history
1999; On a windy autumn night on the early October in Jilin, China, a baby girl was born. It was a happy night for her father, then a 25 years old finance officer at a multinational company; her mother, then a 23 years old stay at home wife; and her brother, then a 4 years old spelling bee champion at his kindergarten. They lived surrounded with love and warmth with little to nonexistent family drama on the northern part of the province where the land borders with another country - Korea. Almost 50% of the population there speaks Korean, and so did the Zhaos.
2008; Time passed quickly and the baby grew up to be a sweet, pretty girl. Her father had been working hard the past decade and was finally offered a higher position at the newly opened company branch in South Korea. No stones were left unturned, and soon enough The Zhaos turned into The Jos. The family adapted quickly, and somewhere along the way, the girl started referring Seoul as her home rather than Jilin.

- Eventhough Jinhua is 100% Chinese, she's more fluent in Korean than Mandarin.
- It says Jo Jinhwa (조진화) on her nametag and trainers/trainees were surprised to learn that she isn't Korean.

Jung Hayeon is one of the Fantagio's future girl group's maknae. Sharp and clean dance moves with fresh and sweet vocal in such a young age, she's one of the trainees that gets recognition at the start of Produce. She has a beagley personality, she's really sociable, and she gets along quite fast with new people. She's really close with Jinhua and Jinhua thinks of her as an adorable younger sister.

Jinhua was 13 when she got scouted at Gangnam. The agent offered her to be a model, which Jinhua ignored at first because she thought it was some sort of a scam. But the agent gave her a business card and upon seeing it was Fantagio, she reconsidered it and eventually joined the agency when she was 14. Despite being trained for 4 years and 3 months, the first 3 and a half year contract was for modelling and acting. When the contract got expired, her agency suggested she continue by shifting to idol-training since 'she has so much raw potentials'. She agreed, and so was it.
At first she was worried about getting idol-training, since she was aware of the harsh competition among trainees. But surprisingly she gets along well with other idol trainees, which she didn't expect at all since her previous fellow trainees were a bit cynical and individualist. The idol trainees, at first, were a little mean to Jinhua since they thought she was only pretty with no actual talent. More so, they had originally been assigned to a fixed group (the one with Yubi and Hayeon). However, it only took a few weeks until they were moved to see Jinhua's determination, and they revert back to their kind and helpful selves. Jinhua then realized that while model/actress tainees are full of themselves and think that they need to shine alone, idol trainees work together as a team so they can shine together.
Since the contract renewal, Jinhua has only been trained for singing and dancing for about 9 months, thus explain the lack of skills compared to other trainees from her agency.

Though Jinhua hasn't been in the idol industry for long, she has had many gigs as a model. She is well known of it, even. She starred on several music videos, such as labelmate 5urprise's From My Heart (2014), another labelmate Astro's Confession (2016), and BtoB's I'll Be Your Man (2016). She modeled for cosmetic brands Peripera (2015) and Banila co (2017). She also modeled with Astro's Cha Eunwoo for Tommy Hilfiger 2017 S/S Denim Collection (2017).
