Idol Producer aka Rip-off P101 was hosted by Zhang Yixing, but then the official P101 is being hosted by Huang Zitao......tea...lol

 

I only watched the first (& second maybe, I forgot, it was a while ago lol) ep of Idol Producer, and Yixing was tough af like in my opinion his attitude was "wow, y'all think you're hot when in reality your all turds who need heavy work to even think about being idols." like the fact in the Pick Me MV there were only 7 kids in the A class...yet the show was gonna end up debuting 9 kids as the group lmao. I wasn't surprised though since he has high standards and I'm glad he wasn't lenient since it (probably) paid off. 

 

Whereas (I just learned 5 minutes ago Tao is the P101 host from looking at his insta) Zitao posts on insta a pic of the dorms as says "I wish I could live here. I wish I was a 17 year old girl." lol. Idk how tough of a host he is cause tbh I'm over the P101 format. I'm waiting for P48 just to see how much of a hot mess the comments and reactions will be, but other than that I'm fine off these competition shows to form temporary (or even permanant, idc at this point) groups. 

 

Nonetheless, out of China line, my favs are now Tao & Lay. I used to stan Luhan & Yifan, but idk, Kris' music is not my style whatsoever & Luhan is just...living his life just fine idk lol. I'll watch his drama with his gf whenever it comes out probably but like I'm not as interested in him as I am with the drama king Z.Tao & Lead Sheep of China Yixing haha.

i like IP better than the original. mnet has this habit of evil editing contestants and thats just so unfair bc then it gives the trainee/judge a bad rep. iqiyi tried doing evil editing, but it just came out as funny and now ive fallen in love with 98 of them. also, iqiyi at covering tattoos, so we get to see all of the glorious tattoos that manage to slip by XD
and the bromance is stronger in IP, so thats a plus too ♥

I like the official one better. It feels like things actually happen more? Idk like Idol Producer feels very slow and flat in comparison, even though it has a whopping four idols that I like on the judges panel. I only know Tao on P101 China, whom I don't even really like that much, yet I way prefer the judges, the dynamic between the judges, and just the general system of the show.

As for me I just love EXO's China line in general, because I was EXO-M biased back when they still existed. T_T

tbh i find tao as a more enjoyable mc than lay,, and i thnk that they don't really need to be neither lenient nor harsh cos they're just mcs, not their coaches. and some of his comments during the show, idk but i found them kinda unnecessary? like he was trying to be funny but he failed miserably (in my opinion)
(also none of these two are my faves and i dont like them especially so dont come at me)

Also having grown up with Chinese philosophy and very morally inclined parents what Tao said to those girls really had alot of meaning to me. (I saw that clip)
I loved him so much for pointing out how entitled and spoiled those girls are.
When we’re young our parents always say “how dare you be do ungrateful with your conditions when you live better than so many others. As I grew up and saw people living in poverty and hardship I grew to keep what my parents had told me always.
So much respect to Tao.
Based on just that clip I might just watch the show for him. (I don’t really like ANY of the girls tho)

I loved IP. The editors made it so none of them seemed like a-holes and they all seem friendly without jealousy and cheap drama. We also had cinnabun Linong. I didn’t find Yixing as overbearing as Pinky though. He was still more strict than I expected. (There goes his derp image)
No matter how much I like the original PD101 + Sequel IP takes the cake with editing. (Also low rank trainees get more of a chance, more screen time) Also there’s everyones lowkey mancrush on Xukun haha
ChengCheng was also unexpectedly cute. I love all the Yuehua boys. Yanjun and his jokes are my favorite though. I only stan 9% and Tfboysnfor Chinese groups even tho I am best at Chinese out of all Asian languages. LOL. I can follow all their stuff without translations
I didn’t watch pd101 china though.
It seems Tao was bullied as a trainee so he be more hesitant to give people a hard time. (Imo Tao releases the best music of all the former members, Kris music is not my style and Luhan music is pretty boring but I do watch when they come out) I’m not a big fan of their acting either. (Luhan was my chinaline bias btw, doesn’t affect whose work I turned out to like the best)

Tao is strict too... I'm in tears when he told the trainees the struggles he had when he still a trainee and the struggles after the debut and his life in the dorms...and how to works as a one whole family than be one groups..
Be grateful and working hard to achieve their dreams... He's so furious when he's looking at the fallen trainee and the other trainees don't even have a heart to helping her...
That's not a group behaved to each other's...

Lay and Tao is one of my favorites members back then...

I'm respected what Kris choose for his life..and Luhan.. i'm rarely heard of his news...

But Tao..... Besides Kai, he's the one who snatch my heart from his predebut teaser...

My first reaction to him ... He is so cool....!!! His martial arts is so stunning....

I'm not being bias and I'm respect them both...

For me, I prefer Idol Producer more. Not only Yixing is strict as hell, but the mentors also a tough nut to crack. Jackson who is always playing around and a jokester whilst his group Got7 got his professional act together which is pretty damn hot.
Kyulkyung and Chengxiao also is not slacking off despite their young career in the industry (but Kyulkyung trained for the longest)
Li ronghao and McJin is also not a joke when it comes to professional lesson.

I don't know much about PD101 CN which Tao hosted. But from the glimpse, I got that those who courted to A class is pretty much, the unnecessary fawn over Kimberly's team by the mentor when the group is not that "overwhelming" is just annoying. Too much drama and unnecessary compliment. But expected from Mnet.

Idol Producer is way better though it is also scripted. Still upset by the fact they didn't debuting a talented boy just because the producing team said so but it's nothing we can do about so yeah.

yixing is pretty strict cuz he got high expectations for himself and the trainees too, so it's nice to watch. altough tao is also strict on them, i feel like he's a bit more lenient? but then it all comes to the way the shows were edited... idol producer was more focused on the boys and the friendship they made throughout the show, whereas produce 101 is full of unecessarily edited drama.. not surprised tho since tencent partnered up with mnet so it was kinda expected...

I havent seen how Yixing is with the trainees but I know Tao is strict on them. I saw a snippet on IG where a girl fell and got hurt but none of the other teams went to check on her, and he went from 0-100 real quick. He was LIVID. I'm curious about Yixing now~ /Off I go to Youtube/

Same. I really admire Yixing & Tao bcuz they really strict although they're just a host n a mentor, still, they literally give their best to the trainees for the sake of their future. Meanwhile, Yifan's music is totally ain't my style. Idek what kind of music he's into but the only song from him that I like is Time Boils Over Rain and that's it. Luhan is doing fine hahahaha He really enjoys his working life & dating someone he loves. I will definitely won't miss Sweet Combat. I heard it's going to be on air in July or August huhu
