For Long

For long I stare,

Into the depth of your eyes—

Only to dive into it deeper,

In search for a lost love.

For long I behold,

The quavering lips that move—

To read every word that's slipping,

Only to find you mastering another lies.

For long I stay,

For you to admit, for you to tell me—

That it was all your mistake,

Only to find you leaving without regrets.

For long I wait and wait,

For you to come back;

To return home, to bring back the love I've missed—

Only to find myself drawing one last breath.
