I heard a love story today
But not the happy kind
He told me that she loved him
But she had to say goodbye
She was older by years four
So her parents couldn't comply
When I asked if that was all it took
He told me No, that's not all.
She had something he didn't
And I thought of two big s.
But then he said it was her everything
And I thought maybe a cute dog.
But she had parents, and he was orphaned
So that was a big problem too.
Nevertheless I told him be happy
Like that would ever help a soul -
But he told me thanks anyway
Because it was a story that was never told.
