PERSONALITY :
Positive: charming, confident, enthusiastic, honest, open-minded, sociable
Neutral: absent-minded, flirty, mischievous, lax
Negative: dense, (somewhat) lethargic, needy, slightly shallow, 'sleazy', stubborn

In a nutshell, Jiyoon is the type of guy who effortlessly makes friends because of his approchable nature, constantly cracking jokes and inviting others to join in whatever conversation he's in to avoid them from feeling excluded. His enthusiastic and amicable personality makes him a moodmaker of some sorts among his classmates and friends, and it's rather rare to see him down or upset because of his mellow temperament and happy-go-lucky character that usually allows him to get his way anyways. Despite (or maybe because of) his seemingly vast crowd of friends, Jiyoon tends to weave in and out between social circles rather than stay restricted to one, though his closest friends seem to be those from the soccer team, Dance Club, and eventually the Ghost Club.

The underlining feature that either attracts or puts others off is his extremely flirtatious nature, characterized by excessive skinship, cheesy (but somehow effective) pick-up lines, consistent eye contact, and a signature trademark smile that makes him seem like he's always up to no good. While his charisma makes him one of the most well-liked students in the school, it also certainly makes him some enemies and rivals, usually among the more grounded or quiet male students who think he's a player and stealing all the girls. It probably doesn't help that Jiyoon's never accepted anyone to be his girlfriend at the school, which only serves to worsen the perception that he's a player, but perhaps the unexpected answer for that is that Jiyoon isn't as shallow as people think he is.
Does he usually emphasize good looks over intelligence and personality? Maybe a little more than he should. And did he only started dating most of his exes because he thought they were hot? Also perhaps a particularly strong yes. But maybe the reason why is because he's never really met anyone who's genuinely liked him for all of him, denseness and eccentricity and all, because it seems like those who do pine after him do so for his appearance and his popularity, so he just goes with the flow and does the same.

Ideally? He'd like someone who doesn't feel swooned over him on their very first encounter. Overly lovey dovey things like constantly having to hold hands, always needing to text back within seconds, being pressured to go on dates or to buy presents for the sole purpose of posting pictures online - he's so over it. Moon High was supposed to be a new slate, but old habits die hard and he's back at where he was before in Seoul (though, in his defense, he feels better with Jihan keeping him in line through all that tough cousin-y love).

As one can already deduce, Jiyoon's actions do come off as very questionable at times, whether it be because of his tendency to spew nonsense or because of his lack of consideration for consequences following whatever dubious plan he comes up with. Jiyoon also has a tough time remaining still and quiet for prolonged periods of time, possibly attributed to his short attention span and desire for excitement and movement outside a classroom. As a result, he begins complaining (or even flat-out whining when it's to his cousin Jihan) about boredom or dullness, and doesn't stop until he's appeased and allowed to go off and do something other than sitting during a meeting or listening to class lectures.

BACKGROUND :

Originally, Jiyoon lived in the heart of Seoul in an upper-class neighborhood given his family's stable financial status as culinary legends, food industry entrepreneurs who founded and manages many popular restaurants throughout the city. As the only son in the household, it's no wonder why his parents are so affectionate towards him - grand wardrobe, brand-name shoes, expensive watches and more, he owes it all to them. Perhaps it has made him quite spoiled and he's grown to be (as Jihan claims) a giant airhead, but there's no denying that the confidence he's gained throughout his past seventeen years has yielded in someone incredibly good at charisma and persuasion - maybe a bit too much, as everything that comes out of his mouth is almost always borderline flirty, if not then a bit unintelligent, but it works and Jiyoon is constantly surrounded by people who like him both as an individual and as a friend.

Due to his amiable and charismatic nature, Jiyoon had little trouble adjusting after moving from Seoul to Busan after his parents signed a deal to host a series of international food-centered travel documentaries, leaving him under the care of his aunt and his older cousin, Yoon Jihan, in which the latter attends Moon High with him. Although Jiyoon's parents do their best to video-call and message him for updates, Jiyoon can't help but miss them often since their departure during his sophomore year considering their close relationship with one another, but regardless, he's happy that they're enjoying their trips and wishes them the best as long as they come to his graduation.

