annoying advertisers who never learn and apparentaly can't read

Ugh, I know I wasn't as active as I'd like to be, but when I get on the site and I see a notification that somebody PM me, or wrote something down on my wall, only to see they advertise what pisses me off. I mean...I am all hyped up because maybe someone commented on my story or just wanted to be friends with me, but no, it's a ing ad. Every ing time! And if you think it's courtesy to add me as a friend (because I don't discriminate and add everybody) only to send me an ad, you're wrong. It says on my profile that I do not wish any ads to be sent to me, yet you don't even care to scroll a lil bit. It's ing annoying and I take so much pleasure blocking you. How many people do I have to block for it to stop? No respect for people like this. Absolutely none. I hope you have a bad day, just like me right now.

I mean...seriously, it's so hard to get?

as someone who used to advertise, I definitely think that putting it into your status is really the best way to say "don't advertise". Or make a wall post on your wall asking for no ads and constantly update it so that when advertisers are ready to post, it's the first thing they see, would be a good option too (just a little tiring if people post on your wall a lot bc then you have to keep deleting and reposting the message).

tbh I can see your frustration (especially PM advertising?? I have never seen that before and that's honestly really stupid for people to do), and my best explanation is that when people are clicking through profiles and posting (especially if you have to make 300+ wall posts and you just want to get it done), they usually don't bother to scroll and read the profile or press CTRL+F to find the word advertisement, so putting it on your about me only will probably get you a lot of ads. And usually, it's best to delete ads as soon as possible bc if someone's looking at profiles and already see an ad previously posted there, they're probably going to think that it's okay to advertise even without reading anything. :(

=/ it can be a bother sometimes. I'm just the type to allow ads to pop up;; but i do understand how annoying it is to see a notif and then see it's not about a fic or fandom but ads TT_TT

I find it way more useful to put "no ads" in your status because more advertisers will read that vs an about me.

Omg I can totally relate. I used to write kindly please do not advertise any ads on my wall nicely and still people keep on advertising it as if the note on my wall is invisible ><
