Poem (again)

An investment, a commitment,
the lines get blurry with all these feelings
you saved me,
over and over.
I hate to be this far away
knowing you’re not all right.
I hope you’re held close
comforted and cherished,
where you are, wherever you are.
Spent all these years in each other’s hearts,
I knew it would end,
wished for all the pain to stop -
not to hold on when it hurts.
They cut you up but
please don’t bleed over
these years. They weren’t wasted,
you saved me,
with your words, in your voice -
you’re the only home I’ve ever had.
I know things aren’t right,
we painted the day in black
accused the man, we did right
we tried. You’re all right,
it’s okay to not be okay -
never lose the light in your eyes
fight in your spirit
and the soul in your voice.
If you ever feel empty
Fill your heart with my love.