On a nice sunny day about a year after Jiyoon's been at Moon High, a yellow flyer advertising the school's Ghost Club caught his attention. It was when he asked Jihan about it just to receive an "are you kidding me, this is probably bull" that Jiyoon's interest was piqued, and naturally as someone who tends to do the opposite of what he's told to, it's no wonder why he ends up not only at the meeting but also as a member of the club. In truth? He came for the ghosts and stayed for the cute members - but don't tell anyone he said that.

GENERAL TRIVIA :

— His Harry Potter house would most likely be Gryffindor.
Extracurriculars: Dance, aside from the Ghost Club
— He used to record dance covers and choreography videos when he was still in the dance studio in Seoul, but stopped after moving to Busan.
— Jiyoon's unexpected special talent is dancing to girl group choreography.
— He also learned how to cook from his parents, and though he's nowhere near a culinary genius as they are, he does have a natural sense for cooking.
— He absolutely loves coffee. It's no surprise to find him with outrageous orders too, like a caramel macchiato with six shots of espresso or eight pumps of raspberry.

— Back in Seoul, he was part of his old school's dance team as well as a private dance studio owned by his friend's cousin. He promises to return after finishing high school in Busan.
— Jiyoon's least favorite and worst subject is history because he can't bother to pay attention to the details or read the textbook.
— For classes, he's currently taking Korean Literature, Mathematics (Pre-Calculus), History, Physics, Physical Education (as an elective), and English.

— As lazy as he can be sometimes, Jiyoon loves P.E. and goes all out with whatever activities are required for the day. His favorite sport is soccer, but he didn't join the team or club because he's already in Dance (and later the Ghost Club). Nevertheless, he's very athletic and is among one of the fastest and agile students in the class (albeit his strength training needs more work).

— He doesn't know much about mythology or anything supernatural and has a tendency to blank out whenever another Ghost Club member gives a long and detailed explanation, but he's always happy to dive straight into something - maybe a little too happy, but he does his best.
— His favorite genres are both American and Korean R&B as well as Hip-Hop, and his favorite artists include Khalid, Sam Smith, John Legend, offonoff, and Crush.
— As he claims, his sole un-redeeming quality is that he's lactose intolerant because "what kind of hot guy is allergic to milk?"
— Jiyoon sleeps everywhere - literally, everywhere. Locker room, janitor's closet, nurse's office, under the stairs, you name it. He's pretty shameless about it too to the point that he falls asleep during class lectures, and if it weren't for the fact that he sat in the back row behind this one super tall kid, he'd probably get called out at least every other class.

ROMANCE TRIVIA :

— Normal playlist: WhyBet They Know / Young Dumb & Broke / TRNDSTTR
— Romance Playlist: Written in the Stars / I'll Be There
— Gloomy Nights' Playlist: BathOn the Way to You / Hold Me Tight

— Jiyoon is bi but prefers guys. Only a few (his parents, Jihan, and Hyungseok) know this because he doesn't want to bother telling others, but will not deny it if asked.
— He's had three girlfriends and one boyfriend in the past, but he and his ex-boyfriend were very lowkey, hence why there were no pictures on his social media and why most people don't know he's bi.

— The length of his relationships were 1 month, 2 months, and 3 weeks for his 1st, 2nd, and 3rd girlfriend respectively.
— His longest and most stable relationship was 6 months with his first boyfriend (Yejun) during their freshmen year, but they broke up because Yejun's best friend, who didn't like Jiyoon, found out and made it hard for them to spend time with each other.

— Despite receiving a few confessions and love letters at Moon High, Jiyoon hasn't gotten around to liking anyone yet.
— His ideal type is (tentatively) someone who's older, has a kind soul, can take care of themself,
and likes playful banter without forcing him to do all the lovey dovey couple things.

— It's been a while since he's liked anyone since most of his flirting is unintentional and second-nature, but when he does, he likes to surprise them by suddenly dropping by and/or giving them random gifts.

JIYOON SAYS :

— "Hello, this is JTV and welcome to my crib. Actually, it's Jihan's crib but small details."
— "My memory isn't bad - it's just, like, semi-permeable."
— "I volunteer to be the face of the group."
— "Heads, I win. Tails, you lose."
— "Four scores and seven years ago, you weren't this much of a stick in the mud."

— "Wait so... we weren't supposed to eat the wrapping?"
— "Why have a plan when you can just wing it?"

— "If you're gonna get in trouble for punching somebody, might as well punch them hard."
— "What's with all these love triangles? Maybe the thing haunting this place is evil Cupid."
— "I used to be a good, innocent boy who lived a pious and filial life. Then Jihan taught me how to curse."

