Studying Abroad at Ewha Womans University

Hey everyone!! So I have been really busy juggling things back and forth this summer, from my internship in New York to my preparations....for the stuDY ABROAD PROGRAM AT EWHA!!! I'm super excited, and I will be flying in exactly four days (which is crazy and ridiculous and has not processed yet). This is my second to last day at work before I take a month vacation from my internship (I've been at this internship for 2 years already and this is my third year, so there's no way they would deny me this wonderful opportunity lmao) and I'm pretty pumped. But then, I'm also going to the Chase Summer Soundtrack Liam Payne Concert tonight which has me a little pumped too. But in no way am I that avid of a 1D fan so I'm just there to learn more about him and listen to "Strip That Down" hahahaha. I'm relieved that they're sitting seats -- btw, is anyone going to the BTS concert this upcoming September in Newark?? Because I am scared for my life down in GA...I was GA5 for the EXO concert 2 years ago and that was a rough rough experience, surviving amongst the scary fans. Okay, sorry, I'm off-topic.

Anyway, I promised myself that despite all the stuff going through my life, being a fanfiction writer would be something I wouldn't give up on (even though honestly, throughout my life, I have given up on swimming, taekwondo, piano, ....ahem) -- so I've been working on the latest chapter of my active fanfiction "Playful Kiss: The EXO Version" for about six months now, LOL. Sorry. This isn't a laughing matter. But literally, it's been almost six months and I'm still adding a few words, sentences, or paragraphs to it every few weeks. I won't say that I promise, but I will definitely get this chapter out to you guys within the summer, and it will be a looooooong chapter. As in a long and good and exciting chapter.

Okay, the main point of this blog post is that I will in fact be writing a blog (hopefully, regularly updated every few days) as I spend my time in Korea studying abroad. I will be studying for 4 weeks and staying an extra week with friends for fun and travels. For those four weeks, I will be taking 2 courses: an intensive Korean language course and a Korean History and Folklore Culture course, both courses that can translate into credits for my home university and credit toward my Korean minor. If you guys are any bit interested in my personal life, or what it's like to study abroad in Korea, OR you just love food and travel and want to find recommendations and extended details on different places, please do check out my blog! It's therejamiegoes.blogspot.com. (And there you have it, my name is actually Jamie, not kpopchicken). There you go, that was the main point of this blog LOL.

Conclusion: I will be living in Seoul for 4 weeks to study, and then I will be in Busan for 4 days, and Seoul for the remaining 4 days to have fun. I will be posting about local destinations, hot places, different food places, and more, so if you guys are interested in the life of Kpopchicken (whose life is really boring unless she goes on vacation), check my blog out at: www.therejamiegoes.blogspot.com . Thanks!! Love you all :)

P.S. If you guys have any suggestions on where you want me to go, or you have heard of places that you want to actually see me go to irl, let me know in the comments! Or if you have any questions about the whole study abroad process, or about Ewha University, dorming, Korean placement tests, anything, don't be scared. I may be somewhat inactive in updating (I promise I'm continually writing), but I do reply to comments and chats fast LOL.

Good luck and have fun! I did a collaborative research project with Ewha and my university, it's a really beautiful school and all the faculty (at least the ones I've interacted with) are super friendly!
