Chinese New Year is coming in about a month or so and I'm planning to get a haircut before then. I wanted to shave my hair as short as possible including the sides... and my mom came out of nowhere and said, 'YOU CAN'T DO THAT. YOU ARE A GIRL, NOT A BOY.'

Mom, dear ing God, what era is it now? Can't I be my own person and I'm a human, not a robot. Why am I supposed to follow the norm of having 'girls must have long-ish hair and only guys can have short af hair'????
