All the new additions to AFF's blog section?

EDIT: whoops I just realized that for the title, I wrote 'all the new editions' instead of additions rip

I feel so terrible for saying this, but I don't really like how you can subscribe and upvote to blogs/plus all the new editions?

tbh I can see why it was added, except to me, it feels sort of pointless, since it's practically the same as a story now. I kinda miss the old version of blogs where is was just simple write a blog, post it, and that's it. Upvoting seems useful to me (except for the fact of what is the purpose? the blogs don't get featured, right?), but now that when you're scrolling through the blogs section and are able to see the stats of each blog (involving # of views, upvotes, and subscriptions), I don't really like it? It kinda subconciously makes me want to click on the blogs with more views/upvotes/subscribers and skipping over some blogs with barely any views but can potentially have good content-- sort of like the story section of this site.

the one thing I sort of appreciate is the 'follow author/blogger' at the top of every username' since that's pretty helpful imo ;u;

overall, I kinda just want it to revert the entire blog section back to how it used to be before the pages option was even added. I appreciate the fact that the creator is just trying to get the site to be more interactive, but... I guess it just doesn't work for me? maybe I just hate change lol

oh well. I probably don't make much sense. :'(

Aside from the ‘follow blogger’ button, I don’t see any use to the upvote and subscribe button, honestly.
You subscribed to a blog. Great! What next? Just, get notified if there’re changes to the blog?
I think I can understand upvotes though, but not the subscribing part, really. ;; Someone, help?

I agree, it’s a way to make the blog section “competitive” but then again, I believe most newer changes to this site has just been adding more stats to subconsciously make authors feel either good or bad about themselves and definitely feel like a certain standard is needed to be “good enough”. it’s sad that we can’t have a place where we can just ... talk without having the looming “upvotes and subs” having over us ;;

agree.
honestly, all those additional features except the follow the author make me uncomfortable bcs now i can't even feel comfortable to update random stuffs without having to worrying about those upvotes and subscribes. Blogs contents are just something for me to write out of fun so why bother with all those uptoving and subscribing? ._.

The thing that annoys me is that we don't automatically seem to get updates anymore when our friends release a blog uwu I know we can follow them as bloggers etc but it's just a little annoying ;-;
