DESCRIPTION:

friendly & optimistic: Jasper is team puppy at his best. A total pup. He's a very friendly guy who opens up to others quite quickly, sometimes too quick. He prefers to have a smile on his face and wants to bring smiles to the people around him as well. He tries to look on the bright side of life and believes that hope brings power, so he keeps hope at any time. For Jasper, life is always good, and the glass is always half full.

Humorous & loud: as the mood maker of the group, Jasper is always able to make others laugh. He has a great sense of humor, and his natural dumbness often makes it even funnier. He is great at making funny faces, even when it's not intentional. He might be a dumb who gives headaches, he is also able to cheer anyone up in the group. He's also very loud, and his loudness sometimes brings life back into the tired kids, but it can also just go plain wrong and make everyone angry. It's hit or miss, I bet they never miss huh with his loudness.

energetic & active: this dude never gets tired. The other members know that when they're tired and/or grumpy, they should keep their asses away from Jasper cause he'll only make it worse. He has way too much energy and is always bouncing off the walls, even after a long and tiring day of training or schedules. He uses sports to let out his energy overloads, but when he is unable to do that, he'll become annoyingly hyper and even stressed when he can't practice sports for a long time. He brings energy and good vibes to the squad, but once his energy is kept for too long, it will become a huge pain for everyone. Jasper needs his sports, and he needs it often.

competitive & haughty: If you don't like competition, stay away from this guy. Jasper likes to make a competition out of everything. First one to get to the training room, best one at mobile games, all of that stuff. Well, the one competition he wins at but doesn't like to do is who's the dumbest. When Jasper loses, he'll simply move on and find something else to compete over, but when he wins, he'll become haughty and keep on bragging it for a while. He sometimes acts haughty as a joke, but sometimes he can't stop himself from acting like he's superior. He's just so dumb that he doesn't realise he's being a brat.

Amazingly dumb: Jasper is... really something. He was always at the bottom of the class with his grades, but he always got through because he worked day and night to get his grades up. It is a subject of jokes and teasing a lot of time, and Jasper knows that, but sometimes it wells up, and the tears come. Jasper is dumb, very dumb, and he can't do anything about it. It hurts him. He's such a slow learner in anything that's not language or creative stuff, and it makes his mood drop. He has learned to deal with it and joke about it, but in his heart, there's pain because he can't do things that other people do, and that people get mad at him because he can't do it all. He's incredibly slow at understanding, and the poor guy sometimes tries so hard that his mind gets foggy and he gets a headache.

Over-excitable: people usually think that getting excited easily is all good and fun, but really, it's not. It's not only excitement that Jasper feels quicker than others, but pretty much any emotion. He reacts heavier than the others, and it has its disadvantages. When he's mad, he gets scary, when he's sad, it's full-on depression, when he's stressed, he'll get panic attacks for pretty much nothing, when he's scared, his legs give in because he's that terrified. He experiences all emotions in double the intensity and it makes him hard to deal with. Yes, getting excited over the smallest things is very fun for Jasper, but he has often been mocked for being excited like a little child for a plane or something. His life may seem like all happiness and sunshine, but this all shows that it's actually not that easy for Jasper, and behind his optimistic loud self, there's much more hidden. He also has no way of hiding his emotions, he is just unable to do that despite his efforts.

Childish & unpredictable: being on this emotional rollercoaster all the time, Jasper doesn't know how to react to or deal with things that might make him go into one of those breakdowns. He reacts to conflict with clownery to be able to deal with it, like a child, but it often rubs others the wrong way. He acts like a child when he's in distress and will seek for a sleeve to cling to, preferably of Hua or the group dads. He cries like a child, gets excited like a child, clowns like a child, and is just very unpredictable like a child. His emotion bombs come at unpredictable times and he can get really off at something others would not care about. Yeah, he's a pain to deal with, but you can't blame him.