The Important People

CONNECTIONS :

YOON JIHAN | COUSIN

"Jiyoon, do me a favor and pretend to not know me at school."

occupation: high school student (senior)
personality traits: blunt, foul-mouthed, responsible, short-tempered
closeness: very close friend and relative (9.5/10)
faceclaim: wanna one's park jihoon

Jihan, in short, is utterly done with Jiyoon's bull, with the most recent shenanigan including him literally getting dragged to a Ghost Club meeting and being bribed to stay for two hamburgers. Did he accept? Yes, but only because Jiyoon wouldn't shut his trap for the love of everything good and pure.

As much to Jihan's distate though, they're both actually really close to each other because Jiyoon isn't always dumb and is a pretty good person, and despite their bickering (mostly because Jiyoon has terrible ideas and Jihan is actually sensible), they have each other's back through thick and thin. Jihan is among one of the only few people who knows that Jiyoon is bi (with the others being Jiyoon's parents and his younger friend Hyungseok), not because the latter hides it but rather because he doesn't bother announcing it to the world. As an older relative, Jihan feels responsible for Jiyoon's well-being, but their relationship resembles much of tough love with Jihan practically never showing affection for the younger. Despite this, Jihan serves as a confidant for Jiyoon and vice versa because they know they can count on each other.  But if there really is a ghost, then Jihan is out.

 PARK SEWOON | BEST FRIEND

"To Sewoon, my dancing king,
My best bro and platonic everything.
You're someone I never manage to annoy,
and you, a great pal, never forget the only milk I drink is soy.

We are inseparable like Romeo and Juliet
Except less romantic and definitely less death.
You've been my best friend since I've come to Busan anew,
Stay by my side and I'll forever make you Kimchi Beef Stew."

- Han Jiyoon, English Poem Assignment (Year 3)

occupation: high school student (junior)
personality traits: creative, energetic, optimistic, outgoing, sociable
closeness: extremely close (10/10)
faceclaim: nct's lee jeno

Officially Jiyoon's first friend at Moon High after moving to Busan, Sewoon and Jiyoon have been almost inseparable since, especially because they share a love for choreography and are members of the school's dance club together along with Hyungseok. Known as the "Dumb" to Jiyoon's "Dumber", they're a troublesome bunch when put beside each other, and it's a good thing that their classes (other than P.E. and English) are different this year or else they'd probably catch the school on fire by now.

Outside of Dance Club, Sewoon is also a part of the school's soccer team and has practice in the afternoons, occasionally during the times when Jiyoon is at the Ghost Club meetings; it's not surprising then that he drops by every now and then to see if anything's new with his platonic soulmate, and despite having a slight interest in the Ghost Club, his responsibilities as both a soccer team member and a Dance Club member prevent him from joining another organization. Nevertheless, Sewoon is always happy to help whether it be providing (terrible) ideas or posting up flyers or talking about any rumors he's heard from the soccer team and his other friends, which is probably a good thing because nobody probably wants a Jiyoon 2.0 in the same room as the first one.

 JUNG HYUNGSEOK | BEST FRIEND

"Nice to meet you, I'm Hyungseok aka the third wheel to Jiyoon and Sewoon."

occupation: high school student (sophomore)
personality traits: attentive, considerate, responsible
closeness: extremely close, though not as much as jiyoon is with sewoon (9.5/10)
faceclaim: nct's park jisung

Although a year younger than most of his friend group, Hyungseok is extremely close to Jiyoon and Sewoon despite being much more sensible and less impulsive than they are, and as a result is known as the brains in their dance group. Regardless of how baffled he is at Jiyoon's overconfident and flirtatious nature, he still respects the older as someone he can count on and go to for advice (usually bad advice, but it's the thought that counts).

Upon hearing that Jiyoon is joining the Ghost Club, Hyungseok's first reaction is a mixture of surprise and skepticism, mostly because he didn't expect Jiyoon out of all people to join such a dubious organization. He makes his concern clear whenever Jiyoon mentions the Ghost Club, but if there's anyhing he's realized after knowing the older for the past year, it's that Jiyoon is an unstoppable force once he's put his mind to something. Eventually, Hyungseok comes to accept Jiyoon's questionable decisions and even helps by acting as a source for Jiyoon about rumors or stories he's heard from the underclassmen.

