PERSONAL - 25 (Aff related)

1. How did you come up with your user name and what does it mean? How old are you?

I like the color of the sea and oceans so my username is Aquamarine. I added the word Love in the end because, as the saying goes, “make love not war.” I’m in my late twenties.

2. Why did you pick your user photo/thumbnail?

I’m an OT7 stan and I love BTS. Simple.

3. Who is your favourite Author on aff? (Write as many you want)

On AFF, currently, I really love the writing style of Kajikaloisa (I highly recommend Moonlight). It’s so unique.

I read stories by @realest_jihope/jihopephile but sadly this person deactivated. It was such a shame since this person is a great writer.

I have an unhealthy of obsession with trivia. So I like to watch a lot of things related to science and general knowledge on youtube like Mental Floss, Vsauce, Vlogbrothers, Crash course, Veritaseum, Shots of Awe, Wisecrack, Nerdwriter1… just to name a few. “The more you know”, you know…

And BTS, of course.

5. Do you eat while writing or reading? / Which position do you find comfortable for reading? / What do you do the most?

I don’t eat while writing actually. Sometimes I forget to eat unintentionally because once I focus on one thing I just have to finish it. I like to sit on my bed with comfy pillows on my back for support while I read or use my BF’s tummy as a pillow while I read.

I read a lot (like a lot). As the saying goes: “Knowledge is power.”

6. Your first ever story you read on here. And Why? How was it like? Share the link below, we wanna judge you~ jk jk.

It was a Kyumin fic way back in 2011, I think. I’m not sure. I wrote a two part series when I was in my late teen and early twenties (it was cringey when I read it again, yikes) but I can’t find inspirations to write them anymore because life goes on (I still listen to SuJu’s music since their voices are amazing omg, but I’m not following them too much nowadays on their other stuff).

7. Which ship is your guilty pleasure?

JinMin and TaeJin.

8.What genre attracts you more? Happy endings or Dark Angst.

I read anything as long as it’s good. The genre doesn’t really matter.

9. How did you discover AFF?

I was looking for a site to pour my sudden burst of inspiration to write fanfiction and I searched google and AFF was the most accessible.

10. Most difficult question ever. Who is your bias (name only one keke) do you like writing about him and with whom do you ship him/her the most ... don't include yourself lmao.

I like all seven but I look up to Namjoon the most. I ship him with Seokjin the most.

11. Are you a musician? Sportsperson? What are you good at? Did anyone inspired you?

I’m a music listener and a reader. I don’t know what I’m good at. Cooking, I guess?

I like to watch Hell’s Kitchen and I think Gordon Ramsay is an inspiration lmao.

12. Do you enjoy graphics/reviewing/beta-ing/ trailers/ Layouts? Or are you a critique who loves to check plot holes in story…. What inspired you for that? Do you think you are improving in any field?

I can only focus on one thing at a time so I can’t beta or review or do other stuff so I just focus on my own stuff. It’s easier for my brain. I am highly critical about my own stories that I write.

13.Which platform do you think is best for reading - writing (vice versa)

I like the accessibility of AFF and the readability of AO3. I like to keep my platforms simple.

14. Which ualities do you prefer reading? MxF, FxF, MxM

MxM and FxF since I can’t find too many on actual literary works so it’s nice to find fanfictions that celebrates that.

15. What's your role in your house?

I am a cook and I am good at massaging lol.

16. Were you homophobic at some point in your life? Yes? why?

I’m a member of the LGBTQ+ community so… No.

17. What do you think about your handwriting?

Terrible.

18. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

Recently it is Smooth Strip on AO3. It’s hilarious.

19. Do you own pets? love animals, nature? Insects? Are you scared of them? Squashed any? If yes why :( they have feelings too!

I love animals but I can’t have them at my place.

20. What AU do you find yourself writing about most?

Non-Idol AU with slice of life genre. (I’m branching out to other things, though.)

21. How many friends do you have?

On AFF? Less than 90. I can’t keep up with too many. Mianhe… But I do like to interact with readers via comments and feeds since I only focus on stories here.

22. Is there something you'd like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)

Fantasy genre is difficult since I’m detailed oriented and have to do a lot of research before I write. I’m planning one currently, actually. I have one short fantasy genre coming up for the winter.

23. Is there anything you would like to be better at on AFF? Writing, graphic design (posters), replying to comments, updating regularly, etc..?

I need to organize my thoughts better and I need to beta my own stories but I’m too lazy to do it so I missed a lot of stuff and when I read it again I always find mistakes. I actually want to learn not to force myself to update when I am too busy for my own well-being since self-care is important.

25. Most fav food? Fave Animated Movie/Series? Anime? Manga Series?

Food: Nasi goreng

Animated movies: Princess Mononoke (any Ghibli movies directed by Hayao Miyazaki are always good actually)

Anime: Mushishi

14 (with a few more in my to-write-list in my blog)

6. Do you write down story ideas, or let it rest in your brain?

I need to write it down so I can commit.

7. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author on AFF?

No and I don’t plan to seek fame either. I just write for fun.

8. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

I call them Lovely Readers. I’m not good with names.

9. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

Just enjoy what you are doing. Have fun.

10. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

Yes. I map them out mainly for the beginning and the ending part but for the flow of the story, I mostly just wing it with the character’s traits in mind.

11. Have you ever gotten a bad review or comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

I haven’t had any bad comment per se but I do have some criticisms. But I actually want feedback and constructive criticism so I can improve. If I see hate comments, I just delete them but thank goodness I haven’t found any so far.

12. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, , etc..)

is always hard to write especially when it comes down to the technical stuff but still manage to make it as tasteful as possible.

13. What story(s) are you working on now?

Who’s the Baby Daddy? (it’s family friendly)

14. Do you think you've improved as a writer since you first started?

Yes, but I am still learning and will keep on learning since life is always going to be a life-long learning process.

Best: Law of Forbidden Attraction (I need to edit it, though)

Worst: Try Me, Kim Taehyung (I know it’s my most subbed but I need to revamp and modulate it. The plot is too hurried since I wrote it on impulse without much thought)

16. What is the easiest thing about writing? And what's the hardest? And why do you write?

Writing is never easy for me.
I write for my peace of mind to escape the stress of reality.