BACKGROUND:

Jasper Gao was born as Gao Liwei by the coast as the youngest of three. His parents had been moving between Qingdao and San Diego for a while already. They met in Qingdao, married in San Diego, had their kids in Qingdao, and were going to return to San Diego once the kids were old enough. So from the start, Jasper had two names. One for in Qingdao, and one for in San Diego, and so did his sisters. Jasper's first interest as a young child was dancing, and once they moved to San Diego when he was 8 years old, Jasper immediately wanted to join a dance class. Soon enough, his interests switched, as he discovered rock music. Jasper suddenly wanted to learn guitar and vocals the most, but he still kept on dancing, lowkey.

In school in San Diego, Jasper wasn't the only asian, but he was the only one who went up against the smart nerd asian stereotype the kids all had. Jasper was a , and it was a subject of innocent teasing and jokes, but he didn't get bullied because of it, cause he was such a lovable and fun guy. There was another asian kid who did go more with the stereotype. A Korean guy who was very hard-working, smart and an example. He was a year older, and his name was Sam Ilsung, or Ivan Sam. Jasper admired him, and wished he could be like him. Life would be so much easier if he was more intelligent like Ivan. Jasper was jealous. They knew of each other's existence, but were never able to actually befriend each other.

The only fields Jasper was good at were sports, creative things and languages, so people around him knew that he would be best off doing something in music. It would help him as well, cause doing something he loves makes Jasper calm down if he had troubles. He was feeling at his best when listening to rock songs, and performing them. Jasper left his parental home in San Diego in 2014, when he was 16. One of his old friends from China had called him up. They wanted to start a band, and knew that Jasper would be the ideal front man, lead vocal and rythmic guitarist. They all lived in a small apartment in Beijing, and spent their days busking in the streets while also working a part-time job each. It was an amazing time, and after their first few fans asked them to start publishing their amazing song covers online, they started a youtube channel. But the thing is, they didn't even have a band name yet. After a night of thinking, they decided on the name Glander. It was a random name and they didn't know what it meant, but it sounded cool. During the times as busking band, a few of their covers went viral, and they gathered quite a following. Glander was the #1 busking group, and they even got asked to join a company in 2015. It was Mavericks entertainment. They kept releasing covers, but now more professionally, and they got even bigger. Their first original song was greatly anticipated, but something went terribly wrong...

During his time with Glander, Jasper discovered that he wasn't only for girls, but swung to both sides. The band was with two of his childhood friends and a new guy that was very good-looking, he was the bassist. Bassists were hard to find, and Glander was very happy that they actually had one. Jasper fell in love. They started dating somewhere around the time they joined Mavericks. But right before debut, Jasper's best friend caught the bassist cheating, and told Jasper. Things went downhill, Jasper was a wreck. The bassist left, and was never to be seen again. Glander was missing a puzzle piece. They were given 3 months to find a new bassist, or they would have to leave Mavericks, missing out on their debut chances. Sadly, they didn't find a new bassist. The three buddies were devastated, and decided that they had to resume their lifes and go their own way, but still come together occasionally. If they found a new bassist, they would come back, no matter where they were at. That was a promise.

While the other two went working regular jobs, Jasper wanted to keep on trying to stand on stage. His parents immediately came back to Qingdao when they found out that young Jasper was alone, in 2017. After moving back to China, his older sisters included, the family went on a holiday to Korea, in an attempt to cheer Jasper up, but it didn't really help. Jasper wanted to perform. During his time with Glander, Jasper had also learned how to play the piano to be able to perform slower and softer songs with them. Somewhere in a public spot in Seoul, there was a piano (like how you see them in train stations sometimes). When Jasper saw it, his parents couldn't stop him, he had to play. He started to play one of Glander's most famous covers, and attracted a crowd. At this moment, Jasper cheered up, he felt alive again. He was shining. After the song was over, and the crowd had gone their own ways again, Jasper was approached by a man. A scouter of Level1 entertainment. They wanted him. It wouldn't be a band, but Glander was the only band for Jasper. A boy group was fine for him too, so Jasper immediately joined, and the Gao family would return home with 4 people instead of 5.

When Jasper came to the company, the first thing he said to the other trainees was 'NI HAO ', being the dumb crackhead he is. One of the other new trainees gasped. "Oh my god!"

"It's Jasper Gao! He was in my junior high in San Diego!"