HAN HOSUNG AND YOON IN-AH | FATHER AND MOTHER

"Son, we sent you a postcard! I don't think anyone does that anymore,
but there's a picture of panna cotta and it looks delicious!"

occupation: chefs, restaurant owners, travel documentarists (food travel)
personality traits: adventurous, caring, perfectionists
closeness: very close, but have grown slightly distant (8/10)

Although Jiyoon used to be incredibly close with his parents, incompatible schedules have made it difficult for them to remain in consistent contact, creating a slight divide in their once tight-knit family. Nevertheless, he still respects and loves them for all they've done for him, and there's no way to hate them with all the surprise presents and gifts they send him from overseas.

LEE SANGHYUK | FELLOW CLUB MEMBER + POSSIBLE LOVE INTEREST (?)

"Okay Sanghyuk, honest question:
do you think ghosts can find humans hot?"

occupation: high school student (senior)
personality traits: curious, ecentric, sensitive
closeness: originally acquaintances, later good friends (3/10 ---> 8/10)

The first impression Jiyoon had of Sanghyuk was that the latter definitely needed more confidence, and Jiyoon definitely makes it known to him. It's no surprise if the remark ends up annoying or bothering Sanghyuk, and perhaps the older even dreads the presence of Jiyoon every time they bump into each other in the hallways or at the club meetings, but Jiyoon is visibly very eager to partake in all the supernatural and ghosts ordeal which means they're eventually bound to see each other often.

Through all of Jiyoon's terrible ideas and even worse plans (ie. "we can offer a sacrifice using the souls of our mortal enemies"), Jiyoon really does appreciate Sanghyuk and all the effort he's put into helping manage the club. It's because of this why every now and then, Jiyoon slightly goes out of his way to gift something nice for the officers, like coffee or boba or donuts and lunch. Does he expect something back? Not really, because Sanghyuk's cute when he's surprised and confused - but those are small details.

Application Questionnaire

So, what brings you to Moon High's Club for the Investigation of the Supernatural? How'd you hear about us? :

— "Okay, not gonna lie, I only started noticing you guys because the members were kinda cute. I mean, I heard about you guys before though - the whole spooky ghost ordeal sounds pretty fun and I'm always game for some action. I also brought my cousin 'cause he's scared to  about horror movies and ghosts and whatnot, and messing with him for a whole year sounds fun. What do you say? Am I in? I get brownie points for referral right?"

Do you believe in Ghosts? Goblins? The bogeyman? Do you believe in anything supernatural and not of this world? :

— "Of course I do - my looks are outta this world. Okay, kidding, 'yes' is the answer you're looking for, right?"

What do you hope to get out of this club? :

— "Definitely some fun and action, and throw in the bit about new friends too. It's my junior year, and eventually we're all going to graduate - gotta make the most of it before it's over right? And what screams 'fun' more than ghost adventures?"

What should we do for our end of year event? :

— "How about having a campfire at the beach? We can bring a portable projector and large screen for movies and just eat and talk and roast marshmallows. Oh, yeah, and if we make a mini documentary by compiling all the videos we've recorded over the year, maybe we can play that too?"

COMMENTS : Hey there and thanks for taking the time to look through my app! I hope I didn't miss anything, but if I did, feel free to point it out and I'll fix it soon! Also, I didn't realize so many people wanted Sanghyuk as a love interest until I reached the near end of my application LOL. If you happen to not be interested in having him as Sanghyuk's LI, then that's totally understandable and feel free to pair him up with another male applicant - or, as a third back-up, with Sewoon! Other than that, thanks again and hope to hear from you soon!

SCENES REQUESTS :

— One day during class, Jiyoon receives a call from his parents who are overseas but gets caught on his phone. He ends up missing the call even after leaving the room against the teacher's words (with them not picking up when he calls again), gets stuck with a punishment, and ends up uncharacteristically down and unresponsive for the next two days
— For light-hearted scenes, a Secret Santa event among the club members around Christmas time!
— Maybe Jiyoon's LI is skeptical of Jiyoon and Sewoon's "platonic friendship"?
— A fellow Ghost Club member asking Jiyoon about his orientation in which he answers honestly (can be either for platonic or romantic development!)
— The Ghost Club pulling an all-nighter to sneak into a supposedly haunted place but half the group is non-functioning without sleep
— Jiyoon suggesting that the club starts recording all of their 'investigations' to make a documentary-like film at the end of the year!
