent was born. Three years later, Kent's younger sister, Evera, became the newest addition to the Sylvester family.

When Kent was ten years old, the Sylvesters moved to London after the First Wizarding War ended and Voldemort disappeared. It was more difficult for Kent to adjust than it was for Evera, mostly because Kent had a stronger attachment to Stockholm that his younger sister did. It was weird for him to adjust to speaking English all of the time instead of switching between English and Swedish as he usually did. Luckily, the knowledge that his letter from Hogwarts would soon arrive made it easier for Kent to accept the transition, having heard numerous stories from his parents when they were students at the prestigious wizarding school, and he eventually learned to embrace his new home.

One year later, Kent officially received his letter on his eleventh birthday and the occasion was joyous for the entire family. Although he was sad to leave his family, Kent was also extremely ecstatic that he would be taking his first proper steps into becoming a full-fledged wizard. He was sorted into Gryffindor, and soon became best friends with two of his roommates: Preston Kane and Xander Orton. The trio got into a fair amount of trouble throughout their time at Hogwarts, mostly because of Xander who had a reckless streak that landed him the title of "student with the most detentions" in their year. Preston was the calmest of the three best friends, but he was still extremely competitive, especially when it came to Care of Magical Creatures.

Growing up, Kent was only a casual fan of the Nordic National Quidditch Team, since he didn't really have anyone else to talk about Quidditch with. However, after his first Flying class, Kent completely fell in love with the sport and he decided that he would be on the Gryffindor Quidditch team one day. He begged his parents to buy him a broom when he went home for Christmas break during his first year and he got Evera to start playing as well, since he needed someone to practice with. Kent trained as much as he could and his hard work eventually paid off when he managed to make the Quidditch team in his fourth year as Gryffindor's Keeper. He stayed on the team until he graduated, even becoming Captain when he was a seventh year. Kent took great pride in successfully climbing to the top, with the support of his best friends and his younger sister, and while winning the Quidditch Cup would have been the icing on the cake, he was satisfied with what he did manage to accomplish as an amateur athlete.

Since he didn't plan on being a professional Quidditch player, Kent studied to be a Hit Wizard instead. He heavily considered becoming an Auror like his father, whom he greatly admires, but later realized that he liked how Hit Wizards were more combative and less investigative. Kent made sure to receive the necessary grades to apply for the program after graduation and was accepted into the 1988 intake. He went through two years of rigorous training that was mostly combat-based after passing several psychological screening tests to ensure that he was not of nervous disposition. Although the Hit Wizard training program is not as intensive as the Auror training program, many people still drop out throughout the two years since they are unable to keep up with the strict schedule; in Kent's intake, more than half of them dropped out. By the end of the training program, he was ranked fifth best and was placed in the main rotation of Hit Wizards.

As a member of the main rotation, Kent has been sent on dozens of missions to round up criminals or provide back-up during Auror investigations. He is part of five squads that shuffle the members for each mission, based off of the strengths needed for the situation. Most of Kent's assigned missions are within the United Kingdom, but the rest are based in Sweden, due to his language fluency and cultural understanding of the country. After Evera and Drake, who both entered the 1991 intake after graduating Hogwarts, completed their training program, they moved in with Kent who had rented out a small flat in downtown London since he was no longer allowed to live in the training dorms. Evera and Drake also joined the main rotation of Hit Wizards, so they are sometimes shuffled into Kent's squads. Evera lived with Kent and Drake for three years before renting out her own flat nearby, since she wanted to become independent and live on her own. However, she does frequently visit her two former flatmates and spends almost all of her free time at their place.

Kent is doing his best to fulfill his duty as a Hit Wizard employed by the Ministry of Magic, but once it becomes clear that Lord Voldemort has taken over, he starts making plans to join the Order of the Phoenix and lend his skills to their cause. The last thing he wants is to be unknowingly sent on a mission to take out Muggleborns or innocent people under the guise that he is actually targeting criminals. The sooner Lord Voldemort is taken down, the better the world will be and Kent is ready to go after any Death Eaters that cross his path.