The oldest child of the family. Rachel is a queen who has become one of the best female chefs of China, and owns a restaurant named Jasper & Jamie's in Qingdao, she's also planning on making it a big brand. She's currently preparing to open a restaurant of Jasper & Jamie's in Beijing and Shanghai as well. She is known to mix eastern and western style food together.

Middle sister : Jamie Gao (25) / architect / humorous, tough, stubborn / 9/10 (fc: Ni Qiuyun)

The middle sibling of the family and the toughest of them all. Jamie's like a breeze, she's constantly moving around and making others move as well. She's an architect, but in her free time she teaches a dance class, so Jasper is not the only dancer of the family. Jamie didn't always treat her brother as well as Rachel did, but now they've become great friends and they are the moodmakers of the family.

Bestest friend in the world : Xu Haitao (22) / member of NEX7, lead guitarist of Glander, also does the backing vocals / friendly, silly, stubborn / 10/10 (fc: Ding Zeren)

If Jasper had to choose one friend to keep, he wouldn't even doubt about it and go for Haitao immediately. Yeah too bad for his other friends, but Haitao is basically Jasper's life right now. They've been friends since kindergarten, and even when Jasper moved to San Diego, they kept writing letters to each other and later on chat on the pc. Haitao was the one who started Glander and brought Jasper back to China. They weren't best friends before that, but through Glander, they became besties through thick and thin. Haitao was the one who made Jasper discover his desire to stand on stage. Haitao is the one who caught Jasper's first boyfriend cheating on him. Haitao is the one who cared for Jasper when he needed it. Haitao is the best friend. The bestest friend Jasper could ever wish for. And it's the other way round too. Haitao's parents never agreed with his desire to be idol, and Jasper helped convince them. Haitao and Jasper had the same plans when Glander had to separate. Haitao got scouted by Yuehua in China, participated in Idol producer and would later on debut in Yuehua's boygroup NEX7. Haitao also has the Glander tattoo, he has it on his right thigh.

Glander's third wheel : Samuel Tam Chi Kin (20) / college student, drummer of Glander / cool, indifferent, intelligent / 8/10 (fc: Lou Zibo)

Samuel is the youngest and the drummer of Glander. He's originally from Hong Kong (hence the name), but his parents moved to Qingdao when he was only 3. At that time, both Haitao and Jasper were 5. They met on the playground, and Haitao started treating Samuel as a little brother immediately. Samuel was too cute of a kid to let go. Haitao still mothers the out of Samuel, who gets grumpy when Haitao does it now. Samuel is a great guy though, but since Haitao and Jasper are so close, he's the third wheel. he doesn't care though, as long as he can drum. Samuel isn't someone of many words anyway, but deep down he really cares about his big brothers of Glander. Samuel got the Glander tattoo later on as well and has it on his right forearm.

The terrible ex : Chen Aiguo (21) / waiter, former bassist of Glander / sweet, sassy, feisty / 1/10 (fc: Lin Chaoze)

Aiguo... Don't get me wrong, he's not like some evil witch, but this is the dude who broke Glander. The new guy that Haitao brought in to complete the band and Jasper's first boyfriend. They were a cute couple and all. Until Haitao caught him cheating on Jasper. Haitao was fuming, Samuel wanted to punch Aiguo in the face, Jasper was a devastated mess. A puddle of sadness. Aiguo was too embarassed and scared to face the trio ever again, so he left without notice. Well, at least he felt regretful and didn't make it worse by talking to Jasper. But he was the reason Glander couldn't debut. Jasper tries to not think about him anymore, but Haitao and Samuel still despise him for breaking Glander and harming Jasper.

