Personality:

    Carmen is well known throughout the world of kpop for being cold, even sometimes called an ice queen. Many antis and fans alike speculate that she has some trauma in her past that made her this way, but this isn’t the case: she just thinks that being a woman doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be perky and nice all the time. This isn’t to say she never smiles though, she will always laugh the loudest when something actually funny happens, and will always smile the biggest... when there’s a reason.

    She isn’t quick to anger though either. Instead, it seems as though she doesn’t feel anything. Whether she is complimented or insulted, she often has little to no reaction She doesn’t try to please anyone, and for this, people call her lazy and rude. But the truth is that she works really hard, and it shows on stage, and the people she calls her friends love her. Hated by the press, beloved by fans.

    Her biggest flaw, though, is her need to be ‘edgy’. She occasionally thinks she’s better than other people since she’s more intelligent/doesn’t fit in with others. This has improved over the years, but sometimes she’ll still look down on someone she considers ‘basic.’

Life Background:

Honestly, Carmen always said she couldn’t complain all that much. Her parents were generally nice and her family wasn’t struggling financially. She’s conventionally attractive and always had friends, so she wasn’t bullied, and she was pretty smart too so she never had a hard time with school. Plus, she got to grow up in NYC, and that was pretty cool.

There was only one issue to her life: her damn brother. Whatever she did, he could do better: they were both quite smart but Carl always cared way more for grades than she did, plus he was a sports prodigy. Although her parents never explicitly favored him, she always felt it in the way they spoke about him and his achievements to others, while glossing over hers. He was cheerful, charming, and friendly in ways that she could never be.

She spent most of her elementary school and early middle school years trying to outdo him. But when she realized that would be nearly impossible, she became a rebel: changing her friends, style, and the way she lived to be the exact opposite of him. Dark clothing, darker personality. Her parents didn’t get mad at her too much unless she stayed out too late (she kept her grades up and didn’t get caught drinking/smoking), but they couldn’t quite understand her anymore. Although they don’t hate each other, Carmen wouldn’t say they’re close.

She decided to audition because one of her friends heard her rap for the first time, and Carmen just decided to go for it. And the rest, is history.

How you became a trainee:

Carmen auditioned for both SM and YG entertainment, YG being her company of choice since it fit her vibe a lot better. However, because her ex literally called her right before the it happened she totally flubbed her YG audition. Her SM audition went amazing though, and she got a call back from them right away accepting her. She went to South Korea to train, but was not satisfied with being at SM and wanted to audition for YG again or be on unpretty rapstar. But, when SM pretty much guaranteed her a spot in their latest girl group, she figured she shouldn’t pass up this opportunity and decided to join.

Relationship Status: dating, but in secret

How you met?:

They met after a very long night’s practice. It was about two in the morning when a very sleep deprived Carmen went out onto the balcony at the back of the SM building for a cigarette there. She was quite annoyed when she saw another person was out there; she kinda wanted to be alone, but when he let her bum his lighter she was not so mad anymore. This became kind of a tradition for them after practice or even just on late nights when they couldn’t sleep, until after a month Renjun finally got the courage to talk to her (Carmen is DEFINITELY intimidating and Renjun isn’t that experienced when it comes to girls). But as soon as they started talking, they couldn’t stop and ended up skipping sleeping and practice the next day just to talk. They literally had so much in common and within the next couple weeks they were a couple. But, because Renjun recently debuted and since his fanbase was so young, they knew that if they revealed their relationship the fans would attack them. So they decided to keep it under wraps. They’ve been together for only about six months.

Your lovers personality?:

Renjun is on the quiet side, and can even be a little inconspicuous at times. He can be rough with the other members but is generally very sweet, caring, and loving, especially towards Carmen. He’s very intelligent and a little superstitious. He and Carmen like watching conspiracy theory videos together. They hate coupley stuff and also want their relationship to stay secret so the most they have is each other as their lockscreens.

How did you guys meet?: SinB commented on a predebut video of her dancing. Since Carmen already admired her a lot, she slid into her dms (in a friendship way) and since then they’ve been best friends. They both really love to dance and teach each other new dances, since SinB is stronger at lyrical and Carmen is stronger at hip hop. They help each other grow at their hobbies, even though they don’t see each other often since they’re very busy.

Your best friends personality?: She looks very quiet, but is actually really funny, loud, and cheerful! She cheers Carmen up when she’s in a mood and calls her out on her bs.

Friends: Carmen doesn’t open up easily and doesn’t like casual acquaintances, so she doesn’t have a lot of friends. But all the friends she has are really close:
