My PD48 and IZONE Rant: A Blog
Hi, everyone. It's asahdako. So I'm in a large peripheral of my thinking with regards to IZONE, of the fact that the remaining eight members (especially Kaeun) didn't make it, and of my decision with regards to my PD48 fic, "How Will I Survive?" so I express myself through this blog.
First and foremost, the lineup for IZONE was albeit expected yet very disappointing. There are only countable picks who are actually talented and most of the composition is tipped towards popularity and visuals rather than talent. I even saw their positions and they were just dreadful (they got sub rappers and no main rappers), most of the members are "babies" (like the center is 14 years old), and the appeal isn't all-rounded as it's mostly cutesy and what-not. Now I'm not saying this because I hate them nor I have particular biases. I'm saying this because we're talking about a global group here. They're not just a main focus for Korean and Japanese trainees. In reality, international fans are also watching, loving such hardworking girls, and expected a lot so the group should be all-rounded and balanced. But what the , Mnet, you dropped our hopes. And for National Producers who had the chance to vote, you wasted your senses. There are other trainees who deserved more yet you treated them unfairly and voted for trainees who aren't visually talented. But to be rational, it might take time for some spectators of Produce 48 to actually like the group. I'm one of those people so it might take time to accept. Some of my bets were in anyways plus I could stan them because I sacrificed my hours of sleep every Friday to watch the mothering show. It's still the beginning so let's see how it goes.
Second, I felt sorry for the remaining eight who didn't make it. Chowon was the dark horse for this show and showcased a lot of talent. Miyu was also very talented and deserved better. Haeyoon had a godly main vocalist voice that could've been really good with the lineup. Miu had showcased good dancing skills and charisma. Miho has done great for a woman her age and as a good vocalist. Miru was ing first in the evaluations, is a good center, and showcased a lot of charms. Juri showcased good rapping skills. But what made me really sad was of Kaeun. She's a professional, a good leader, a humble performer, a maternal figure to the trainees, and had fought the war on the forsaken show with all her hard work and dedication. I was very upset. She always maintained in the Top 12 but got rigged in the finale. She always did her best but the show rigged her of her rightful spot. Without her in the final lineup, I'm having second thoughts to stan the group or not because seriously, I don't find the final lineup appealing.
Third would be the fanfic. The results, especially with Kaeun's case, have triggered me and I had the first thought not to write the story anymore. The reason is a little insignificant but with your inspiration not part of the final lineup, how can I even write a proper prompt? In that part of the thought, writing the story would be useless. However...I saw a little hope thanks to my readers. I arranged the stories by votes and my story is the most voted within the PD48 tag of fics. Not only that, I had a decent number of subs, views, and comments, a record was broken after writing almost 27 fics. But what really came into my mind was the readers who commented and went along my little journey towards this story.
With that, I made a decision.
I'll continue the story for my readers but a word to them: don't put your hopes too high. There will be unexpected changes in the fic. You will feel a lot of emotion so prepare the tissues and the stress relievers because trust me, starting from this day, things will be very different. And as promised earlier, despite being salty, I will post Ch 9 today.
That would be all. To my readers, thank you for enlightening me. I'll do what I can for the story. Maraming Salamat ^^