Gabby's kid

Ivan and Jasper attended the same junior high in San Diego, and fate brought them back together. They never knew each other properly, but did know of each other because well, foreigners on a school probably know about each other's existence, and both were famous at the school. Ivan was famous for being a good kid with good grades and one who was very caring towards others. Jasper was famous for being loud, dumb but also a good kid. They somehow still remembered each other and immediately recognised each other after years. Jasper always admired Ivan, but it's a surprise that Ivan recognised Jasper faster. They're good friends now and Jasper still says he wants to be like Ivan. If he says that on broadcast, Ivan will be flattered but deny that Jasper should be like him. Jasper should stay the lovely kid he is. (I swear that Jasper ending up in Ivan's hometown was a total coincidence ;;;;)

Min's kid

Jasper was surprised when he found out that there was yet another californian in the group. But since he liked Ivan so much and didn't know Hyeonju yet, he remembered Hyeonju as the other californian dude. Until they actually discovered that they can be mood makers together. Jasper was happy to find out that he wasn't the only loud funny guy of the group, and they became partners in crime.

the one who gets all the dudes : Yoon Jihan (18) / member of K1NGSMAN / you know him better than I do / 5/10 (fc: wanna one jihoon)

many other trainees seem to like Jihan (yes, I saw how many ppl picked him as love interest lmao), so Jasper often calls him the one who gets all the dudes. Jasper is fine with Jihan, and wants to befriend him. But Jihan is in the way. They have their good moments and all, but Jihan gets annoyed a lot at Jasper's shenanigans, and if you can't put yourself past them, you won't be able to befriend him. Even if Jihan has said some bad stuff to Jasper before with his blunt mouth, Jasper still wants to befriend him. Poor kid. Jasper, I mean.

the cute cousin : Han Youngjae (18) / member of K1NGSMAN / you know him better than i do / 7/10 (fc: nct jaemin)

This boy is the one of the cousins Jasper likes more. Obviously cause Youngjae actually likes Jasper way more. They just get along better than Jasper and Jihan. These two quite enjoy each other's company, and they love practicing sports together, but also to eat desserts and sweets together. The best of two worlds.

scary mom : Hyeong Hanwi (23) / member of K1NGSMAN / caelus you know that I am lazy af / 7/10 (fc: svt s.coups)

K1NGSMAN has quite a few parental figures (how did two dads and two moms end up together in a group??), so there's more people to care for the most annoying baby Jasper. Out of the parent figures, Hanwi is the scariest in Jasper's opinion, and he'd much rather go to Hua or the two dads for advice, but if he needs a strong man to protect him, Jasper will definitely go to Hanwi. It's not that he doesn't like Hanwi, he's just a bit intimidating sometimes.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!

STAGE NAME:  Jasper 재스퍼 (officially it's just Jasper but he tends to introduce himself as Jasper Gao)

PLOTLINE:  K9 (concerto)

POSITION:  main vocalist, lead dancer (co-leader, main vocalist, composer)

PERSONA:  the roaring voice. Simple, cause he is very loud when he both talks and sings. He has lots of decibels.

TALENT TWINS:  Yang Feitong for everything (the center) talking: (normal + when he's sick (idk why I added this in, just thought he sounded cute))

TRAINING PERIOD:  5 years (unofficially 6 years). Busking and covers with Glander for 3 years, including 2 years officially under Mavericks + 3 years under level1

TRAINEE LIFE:

Jasper started out as member of band Glander, and they were an individual band that started with busking in Beijing and then started uploading covers on youtube as well. After a year, they were scouted by Mavericks, and were being trained for their official debut while still working on their covers. They were treated greatly and given a lot of freedom, because that was how Mavericks wanted to keep them under their company. Glander was already ready to debut, but they just needed the recognition and funds to start it all. Some of their covers went viral, some Relient K covers even gathering more views than the original since it isn't a very known band. They had a fandom and were ready to debut when the disaster around Aiguo happened. Mavericks gave them three months to find a new bassist, but they didn't find one and had to leave the company. Haitao joined Yuehua and became cpop idol recently and Samuel is now a college student, but Glander still exists. And the legends says that even up to this day, they're still looking for a bassist.

Jasper got scouted by Level1 when he was performing on a holiday in Korea. It was all very sudden, and Jasper didn't know any Korean, so he had a hard time adjusting at first. At least there was Ivan who he could trail after. Jasper didn't say a single word the first days, until his Korean started to take off. Suddenly he became a talkative goofball, and at first, the others were pleasantly surprised, until Jasper went all the way. At first he was isolated because most of the trainees didn't know what to do with him, but most of them have now opened up towards Jasper.
