How I met my Boyfriend

Paradiso Vintage Demo Regular

I thought it'd be kinda fun to write how I met Joo as like a story...you guys should try it too. Write an event that happened as you would write one of your stories! I'm not even kidding this is pretty much how it went. I realized how freaking cliche it is...but deal with the facts. You can even ask Joo lol. Enjoy, I guess lol (in my pov 'cause third person would be kinda weird) Hopefully this helps you understand me better ^^

Oh! and I'm back from my break >.<

"I don't drink," I reminded my friend, who was attempting to persuade me to go out to karaoke with her 'and some other friends' through the phone. Whatever that even meant.

"It'll be fun! Please? I don't want to go alone.

I sighed and shut my laptop. "Sara, look. I don't want to leave the house today-"

She huffed into the phone. "Okay, look. Daniel is going, and I don't want to look dumb," she explained. "You know this is important to me. I'm going to mess things up if you don't go. And maybe you can meet someone too,

Wandering to my bathroom, I stared at my face, puffy from sleep. "So you want me to go because you like this one guy that you'll probably never talk to again? Oh fine. What time?"

Sara gave a little yelp of excitement. "Wait, you're going? And it's at eight."

"No, sorry, I was talking to my grandma- of course I'm going, idiot." I mumbled, turning the call to speaker. "And I need a ride." My hands fumbled to insert my contacts into my eyes, blinking rapidly when the right one stung slightly.

"Why do you never drive yourself? It's not like you don't have a car." she added, voice grainy through my phone's speakers.

I sighed. "I need a ride." I repeated, pulling my washed out blue hair from it's messy ponytail. "Or I'm not going."

Sara snorted. "Yeah, yeah. See you at seven-thirty. Bye....oh no, you should hang up first."

"Gladly," I replied with a slight grin, ending the call and tossing the now quiet phone onto the counter again.

Well, now came the extremely exhausting task of getting ready to leave the house. On a weekend. And I'd have to pull off my sweats and put on jeans or something. My heart clenched with slight regret.

I yanked a drawer open and pulled out a hair curler, shutting the door with my hip. Two burnt fingertips later and the smell of roasted hair drifting around me, I washed my face, flinching at the coldness of the water.

I sidled to my closet, not bothering with makeup since I doubted there'd be anyone important there. With that mentality, I threw on a cream colored sweater and squeezed into a pair of jeans, kicking on a random pair of shoes, and rushing out of the house, barely remembering to lock the door.

Sara waved at me, wiggling her fingers. "Gracieeee~" she cooed as I slipped into the passenger's seat. "You ready?"

*****

"Why is there so little people?" I asked my friend, staring through the small karaoke room, at the grand total of four people. "You made it seem like there'd be a crowd."

Daniel, Sara's unfortunate crush, shrugged and poured me a glass of water. "We've got one more coming. Another friend of mine."

I nodded, sipping at the glass. Daniel and I had an...interesting relationship. He was a pianist who I geeked out musically occasionally. Like a majority of my friends, he was Korean and we'd slip the language in casually in conversation.

Sara jumped a mile when the door slammed open and a surprisingly deep voice let out a "Sorry, I'm late-"

I turned to tease the guy, mouth opening to say a greeting, but I froze when I saw his face. He wasn't real. His eyes reminded me of Lee Jong Suk. Suddenly my bare face flushed and I smiled tentatively.

"Hi," he said, waving awkwardly. "I'm Joohyun."

God, even his name is beautiful. And his voice. And his height. And his face. And his smile.

"Do you want my Korean name or my English name?" I asked, grinning slightly.

Joohyun smiled, handsome face brightening. "Both. Or I mean, whatever you want."

"Aram. Or Gracie." I replied, brushing my embarassingly, well, blue, hair from my eyes.

He held out his hand, which, was definitely the hand of a pianist with long, slender fingers. I shook it only a little awkwardly. "Nice to meet you."

"Shall we start?" Sara asked, hands guarding the remote from Daniel's groping digits, once everyone had been introduced. "Does anyone want to go first?" When nobody replied, she gave me an evil look. "What about Gracie?"

"Oh no," I muttered, shaking my head. "I can't sing."

Joohyun shifted beside me. "I could sing with you...if you want. I'm sure we could find a song we both like."

"Uh," I coughed, clearing my throat. "Dream? Baekhyun and-"

"Suzy, right?"

My lips curled up. "Yeah,"

Sara punched in the numbers, and the track began to play, with excited whoops from our friends. Joohyun lifted the mic to his very kissable lips and began to sing.

Wow, this guy can sing too. I found a little more of my weak heart fall.

Somehow I lost track of where I was supposed to come in, so I stumbled slightly, trying to figure out where the track was.

Joohyun burst out into laughter. "No, no!" he said once I fumbled to a stop self-consciously. "Keep singing," he encouraged, wrapping an arm around my shoulders and swaying to the music in an exaggerated manner. "Er, sorry," he removed his arm once he realized how touchy he was being. "I make lots of people uncomfortable-"

I shook my head and grinned, continuing to sing, reaching to place the arm back on my shoulder.

Once the song ended, he giggled. "You play the cello, right?"

"Yeah."

"You've got the most adorable singing, ever. I never someone could sing out of tune and still be so charismatic while doing it."

I turned bright red. "Uh, thanks?"

He grinned and handed the mic to Daniel. "You're very welcome."

Crap.
