Bad authors

Now to the blog post!

Bad authors..... I came across 3 of them. Here is what happened and triggered me to write this blog:

Till now I've encountered 3 bad authors on aff. All of them are similar cases. So, me (a totally honest person) wrote sth I liked and sth I didn't abt their story. The authors of course only payed attention to the thing I didn't and started offending me personally (Even though I didn't offend them personally). Some misunderstandings happened but they still believe I'm a horrible person who goes on and hates on people over the internet. Now here's the thing:

I'm an honest person who will tell you if your story (sth that I noticed almost no one does on aff) but I'm not emotionless. If I do write sth negative or sth that I don't like abt your story, I'll make sure I write sth good as well. But I see many don't accept that...

Here's a piece of my mind:

If you can't take the heat of negative comments THEN DON'T POST THE STORY! You put your story out there for people to read, don't disable the comments section, don't write a warning that you're sensitive with negativity, so boi you gotta expect a whole bunch of opinions and if you can't handle that you need to get out of the kitchen! I'll write my honest opinion even though the rest of aff says your story is amazing! I have the right to comment my opinion as long as I don't offend you, which I didn't. So why do you offend me?

Look of course you can get defensive. But as long as you call me names for writing my opinion on a story you willingly put out there for me to read, then boi you crossed the line!

It's sad to see how many people are like "OMG author nim I love you" "you're the best author ever" without knowing their true faces.

Look it's not me the problem! I wrote many honest comments and most authors thanked me bcs they could improve their story like that. So to all the authors out there:

If you think that you can't take negative comments then go to your stories now and warn the readers abt it. If you don't do nothing, then I'll write my opinion. Accept it or go home.

Do you know how many fanfics I written and never published them? You're asking why? Bcs IK i cant take the heat of so many opinions. So either you keep your mouth shut and accept every comment (that isn't offensive towards you personally) or you become like me. Simple.

Sooo that was my blog today. Did you ever came across a bad author? Pls tell me abt it and your opinion in the comments. PLS WRITE COMMENTS I DO THAT TO CONVERSATE WITH YOU GUYS! Many people will ignore this anyways...

I can agree with everything said here. Saying 'omg this story is awesome' when you have no idea, can really make things worse. Like, there are TONS of horrid writers on aff and no one says anything... I'm not asking people to bash, just, help eachother get better...

I can you feel you. There are some good authors who take both good and other comments that point out their mistakes. I think authors must take both of comments. That can help them to reduce their mistakes and make the story good when new readers read it. Idk why some people can't obviously understand that fact. That's quite a huge drama. /shrug/

Yeah, this seems to be quite a true statement you have made here. I can't really remember myself if I've seen it with my eyes, something like this ever happening, but this definitely isn't the first time I've seen someone bring up a situation like this. I will admit myself, I for one love getting nice comments saying how good my stories are (if they are) but I too would like peeps to be honest. So lately, I've added like a little P.S. at the end of my forewords letting peeps know that anything they have to say, even if it may be negative or about something they dislike and especially constructive criticism (cause ya know, there are cases where even if someone may like a story or parts of it, doesn't mean they'll be stuff they don't). So yeah.

I can't believe that happened to you!!! I as a fellow author will take honest comments, all authors should be doing that. You got some hurt authors on hand.
