Why 'Members Only' restriction

For anybody wondering why I put the restriction to 'Members Only' on my works (specifically the ones with ), it is because AFF censors the hell out of words it deems inappropriate for any minors (below 18). Even when it asks if you're above 18 and you check yes, it will still censor it unless you're signed in. I guess for safety measures on their part.

Just know I'm not doing it to be picky on readers or anything, in fact I hate for there to be any restrictions at all, and most I do link to AO3 where I crosspost some stuff and is free to view by anyone.

*On a side note: I'll never put up a 'Subscribers Only' restriction. I get why some people do it, but I honestly see no point in it for me.

I do it so that my works remain at its full integrity upon public viewing, and not to be read in a half-baked censored version where any words referring to human ia are completely wiped out, leaving for some awkward, head-scratching reading.

I mean, it's bad enough for there to be spelling and grammatical errors I've missed over editing, let alone missing phrases/words from some mandatory censorship.

I just thought that needed to be said since it isn't explicitly explained (to my knowledge, anyway). I figured it out when I was too lazy to sign in and read some works I've previously read, only to find some missing words I know wasn't an issue before.
