appearanceIn the early morning when she preps the kitchen, she wears the full apron over her short sleeve blouse and shorts or skirt. When it's around noon, she changes her apron into the waist apron and keeps her hair in a high pony tail or a bun. Her usual color scheme is white, pastel pink and blue. She rarely wears heels and always opted for her simple purple sneakers and sometimes simple black ones due to her already tall height and for comfort due to all day standing while working.

backgroundRiko was born in Seoul, South Korea before she moved back to her parent's hometown in Tokyo, Japan at age 9 after her father completed his masters in food design, she is the eldest daughter of two girls to a famous Chocolatier and CEO, Mikazuki Taisho and a painter, Okazaki Yuko.Riko grew up watching her mother paint and learned from that and she's good at recognizing ingredients of dessert that her father made and she was taught by her aunt ever since she was 10 until she graduates high school, who is also a pastry chef.She was brought up with a burden of someday being as great as her father and inheriting his Chocolate company, Mikatsuki Chocolates, they produce a very unique ans smooth chocolates and supplies it to bakeries all over the world and also creates chocolate moon shaped bare called 'Milky Lune'. She is very close to her younger who are 6 years younger, who is a very spoilt girl who  was born with a heart condition  and  she depends and idoliizes her. Her sister was very weak when she was younger and had to be homeschooled until high school and in middle school she had been hospitalized for two open heart surgery and Riko was always by her side, taking care of her and Rrii, her sister, is a very mature girl and always appreciate her and has the optimistic to the fault kind of personality and made Riko more protective of her. Riko can talk to her about anything and also Rui towards Riko.When her sister was able to get her high school diploma early, Rui promised to come and live with her to accompany her.She has a goal of taking care of her sister after she inherits the company and giving her sister a freedom to be whatever she wants after having to homeschooled and got her high school disploma at age of 16. With the gift of making desserts that her sister loves, she decided to perfect her skill in order to achieve her goals and take over the company. After Highschool, she called her childhood friend whom she met in elementary school to find job and coincidentally her friend is the owner of the Blizzard Snow cafe. She started working part time while going to Ewha University and study business where she was born and had lived for her first 9 years of her life. Ever since she lives away from her family she felt more confident in being independent and when her sister came to Korea to study Law, she felt more dependable and sometimes she gets stressed out due to the responsiblity and when that happens she calls her parents on facetime and talk for hours.The relationship between Riko and Sungsook is that, they aren't very close in elementary school, but their mother's used to be close friends in their college and it was a given this two became friends. It was Sungsook's mother who told them about Sungsook is opening a cafe and Riko's mother asked if Riko could work there as a pastry chef in order to get experiences, the two agree. Riko didn't like working under someone she used to know, but since she has nowhere to work and tried her best to reconnect with her childhood friend even as employee and employer.

 

lifestyleRiko already graduated and got her degree. Now she works full time at the cafe. She lives in a an apartment with her sister who is going to college. She lives 15 minutes away from the cafe. She goes to work at 7:30 in the morning riding her bicycle and start the prepping. Around 9, she starts making fresh cakes and other desserts, usually around 2pm she keeps the finished desserts in the freezer so the other staff can take it out to the display fridge. She goes back home to change and around 5 she goes back to the cafe to help out. She gets off work at 6:45. She goes to pick up her sister to eat out and sometimes goes window shopping. On weekends, she only goes to work in the morning to check on the inventory and if its short on few dessert she would try to make something simple and goes back home before 12 to cook lunch and around 3 she goes to an art studio of her friend's, sometimes to paint and sometime she just stay and chat. At night she would go out for a walk with her dog everyday. Everytime she sketches or create a new dessert she would go to her sister for a feed back as soon as possible, even if she's at school, she would go there with extra desserts to give to her sister's friends.

thanks for refreshing my memory! what made you want to work for me initially? Riko nods and crosses her legs. "well, my sister wanted to come and live with me so i decided to work here to earn extra to support her while she studies and i can perfect my ability in making desserts"

 

uh huh. and your official title is...?"I'm the Pastry Chef, the creator of those colorful desserts you see in those display fridge"

 

great! how do you feel about working here?"It's very rewarding, the place and the customers gives me the inspiration i need to come up with new desserts and i'm learning a lot too"

 

i see... let me write that one down. okay, what's your favorite dish or drink we serve?"the teas of course, i love them all and it's very well brewed unlike other places"

 

alright. do you have any suggestions or comments about working here?"Well...for now nothing. But i would love it if the lights aren't too bright, it'll melt the ice cream cake easily"

 

okay, not as bad as i was expecting, which is good. but more importantly... what do you honestly think of the cafe across the street?"Honestly, i don't think about them at all...i mean they need to do something to earn for a living right? and i'm not worried since we serve above average good food and a lot of people like us."

She is consider a genius because of her incredble strong willed. Riri is quite shy around new people. she can be lazy when she's around her sister and loves being pampered by her sister. Despite her weak heart, she does not let anyone pity her and very ambitious, she studied hard on home schooling and somehow able to get her GED early. She was so excited to moved in with her sister and dreams to be a lawyer like in the movies she loved to watch.

Nana is the co founder of the company and the one who taught Riko everything she knows. Nana is a very strict person and has tough love towards her nieces. She wants to retire from the company and work in France for her culinary, but she has to wait until Riko takes over the company so she can leave at ease and doesn't trust her brother very much with the business.
