Personality 
Same as any other girls out there, Rhujin is a cheerful girl who is hardworking in all the things she does. Ryujin is the mood maker of the group as she has a playful side and even pranks the other members but not to the point where the prank can harm them or hurt their feelings. Ryujin's parents taught her not to be spoiled and if she really wants something she has to work hard for it. Whether it would be having good grades in school or something else. Ryujin has a driven personality, Since she wants to be involved in the entertainment industry she was taught to be open minded in all the criticisms she will receive and use those criticisms to motivate her to do better. She would like to describe herself as a deep kind of person. This girl has a positive outlook in life, Ryujin can be seen as a deep kind of person and she doesnt believe in bad luck nor in good luck. 

She has negative side though. being impatient is one of them. She has trouble waiting for people, she dislikes it if someone asks her to meet them and she will be the one to arrive early. Ryujin doesnt like it when things are in a slow pace, she doesnt like beating around the bush. Ryujin wants things to be done immediately, Unless it was a sunbaenim or a staff member she tolerates it. Her impatience leads her to become anxious, which sometimes causes her to over think. She is also a bit selfish when it comes to her favourite food such as tteokbokki,kimbap,and jokbal, especially dumplings or any personal items of hers, like clothes or make-up (She says its because of hygeinic reasons). Though there are also times when she gets a bit aggressive whenever she plays games on her phone she likes to beat her high score, She is quite competitive.

 

Background 
Born on April 16 2001 to a small family living in San Francisco, California. As a child Ryujin really loved to perform as soon as she heard some music, Ryujin gets up on her feet and starts to dance around the room. She was around 3 when she started doing that. Ryujin never got proper lessons, she mostly just copied whatever she saw on tv.

With the minimal knowledge she knows she tried out for the school dance team at the age of 7. Ryujin was the only one who got accepted in her grade level, the rest were upperclassmen (around 2nd grade- 6th grade). Ryujin's skills further improved ever since she joined. The dance team joins inter school competitions in which they place either 1st or 2nd.

When she was at 6th grade, She and her family moved back to Seoul,South Korea as her father was asked to move there by the company he was working for. When she was 13 her family moved to Seoul as her father was asked to transfer there. She continued her schooling in Seoul School of Performing Arts. In 2014 she and her other classmates in school formed a dance team and they perform at Hongdae every fridays. 

After a perfomance in Hongdae someone scouted their group and asked them to Audition at Source Music Entertainment. The results of the audition were that only 3 out of 5 members of their team passed the audition and Ryujin was one of them.

Ryujin trained in Source Music entertainment until 2016, The entertainment asked some of their trainees to move to a different entertainment. Personally Ryujin likes joining small entertainments rather than big ones that's why she chose to transfer to Moon Entertainment.

— Father / Im Woojin / 45 / Lawyer / He works almost everyday, he isnt   that   close to Ryujin as he is always busy with work. He is very much   supportive   with Ryujin's decisions in life

— Mother / Kim Ryu / 44 / House-wife / She looks after Ryujin the most   as  she only stays at home. She is closest to Ryujin and is the most   supportive as she was the one who accompanied Ryujin when she went   to audition. 

— Bestfriend / Lee Hana / 18 / Student / Ryujin's classmate in school. Both of them are in the same dance team that they formed with their other classmates. Sadly she wasnt accepted when their group auditioned. The two still hang out at school or whenever Ryujin isnt busy with training, They would either go out in hongdae and watch other performances or play at the arcade.

Trainee years 2015 - 2017 (1 year and 6 months - Source Music 6 months Moon Ent) 

Trainee life 
Training was harder than Ryujin expected. Sure she used to have trainings in her dance team before but it wasnt as intense as training under a company. She experienced having sprained ankles and sometimes high fevers but it doesnt stop her from quitting. Ryujin took every criticism well though sometimes she feels bad but she knows its to help her improve.

She was surprised that she was one of the chosen trainees to transfer to another company. Ryujin chose Moon ent. as it is a small company. Ryujin likes small companies more than big companies because they focus on their trainees more. Her training experience in Source Music wasnt that much different with Moon ent. 

Pre-debut

Scandals 

— Did Rose's Ryujin have plastic surgery ? | In the near future | One of Ryujin's pre-debut photos surfaced online and netizens noticed her eyelids were uneven back then compared to now. Ryujin didnt really spoke up about it until it was ask in a show where they invited some of the Rose members including Ryujin. Ryujin said she used eyelid tape for 3 months straight to somehow even out her eyelids.
