Warning: long rant, pretty much uncensored because I've exhausted my political-correctness for the day.

Soooo haven't came to this site in a long while because of RL stuff (internship, school, applying for exchange to Inha and all) (which excuse me for 3 seconds but I may be going to Inha Uni for exchange next semester omg the Inha where Siwon Ryeowook and Changmin got their degrees from!!!) I'm dropping this here today because recently stuff has been happening in my fandom and it's been concerning me and idk I just want to write to clear up my thoughts.

For the past month I've been quite happy and in bliss because Kangin has started posting on Instagram again, Sungmin seems like he's happy doing what he's doing, D&E is just in-my-face with PDA, SJ won like 5 awards in a row including the billboard one. Then SJ has announced a comeback with mini album 'One More Time' to be released on Oct 8 (best birthday present thanks although idk if I can climb firewalls from Shanghai) and the MV for 'Animal' will be released next Thu, I was so excited after hearing the news but so upset to see the ugly mess that starts in the fandom...

The OUT people, the IN people, the anti-this, the OT-what...

Like guys, sit down. How is all this being supportive?

To the OUT people, I understand that you have reasonable concern against having members who had "problems". Like I get it, I can't excuse DUI, and I can't excuse how Sungmin didn't handle the marriage (and honestly I can't say that I'm very happy with how his wife was acting then, like I'm glad that Ming found someone that he's ready to dedicate to with the promise of marriage, I admire how he did such a brave action, but his wife was just... not helping in making it more acceptable and just provoking more ish in 2016). But why are you guys making such a ing fuss at this time? Why are you guys trying to bring down Sungmin's activities on Youtube and in musicals? Those aren't even SJ activities, can't he have his own work if you don't want him to promote with SJ? Why are you guys leaving horrid remarks under Kangin's instagram posts? Why are you guys dragging people who had trained and promoted with SJ since their youth? Why are you disregarding all their contributions, all their participation in SJ's achievements and history? And how is bringing all this up again helping SJ's comeback? What kind of image are you sending to strangers about SJ, about us? Stop cyberbullying and attacking, it's ugly and speaks volume about your character and your lack of care towards the team and fandom's collective reputation.

To the IN people, I respect that you want the members back in the comeback, and future comebacks. But this is not how it works. The comeback is SET, it's coming in 2 weeks. The album, the MV, the line distributions, the choreography, the PR, the schedules, the music show liaising, it's all done, or already in progress at least. Screaming "I want _____ in this comeback" all over twitter and under the member's Instagram posts will not put them in this comeback. In fact, if they were to be added to this comeback, it will mess things up, and no rational company (which SM certainly is, a fact that I hope you already know, this is a very capitalistic, profit-driven industry, market and economy in general) would allow for such last-minute major adjustments (imagine the mess EXO had to go through for their first concert in 2014, except that they're re-recording and re-planning everything because they've added someone in). Sure, do your thing on twitter, create petitions, get it signed, and mail it to the relevant departments of SM and SJ label. Not the SJ members. And don't do those now. Do those after you've helped contribute to a successful comeback this October. After proving to SM once again (because SM and Korea in general seem to easily forget how huge SJ is internationally) that SJ is going strong despite being such a senior group, after proving that ELFs are still here and with strong purchasing power. Then you gain more bargaining power to prove your point of #IN. If not, why should SM entertain your demands? By creating a mess at this point is just going to affect the comeback. Get your priorities straight. And if you are not gonna support SJ's comeback just because someone isn't in it, kindly take out ELF from your labels because you're just a _____-stan and not the fan of the group.

Can't we just ing come together and support this comeback like how a fandom should instead of fighting each other? And calling out all the "big accounts" like ing stop. They are not obliged to entertain your demands, they've contributed tons of content to the fandom (translations of posts/letters, subbing clips and full-length episodes, organising mass album pre-albums and support events etc), before you go pointing fingers and barking at whoever that don't agree with your stand, look back at yourself and understand that you are in no place to demand for others to listen to you.

As the fandom of a group that debuted over a decade ago, our behaviour have reflected none of that and frankly speaking, it's disappointing to see. I stuck through with SJ for the past 8 years because the boys never fail to make me feel happy, but I can't say the same about the fandom and I hate that. I love our fandom, we've been great support to SJ, but some of us are really forgetting our place as fans and trying to micro-manage everything. I trust that SJ knows what they want and knows how to get it, I trust their decision as a team and will support them in whatever form they continue as. I miss OT13 too, I miss Henry and Zhoumi and SJM with their funny Chinese accents, I miss Hangeng and Kibum and I'm always crying happy tears when SJ drops reminders that they've never forgotten how they started, but this is a realistic world and I wish we could just be more reasonable with this whole ordeal.
