My favourite characters

I just really wanted to talk about my favorite characters. As a disclaimer, I write genderbend, if you didn't know.

I'm not saying to read the stories. I just wanted to talk. ; _ ;

I encourage you to tell me about your favorite characters of your own (or perhaps of mine if you've read my stories, lmao).

 Meet Kim Jongin from Psycho.

Jongin is an honest to god horrible character, but he's so well-fleshed out in his horror that I really cannot not love him.

He was born to a loving family, has two older sisters and his parents are still together. He also suffers from psychopathy and plays a mental game with himself.

He feels no sympathy, no remorse, no guilt. He doesn't care about other people but himself but he has learned rules of society from his family and it makes him even more dangerous. Jongin is charming, he knows situations in which to pretend to be sorry, he knows how to manipulate and work the world around his fingers.

He even has a tattoo of a barbed wire around his pinky finger to portray exactly that; the world manipulated by his hand.

Jongin does feel frustration and anger, though. The emotions can be so strong they let him act out in aggression. If he ever loses his head, it's in a bout of frustration because he's losing the game he's playing with himself.

He gets bored quite easily as well and he hates not getting recognized. Granted, "getting recognized" is not a particularly good thing because the things he does get recognition for is usually crimes. That said, though, he doesn't like giving the credit to others.

He's not scared of much, although he would tell you love is the scariest of them all.

Good thing, Jongin is such a wonderful actor.

Having learnt society rules, however, Jongin is not a man you would like to meet. Seriously, I can't stress this enough, he's a monster.

His favorite color is the deep red of venous blood, his favorite music is classical and his favorite food is a good steak.

Technically we're not going to talk about all 5 GIRLee girls, but rather just three of them.

Gwiboon from LoveGame

Junghee from Zeri

Eunsook from Because of You

-----

Let's start with Eunsook. If you're unaware and not well-versed in SHINee, she's the pink-haired girl with the cap to the right in the fanart picture.

Eunsook is an orca. Well, not technically an orca. She's an O-rank demon. The demons in Because of You have a clear distinct ranking system and Eunsook is on top of it. She's awfully strong as a demon but not very happy with it.

She's soft at heart which is very unlike her powers and she generally doesn't want to hurt other people, especially not humans. However, the pull in her to do some damage is inevitable, just like it is with all demons. Even if it wasn't, Eunsook has the potential to hurt humans, just by simply being in the vicinity of them and she cannot live a life barren from the outer world lest she wants to hurt herself.

She and her best friend Minho changes university after a major event caused by Eunsook at the old one. She removes herself to get away, the reminder of what she's done a little too much for her to bear every day and Minho just follows.

But Eunsook is more than just a soft-hearted demon. She's also ridiculously flirtateous.

She's a good-looking girl with a nice set of hips and DD-cup s. Honestly, her S-line is to die for and her long, silk hair and soft facial features make her all the more charming and lovable. She could probably get every man under her spell if she wanted. But she doesn't.

Eunsook uses flirting to remove the conversation subject from her. She doesn't like the attention, prefers to stay in the shadows where she can't make as much damage, but she also genuinely likes the company of humans. Humans are fun and kind (well, some of them anyway) and where demons can be judgmental s, humans have no concept of the demon rankings and what she potentially can do to them.

Eunsook has a beautiful singing voice and really enjoys singing. You'll hear her sing and then blush furiously when she realizes you listened in.

Before you get to know her, however, she's really contradictory, seemingly not liking attention yet flirting a lot. She's soft-hearted but can be harsh when needed. Confrontations is not her best moments and debates can get her riled up if she's passionate about the subject.

She's studying Chemistry, loves chocolate and her favorite color is royal blue. Her favorite animal is cats and she's afraid of rollercoasters.

Junghee from Zeri is a strong woman. (The smallest one on the fanart). Her hair is pink and usually worn in a high ponytail. She lives in a strongly misogynistic society.

For ages, women have been "trapped" by men because of a magic legend of love and domestic violence is a daily occurence and nobody really bats an eyelid because "this must be love".

Junghee, however, is of a different belief. She doesn't believe women to be less than men and she certainly doesn't believe in love. Love is a lie sold by companies and men and she's not having any of that. Her parents, sister and friends all tell her to get married, settle down. She's 27, surely she must soon meet a man, get over her "ridiculous" job and start a new life as a housewife.

Junghee has no intention of doing that.

She's a CEO in a large company and she has worked her way to the top. She believes in women and although she's aware of the gossip in the office, she ignores it.

Junghee is not completely immune to the gossip. It makes her angry, sometimes makes her feel insecure and worried. She can't change her beliefs and she has no intention of, but when everybody questions your abilities, sometimes you start to question yourself as well.

She's very independent, perhaps too much, and she can protect herself. She doesn't need anybody but she really likes company. She finds company in her small dragon, but - you know, sometimes it's just not enough.

