The real story of Lessons

A lot of writers have a set idea already when they start posting a story.

They have a definite beginning, middle and end.

It makes life a lot simpler and sometimes the updates come faster.

That was how it always starts with me when I think of writing.

However those of you who have read a lot of my stories, know that, the only thing I have as a definite in my head is a happy ending.

I receive a lot of lovely comments for my writing, but genuinely, my characters write themselves.

They never follow the script and nyongtory always find their way back to each other.

So below is what I intended but Jiyong was not having it and changed the course of my entire story.

Damn you Kwon Jiyong you are too possessive of your panda.

Lessons

I knew that Seungri would move on, but I originally planned to make the popular group suffer and realise what and who they had lost when they did what they did to Seungri.

So basically Seungri story was going to be that he got hurt, went to the states and met some great people who made him mature.

Seungri had such a fantastic life that he forgot all about his teenage years.

However Seunghyun, Jiyong, Sisi and Youngbae would always be slightly haunted by what they did to Seungri.  They would fear that if he came back that Seungri would hate them and exact revenge.

In my original story Daesung was going to end up working with Seunghyun and be a brutally honest employee/frenemy who kicked his whenever he got the chance.

There was no Todae.

Seunghyun would be nicer, but also remain in love with Seungri as the one person he should never have betrayed.

Jiyong would be successful but also regard Seungri as his lost love.

Seunghyun and Jiyong would also be in the same field of work but they would hate each other but also tolerate each other.

Now comes the interesting part.

Youngbae would be the happy one in general and be getting on fine with his life, but whenever he met with Jiyong he would get sad that his best friend lost the love of his life.  The reason being that Youngbae was originally the one that would take Seungri to the airport and part on good terms with him.

Sisi would remain as hard as nails and live in denial and always want to be number one because she still has a bit of a victim complex. Youngbae would eventually help her see the light and they would become a couple.

Now here is the twist.

Remember Michael? He was meant to actually be a really nice character who tried to protect Jiyong because he was a little in love with him, but could not do anything about it.

Michael left for the states and told Jiyong to be careful of Seunghyun. This was before any of this Seungri business began.

Here is the killer part.

Seunghyun and Jiyong were desperate to get Seungri back to Korea.

Seungri became an famous artist.

They begged and pleaded to get Seungri back and because it was for a charitable cause Daesung got his best friend to agree.

Jiyong, Seunghyun and Daesung wait for Seungri at the airport.

Daesung is chill but the others are expecting a cold and cruel Seungri.

Their hearts break when they see Seungri looking too beautiful for his own good and so happy.

Seungri greets them warmly and he is fine because in his head none of the past matters.

Here's the heartbreak for the nyongtory fans.

While speaking to them Seungri turns around.

"Oh there he is finally" he says as a man in a baseball cap and sunglasses approaches him and gives him a kiss.

"Guys this is my husband Michael"

Yep you guessed it the same Michael that Seunghyun and Jiyong knew in the past.

Michael and Seungri came to Korea from their honeymoon.

Daesung only really agreed to bringing Seungri back because he knew Seungri was happy and safe with Michael.

The moral of the story was going to be that no matter how many dark lessons you learn, that good people in your life help you forget the cold past and ensure you build a brighter future.

You do a fabulous job of allowing the characters to "write themselves." I'm not a writer but am an artist and I believe the best creative process is a good mix of careful planning and throwing the plan out the window. It's really interesting to read your process!

Wow....i am glad you changed to story. The original plot of both Seunghyun and Jiyong not getting Seungri are okay with me but not with Michael. I cannot agree that he is a good man after what he did to Jiyong. Urgh....even reading it here disgust me, unless he never did whatever he did in this original plot.

As a Nyongtory shipper, I'm happy with the way you ended 'Lessons.' Of course I can't help that they got away so easily, specifically Seunghyun since he omitted some details of his and Seungri's conversation to Daesung. But I still love that in the end they manage to be civil with everyone. Makes me think that I should matured like them. LOL

I think I said it in one of my comments but will still say it here, 'Lessons' is more twisted than 'Twisted' story. Great story! and will definitely looking forward to your upcoming stories.

OMG!! What an alternative ending this is!! Part of me prefers this plot because Ji suffered so much at that hands of Michael in the published version.

However, I am so so glad that the characters decided the fate of this story. Because honestly... or was brilliant! Ever twist and turn... and the ending was glorious!
