PERSONALITY :　

As someone who is aspiring to be an actress, she always tries her best in everything she does. She works hard regardless what everyone tells her to and is dilligent even in things that appear to be nonsensical (e.g. she practiced for two hours when she was called to act as a part of a crowd). Because she takes the quote "follow your dreams" a little too seriously, she would appear to be a little ambitious and idealistic. She would even act on an impulse as long as it is for the sake of her dream and she can give away many things. As long as she is passionate about something, she never gives up.

Because of this same passion she has, she makes sure that she stir away from too much trouble and actually try get along with everyone, worrying that making many enemies would affect her career later. It is not that difficult to get along with everybody since she is naturally cheerful and friendly. She loves fun and adventures, hence, she likes hanging around people and getting along with them. Unfortunately, she fails to notice that her friendliness is actually getting overboard and that she is becoming nothing but a nosy person (she loves gossips too!).

As much as her remarks are usually amusing and funny, Jihyun becomes a real headache during serious fights and/or arguments because she is normally tactless and refuses to listen until she thinks she is done explaining her side. She may also say a lot of things that she does not really mean but she will still refuse to apologize for it.

BACKGROUND :　

Jihyun came from an average family in the beautiful island of Jeju, South Korea. Her mom owns a foodstall while her father is a revenue analyst for a hotel in Jeju. She has a younger brother who is five years younger than she is. Being an only child for a while, she is pampered by her parents. When she said that she wanted to be an actress when she was only five, they tried making her join different acting workshops. Yet after a while, she was pulled out as her parents decided that she should aim for something more practical. They made her take different classes for different subjects, saying that acting could only be her hobby. But, she had always had a low IQ and hence, struggled to actually pass her classes with flying colors. Blaming it all on the fact that she insisted on joining auditions and joining workshops, they made her forget about her dream to be an actress. It sounded harsh but they thought that it was for the best.

She is pretty, everyone tells her so and she knows that too. Not to mention, she has an incredibly tall height for a Korean woman. Plus, she has a common name (although no one knows what that has to do with everything). That is why she assumed that she can still manage to be an actress no matter what. Every day, she practiced in front  of her bathroom's mirror, trying to act using her eyes. Even her teacher in her Film subject said that she was doing a great job. The problem was, she believed, her parents were trying to block her opportunity. They encouraged, although more like forced, her to go to a university to take accountancy. However, because she did not like what she was doing, she kept on taking a leave of absence. Finally, she suggested that she should go to Seoul to continue studying. Seeing it as an opportunity to be an actress, Jihyun came up with a complicated plan of going to Seoul.

The female did not apply for any university but her parents did not have to know that, she did not even tell her friends. Her mother actually suggested that Jihyun should either stay in Jeju or the younger should work for her allowance since it would cost a lot of money and it's not that Jihyun is smart. To Jihyun's relief, her father said that he would pay for everything instead. Jihyun used her allowance to pay for a boarding house and to feed herself as she struggled to land herself in a big acting career. Although she knows how to act, she never ends up with big role... or is it because she freezes in fear and becomes stiff whenever she feels people's eyes on her?

Anyway, she had been in Seoul for more than a year already. After the fact that her former apartment got caught in a fire (thank goodness, she was able to rescue most of her important things, or more like, she did not have that much to begin with), she stumbled upon the new boarding house.

TRIVIA :

▸She goes on a diet every time and loses a lot of weight but whenever she is stressed out, she would end up eating a lot of food, particularly sweets, and that causes her to gain so much weight.
▸She likes shopping but she would mostly end up in a cheap boutique or somewhere that sells an imitation of branded clothes, bags, and shoes.
▸She likes dogs and babies. She'd literally squeal whenever she sees one. ("What do you mean I'm embarrassing?! I mean, have you seen them?")
▸She does not like coffee, she claims that it makes her bloated and that it might make her stomach big although no one really knows where she got that from.
▸She likes gossiping and investigating which just means that she is a nosy person.
▸She loves drinking alcohol. She handles her liquor well and do not get drunk easily.
▸She is very good at cleaning even if she does not do it often.
▸She at cooking but she's trying.

She worries a lot about the future of her children so she makes sure that they are being practical with their choices (hence, why she likes helping them decide). From time to time, she would call Jihyun to see how she is doing and she would often ask if the younger is studying well.

▸Father — Seo Kibum (51) / Revenue Analyst / caring, loving / 9/10
He loves his only daughter so much and spoils her with things that he can afford. He is the one who insisted to give Jihyun allowance and let her go to Seoul, hoping for her to have a better opportunity.

▸ Younger brother — Seo Donghyun (17) / student / friendly, lively, nosy, clever / 6/10
His personality is almost the same as Jihyun but that is the thing that caused them to argue a lot. Donghyun is smart and very clever. He has a feeling that his sister is not studying and he actually told her that which she strongly denied, causing for the younger man to laugh.

This professional gossiper helps Jihyun in looking for newly opened auditions. They were classmates in high school but while Hyeri had already began achieving her dreams, Jihyun is still struggling.

question : Why did you choose this boarding house? what makes it special?

▸ "You see, I just saw the promotional poster for this... and several other boarding houses and apartments. Honestly, I thought that this has the most reasonable price so I immediately contacted the owner. Plus, the location of it is quite strategic for a future actress like me. Special? Well, I don't know... but I hope that a fire would not randomly start." She scratches her head, unsure but she is smiling as if she is confident.

question : what house chores are you able and/or prefer to do?

▸ "I can sweep the floor, mop it, vacuum the house, remove cobwebs, and I am trying my best to cook. You know, I actually played a role of a housekeeper before so even if I don't do well in cooking, I can act like I do," she spoke with a sheepish grin on her face. Although she really cannot do so well in terms of cooking, she can actually do household chores so that is a pretty... acceptable answer, don't you think?

question : what time do you have to be at work? will you have enough time to relax inside the house?

▸ "Oh, all the time," she breathed, fanning herself. "But my schedule is quite flexible so yeah, I don't always have to leave and have plenty of time to relax. You know, actresses need their beauty rest. Haha..." Lies. She is unemployed, she is just too embarrassed to say it.

question : how much do you value privacy?

▸"Don't worry, I don't. I have to prepare myself for the paparazzi."

question : If someone were to eat the food you kept in the fridge, what would you do?

▸ "That's actually really nice... to have a food of your own... inside the fridge..." As someone who is broke, she would usually buy meals from the convenience store and/or buy cheap take-outs. It is very rare for her to be able to keep her own food inside the fridge unless her parents delivered something for her (which she finishes in one sitting to be honest).
