i've nyctophobia and it's getting real bad

okay, so sharing this of a thing never really came to my mind. but honestly, this is getting worse day by day. this is taking a toll on my daily life, my health especially my mental health. i feel on edge every single moment, i feel exhausted to my bones. 

it's scary how i am not able to sleep until the lights of my room are switched on. believe me, i am not able to sleep until two-three in morning, no matter how many hours i am laying on my bed or how exhausted i feel. in usual cases, whenever you're exhausted, you sleep as soon as you come in contact with your bed but it works totally different on me. opposite. 

i've noticed this thing, as soon as the lights of the house are switched off at night, i start feeling panicked, i shiver for no reason at all. and basically nothing helps. i switch on the lights, feel a little better and then i don't realize how or when i fell asleep. usually that happens only after two in the morning. 

but that's not all. i wake up at ungodly hours between those few hours between two-three in the morning to six-seven. and then after that i have trouble falling into a slumber again. 

so basically for every night since the past few weeks, i'am only sleeping two or three hours during the whole day. and by time, it's only getting worse.

what should i do? should i see someone? a doctor perhaps? or someone else?

Do you think a night light may help?

If you can, then try to take short naps during the day, so that even if you sleep only for a few hours at night, you'd be rested enough.
I suggest reading something before you sleep, I usually read articles or watch videos on fb till I start yawning

I have this too, but it’s not as severe as this. Hope it gets better. <3 (I should probably blame myself for being such an avid horror movie fan, though, lol.)

You need to talk to anyone who will listen to you and you should do that quickly .
You can also take gods name continuously and it will help you with positivity. It will give you peace , you will be able to sleep .
I take gods name continuously when I get scared or restless or any kind of weird feeling it helps a lot .

You should most definitely seek a doctor's help. The longer you wait, the worse it will get and will longer time to heal. So go to the doctor's asap.

Maybe the best idea would be to see a doctor or someone you trust. Maybe also research ways to help you to sleep. But I wish I could be a better help and I hope that things work out. You can pm me to let me know how things are going <3