— He has never had a girlfriend before. Although he received several confessions from classmates in Hogwarts and younger colleagues in the Ministry, nothing ever progressed further than a few dates. They were all very pretty girls he was physically attracted to, but none of them fit him personality-wise.
— He spends most of his free time working out and playing Quidditch with colleagues.
— He is the only one in his family who is still fluent in Swedish, since he has been diligently practicing on his own ever since the Sylvesters moved back to London.
— He loves making and drinking coffee.

FAMILY :

Kent greatly looks up to Winfred and thinks of him as the wisest, most intelligent man that he knows. Although they are in different sections of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Kent usually goes to Winfred for advice before he goes to anyone else. Especially with the Second Wizarding War looming ahead, Kent knows that Winfred has invaluable experience as an Auror who participated in the First Wizarding War and he trusts his father with his life.

— mother: Glinda (née Chambers) Sylvester / 51 / Halfblood / Healer from St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries / Hufflepuff / gentle, caring, serene

Kent spoils Glinda all of the time, especially now that he is an adult and can afford to buy things for her, and treats his mother like a queen. Kent and Glinda owl each other regular updates on Evera and Winfred, respectively. And whenever his father is away on Auror business, Kent comes home to spend time with Glinda so that she doesn't feel lonely.

Kent and Evera are extremely close siblings. Even though he knows she is perfectly capable of looking out for herself, Kent is still very protective of Evera and worries about her all of the time, especially due to the high-risk nature of their job. Even so, Kent and Evera have no qualms about teasing and bickering with each other on a regular basis.

FRIENDS :

Kent usually gets relationship advice from Preston, whether it's for his nonexistent romantic relationships or speculations about Evera's relationships since Kent is an unapologetically nosy older brother. Preston, with his extremely high emotional intelligence, is also a huge source of emotional support for Kent. Even though Preston moved to work in the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary after graduation, they still regularly communicate through letters and the occasional visit from Preston during the holidays.

Xander enjoys randomly visiting Kent's apartment, usually late at night when Kent is about to sleep, to recount his latest duels and to goad Kent into challenging him to a duel. Having suffered from Xander's antics so many times at Hogwarts, Kent has gotten good at distracting Xander with free food and his own stories of being a Hit Wizard. Even so, the living room of Kent's apartment always becomes slightly more beat-up after Xander leaves, due to the mini duels that inevitably occur between them.

Having known Drake for so many years, Kent treats him like the little brother he never had. Kent does give advice to Drake when he feels it's necessary, but most of the time, the two are roasting each other like there's no tomorrow. Even though Kent sometimes wishes he had kicked out Drake when Evera moved out last year, since he misses the absolute freedom of living by himself, he does generally enjoy having someone around to keep him company, especially since Drake understands how stressful their job can be.

IF YOU HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN THE WAR EFFORT, WOULD YOU? WHY OR WHY NOT? :

"Of course! I'll be joining the Order of the Phoenix, since they need every able wizard they can get to help defeat You-Know-Who. I've got the skills and resources to help fight against him, especially since my father participated in the First Wizarding War. None of us are going down without a fight and we aren't going to let the Dark Side win."

Are you worried about possibly being one of the casualties of war? :

"Yes, isn't everyone afraid of dying? I have my family to think about and the rest of my life to live. That being said, if I do end up as a casualty, I only hope I'll be able to take down as many Death Eaters as I can with me."

Do you think you could kill someone for any reason? :

"If I have to in order to save someone I love, like my family members, I'll do it. Would I like to avoid that option? Yes. But I would never let any harm come to my little sister or my parents and if I have to kill someone to save them, I'll do it."

XD I totally trust you on whatever decision you make in portraying him (and my other characters, LOL) and hopefully whatever I've written can help you develop some ideas!