To the outside world, Junghee is a strong CEO and she inspires especially the receptionist Taeyeon, but in her apartment, Junghee is a little lonely and way too headstrong. Unable to see other things but "the known" and unable to stray from the path tried and true, she has closed herself in a small world built on certain ideals that ensures that she doesn't fall prey to loneliness, insecurity and vulnerability in a society of vultures.

It takes a special someone to allow her to step out of her comfort zone and it isn't willingly.

Junghee loves dragons, is a fan of fireproof paper and her favorite food is dried squid.

Gwiboon from LoveGame is a cutie. (She's also the one with braids and green hair in the photo).

She's also my ideal female (I would date her, seriously).

Gwiboon is a good-looking woman with a uality and she doesn't put lid on it. If she wants to have , she wants to have and then she has . She's no stranger to one-night-stands and even though she prefers to disappear before the one-night-stand has awakened, she is not afraid of going clubbing the next day. She also doesn't stray from wearing y clothes and mini-skirts.

She can drink more alcohol than most of her male friends and she's a Goddess in the art of flirting. Gwiboon plays a game with men and she knows how to win. Oh yeah, and she's straight. (Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Gwiboon has been "the mistress" in the past.... She's no angel).

But Gwiboon is so much more than just her uality. She's a smart woman, studying interior design. She loves fashion and make-up but also loves playing board games and winning. She's an honest to god horrible loser.

She laughs a lot and knows the most terrible jokes, but she's also a really good friend. Even though she means well, her advices are usually - but she's a good listener. Spontaneous, she's the friend you want to ask onto an adventure - she's likely to be ready to go.

Gwiboon has her downsides, though. She's not in touch with her emotions at all. Happy and sad, sure, those are easy to recognize and bury. Everything else, however? Completely in denial. Gwiboon doesn't know love, she doesn't know depression, she doesn't know insecurity.

Except - she does, of course she does. She just completely rationalizes everything and pushes her feelings away so she doesn't have to act on it. It's easier to slowly disappear from those who make you feel than face your insecurities and your emotions. Gwiboon has lived a long life doing this and man, it's the worst.

She's really bad at admitting when she's wrong and getting an apology from her is rare. When she does apologize, it's sincere, though, but only because it will have been haunting her for almost weeks.

And no, she has never felt heartbroken because she has never been truly in love.

Gwiboon at ice-skating but is a master on rollerblades and nobody understands how the heck that works but - it's what it is. Her favorite foods are mandu and ice cream (well, not together but you know), her period cramps makes her vomit and sometimes, in rare occasions, faint and her favorite book is The Vegetarian by Han Kang.

And last but certainly not least - meet Lee Jinki from Show Must Go On.

This Jinki is my favorite of all my Jinki's because of his complex downfall.

Jinki is a bestseller author with a lot of romance novels to his name and a lot of stress that keeps him up at night. He spends time staring at his screen when he's in a block and still he forces himself through words after words.

There is one thing that is his true failure though - his insecurity and vulnerability.

Jinki needs to be accepted and constantly reminded that he's good enough. He doesn't suffer from any mental illness but his perfectionist mind is prone to constantly doubting himself and his success. Maybe what he does isn't good enough - and he never finds a way to accept himself for who he is and he never learns that mistakes are a part of being human.

So therefore, in his quest to become "the best" he finds more and more gruesome methods to achieve the only thing he has ever strived for - recognition.

The need to succeed and the need to gain acceptance overpowers his morality at one point and Jinki loses his humanity.

Before all that, however, he was but a young man with a dream and a hobby. He led a simple life, tried to do the right thing and worked hard to find the joy in life. He had

friends who cared for him and whom he cared for. He was a charming man with a wide smile on his face and a somewhat downcast glance in shyness. Grandmas, especially, cooed over him because he was adorable and Jinki soaked it all up, learnt to build his self-confidence on approval of others.

Anyway, I have other characters who I love a lot, especially the Starchildren merpeople and some characters in non-published (non-written) stories.

Oh well.

Tell me about your favorite characters! Please!

Your own preferably. (Or mine, because .. well, yes :p )

Haven't read psycho but wanted to ask, why is a psychopath scared of love? Psychopaths don't feel love so... why would he be afraid of it?

Don't remind me that the starchildren weren't destined to be in love but were siblings. Please. xD

Ironically my favorite character of yours is the Chanyeol from "Under a Mask of Good". The killer no one knew about until Jongin (unfortunately not the same pscyopath he is in "Psycho") found him out. The way he kills is just...something maybe I would have done if I wasn't born as me and was somewhat of a genius. xD Not kidding. I hate peopleee! Okay I don't hate people. I just don't like them sometimes.

I think the only character of mine you liked was Yeong. The kid who prefered education over the sword :D Dunno if you remember though, that was a while ago xD
