[Thought] Eleanor & Park

Hello, this is maybe my first blog. But don't mind me. I was eager to share with someone about my new favorite novel all the time. I'm always late for appreaciating art, so stay put and read my honest thought on this new book. I was so hyper till I dreamed some parts being played perfectly in my dreams. .

I just going through some of the e-books as I started reading an e-book after Bad Billionaire by Julie Kriss if I'm not mistaken. From the time being, I was hooked with the world of e-book and do some research for my leisure time. I hate communicate with others tbh. They make felt suffocate and not belong there. With my phone, I almost possibly lock myself out from their circles. Their 'usual' circles of throwing hates toward other, shaming some of the girls, bullying and not so healthy physical threat which you can assume why I'm out from the circles.

I wasn't born to be a bully. I used to get bullied a lot by my schoolmate. By how weird I smile, by weird how I used shawl to cover my hair (proud Muslim here!) and everything. I was born in a broken family and my mother treats me like a garbage. My dad couldn't do anything about it as I assumes, he will never won against mom. Just like Gabriella's mom in The Long Road Home by Danielle Steel.

Reading and writing was my only way to escapes from reality. Others are describing me as some of weirdo in a class and others shameful name you could think off. It was hard for living the past. I never liked my childhood memories if you ask me. I'm scared with them. Mother used to beat me with all stuff she can reach to hit me. Which toodlers will like them?

But damn, I survived.

Sorry for the introduction. Didn't mean to tell you my lame stories.

And so...

I had never been reading about how beautiful Rainbow Powell wrote. But from the articles and some suggestion by my colleagues, I stumbled upon Rainbow Rowell somehow in some random blog. But I still didn't get my passion to read them as I let the e-book later while reading the 'best' first based on their cover. Lol me.

I choosed Eleanor & Park.

The story is not a cliche as I thought it always be. It started with random conversations that Park Sheridan talk to his colleague in a bus. Then, Eleanor Douglas happen to be the new girl with red hair, fat and not so heroine type that you always see in major drama, movie and fiction nowadays. She was far being than perfect. Park was never attracted to her as their first conversations first and ended with Park scolding Eleanor to take a sit beside him on the bus. Park hated Eleanor for being weird than others. Park had never wanted a weirdo as Eleanor sits beside him.

But at the next day, Park found Eleanor take his seat and together, they shares a ride without sparing each other a look.

Park has never initiated a conversations with Eleanor, so do Eleanor.

While Eleanor, I can say she lives the hardest of her life. She is back after being kicked out by his step-father, Richie. She used to stay at her friend house, Tammy. But then, Tammy's parent didn't feel comfortable after Eleanor had stay with them without intention to go home. Eleanor's mom take her before bringing her back to Richie's house. Which mean, Eleanor had to transferred to her new school.

And met Park on the bus.

The story is writen beautifully by Mrs Rowell.

Park found that Eleanor always read his comic book without his notice and Park felt the need to share with Eleanor. And since then, Park has always bringing a new comic to read on the bus with Eleanor. But till then, Park and Eleanor have never talk to each other.

Both of them were 16, which mean a suit age to fall in love and learn about opposite es.

Just like Agustus Water and Hazel Grace in The Fault in Our Stars by John Green that met when they were 16. 16 and 17 were the best ages to met someone opposite and felt the attraction toward each other. But too bad, I had never got a chance to love someone when I was 16 and 17 as I was busy running away from troubles. Lol.

Park is such a sweet.

Eleanor is such an art.

And differents completed them, if you asked me.

Park is not your-random-boy-next-door. He was Korean, small eyes as our oppas look in a real life. Except Park was born in America  his mother is a korean and whitewashed based on his mother genes. Park learns taekwando and his mom opened a hair saloon. (Park's real mother name is Min-Dae) As the story potrayed on somehow around 1966 (correct me if I'm wrong!) and America, being Asian is wrong. But with Park, he hasn't receive any hatred by his colleague as Park was very quite and mysterious with his eyes. Up till now, he met the weird Eleanor and he felt bad by leaving Eleanor at his own seat.

They communicate with each others through comic and music. Park had been gibing Eleanor some of his favorite musics for Eleanor to listened and Eleanor refused them first but Park make her to take it without arguement.

Eleanor, on the other hand is such an art, just like Park said.

She couldn't afford a toothbrush. She couldn't afford a battery for her walkman and had been using Park's walkman everytime Park lending them to her. She couldn't eat anything nutritious just like Richie had. She just had nothing.

But, she knows she had Park.

She lived for him.

I could go far if my time didn't stop me.

So, I'm just going to skip these and keep you up with my favorite part.

I like everything in these wonderful book.

But some parts have make me smile in happiness.

I liked the part where Park put the earbud into Eleanor's ear just because Eleanor was mad from Park's sudden visiting to her house last night. She gettin scolded by Richie and her mom. Park had been saying sorry but Eleanor stays silent. And Park think putting an earbud into Eleanor's ear is the right choice he did and yes, Eleanor did smiled at the end of the day.

Also, I liked the part where Park being angry toward Eleanor just because Eleanor cried in his house and refused to stay any longer. Park didn't look at Eleanor and stay away from Eleanor just like the first time they met. Eleanor reach to Park's hand and rub her thumbs on Park's palm.

Oh ya Allah. I could blabbered this stuff all night long.

And now, I do hope I met someone that I can share my favorite book with him. And I'm 22 now.

But whatever, life goes on. May happiness greet us.

Here, some of my favorite fanart about Eleanor & Park.

I heard they are going to have a movie for it?
