Under my magical blanket, lived a tiny dinosaur. No one knew, no one cared enough to know. No one believed, no one cared enough to believe.
Like a stary night, he glowed. Like a sunny day, he shone.
He would disappear in the morning
He would tell me stories at night
Once, he sneaked into my pocket
Twice, he hid in my bag
but never did he show himself
“I live inside you. No one can see me” he said
I couldn’t understand him.
“I see you” I replied “isn’t that enough?”
He smiled and threw the magical blanket over us
“When it comes to people, it’s never enough”
I still couldn’t understand.
Then one night, the dinosaur came to me and said “You’re a wonder, kid, but if you don’t let the world see you, you won’t be able to see the world”
“I don’t want to see the world, I have you” I retorted.
“I won’t last.I’m just a fragment of your imagination” He muttered sadly.And that’s when I knew what he meant.
“You can’t go, I need you” I plead.
“But do you want me in your life, Kid?”
“Of course I do” I protested
“then, are you ready to fight for me?” he asked and I hesitated. I knew what he meant, but I couldn’t answer. I didn’t understand enough to answer.
The next day, I asked mom “what if you believe in something that doesn’t exist?”
She smiled and pulled me closer to her. “Then I’ll have to prove that it’s real. If you truly believe in something, you have to go for it”
That’s when I understood what the dinosaur meant. So that night, I hid under my blanket and called for him.
“The world can’t see you, and that’s fine, because I’m here and I’ll prove to them that you are the realest thing I know”
“Are you ready for this battle kid?” he asked and I never felt so sure in my life before.
“Let’s go for it, dream”
