Longings

I wish I can unchoose you

My heart so needs a reprieve

My mind longs for passive silence

My arms, without a bone-yearning need.

But the nights are long and heavy laden

With silence that stretches for miles

In the darkness my thoughts are never calm and quiet

They chase me to and fore, far and wide.

I wish I can unchoose you

'Tis my neverending quest for peace

I cannot wish for what is mine no longer

And this heart so badly needs a reprieve...
