appearance & style —
Minho himself does prefer him some hip hop style clothes, black and white prefered. But if given by the entertainment, he'll wear anything. Literally anything. Give him a dress and he'll wear it even though he'll hate the out of it. Same goes for make-up. He hates it but if applied because the CEO says so, he'll not complain even once. There's something about him the entertainment has some problems with, though. His tattoos. Minho has several tattoes on his arms. On the inner side of his left arm there is diamond while on the outside there's the line saying "Born again, still your son", dedicated to his parents who abandoned him, while on his right arm there is a barcode.

me, me, and me.

personality
THOSE WITH POTENTIAL NEVER ARE EASY. Being born with a lot of talent has its good but also its bad sides. For Minho his talent meant his life but it also ruined it. He's a passionate person who seeks to develop everything regarding the things he loves. However, he clearly knows where he wants to go, what he likes and dislikes, therefore he often clashes with others as he doesn't keep his thoughts for himself, always honestly sharing his opinions - and those aren't vocalized in a decent way most of the time. He also gets very defensive when things are getting personal. He doesn't like talking about himself, especial not talking about his feelings or problems. He just doesn't bother others with it. Minho wouldn't like others bothering him with it either. You want to criticize him? Welp, there he goes all defensive and also aggressive, too. Even though this kid doesn't like to share his feelings, he's overly expressive in the way he acts. You will easily know when he gets upset - because you might have a one-on-one face meets fist if you get on the bad side of him. He's also good at expressing his feelings through words or movements. If they truly are what he feels like. He hates being fake. And also only if it's something that doesn't involve others. A rap that he might perform in front of others might reach an audience but to him those words are meant for him alone. Same goes for dancing. Even though spectators will watch him in awe, to him it's not about showing off or trying to impress. He dances because it's his passion and it means fun to him. Simple as that. But forget about all I just mentioned. He's not one in the position to choose who he wants to be. And he's realistic enough to knows exactly in which position he is.

BUT SOMETIMES THEY JUST GET OVER THE TOP. BigHit has managed to get Minho all under control. This means instead of blurting out the he thinks, he'll just keep all silent when staffs are around. He'll obey like a starving dog, only wanting to be properly fed by its owner. Do I need to mention how hard this is for him? An impulsive person like Minho that easily freaks out and looses his temper as quick as an egg lands on the floor if you drop it, keeping his calm and not being able to express himself his hell. He's idiosyncratic, he wants things to go his way. But since they don't, all he has left is being that morose, salty burrito that people often see on TV. Yeah, usually he's more open about things, he'd casually talk to the co-members he likes and even share his opinion once or twice, but once there are cameras around, he turns into that ice cold guy that looks inviolable. Plus the fact that people often dub him as a boy. Ice cold boys, what do you want more? (Don't call him that straight to his face tho, he'll go rampant.) To his co-members he can be the typical him. Expressive, honest and stubborn... oh, never try to argue with this boy. He'll never stop, not even if hell starts freezing. Just when staffs are involved, he'll immediately back off which to some members is a super fun game to take advantage of. And it's no fun to Minho at all. Oh yeah, before I forget it... remember when I mentioned he doesn't like being cute and stuff? Minho is of the opinion that guys have to be manly. He's very conservative in that way of thinking but the Hip Hop scene had made him especially rough when it comes to that. Guys dancing to girlgroup choreographies or even dressing like girls are the absolute horror to him! And homoual people? Oh , don't bring that topic on the table. Minho can be an insensitive, rude jerk when talking about ualities. He's not the most tolerant, you know?

likes —
» Poetry - his guilty pleasure. It's relaxing. But he'd never share anything of it.
» Watching streetdancers - especially anything that has to do with popping and locking.
» Junk Food - Taccos, Burritos, Pizza, Burger, Chicken or just simply Korean Streetfood. He can't get enough of it.

dislikes —
» Everything that's cute - no matter what and even when girls do it. Stop pretending you're 5, girl. Are you a woman or a child? I'm not into kids, sorry.
» Cover dancers - he thinks they're lame. Do your own thing people, copies aren't good for anything. Like seriously who needs that.
» K-Dramas - People who think that's what real life looks like are stupid.

funfacts
» Smoking - yes, he smokes. So what. He's still sportive and he doesn't sing so why should he care about his voice? Plus, he saw those other trainees smoke, too. Don't judge him.
» Hitting walls and beating up trash cans - when he has to endure a lot and the anger level hits a certain point, he'll keep quiet until he's alone and then freak out. Don't walk in him when that happens otherwise you might replace that trash can.
» Ruining cuteness - If he's forced to be cute or do aegyo, he'll do it with so much reluctance that it'll look awkward and sometimes even creepy. But he can't help it. Even if he tries hard. He's just not cute.
» The videos from back in his days dancing are still in the www to be found and people keep using them to claim he's fake because back then he was a lot more bubbly and bright.
» He's allergic to cats.
» He doesn't use his social media often because he hates uploading stuff showing him being fake. And that's exactly what the entertainment wants from the members. So if he's active he avoids showing himself. When the other members upload videos and pictures of themselves, he's the one who uploads a photo of a building, a stone or the ground. The street in Japan looks so different from Korea! OMG!

background —
REACHING FOR THE STARS. Right from the cradle Minho has always been one to stand out in crowds. His bright personality, his out-going nature, it all was speaking for that one way - being someone on a stage. His parents soon figured Minho's interest in dancing, too and therefore let him start taking classes and his dance instructor recommended to his parents to let him take extra vocal and rapping classes as well so he could maybe get into the idol industry one day. Minho however hated singing. Even when he was young he didn't like doing girly stuff or anything that could be taken as cute or fake emotional. This boy was never good at faking feelings(or faking in general), always wishing to be able to stay true to himself. Seeing the potential in their son grow, though, his parents sold his soul signed him under an entertainment after his instructors all talked to them and convinced them to finally go for it.

THIS I'M OUT. The entertainment he eventually ended up with was BigHit. And it was a passionate love-hate relationship he had with it. Being told what to do, the double amount of stress AND the rivalry between the trainees never did good to him. Minho step by step distanced himself from the others and acted out as a complete rebel in the end. He started going against the vocal coaches, protested during dance classes - if he showed up even - and yelled at the rap teachers, calling them fake- idiots who rapped about unnecessary stuff that nobody wanted to listen to. He was done with all this . And when he was 16 he dropped out of the idol industry. He had enough of it. He had enoug of BigHit and Bang Sihyuk. And he had enough of his parents who still tried to appeal to his conscience. The day came when he blow up like a bomb and even insulted the BigHit CEO in front of the staffs and trainees because he couldn't stand it anymore. With 16 he threw his entire life away and choose the way of a buddhist monk hip hop artist in the underground. School? What is school? Yeah, this stupid idiot was so into his decision, that he even dropped out of school.

AND ON MY KNEES I'M BEGGING YOU. As you might already thought so far... Minho pretty much ed up his life. And for what? Well... he never made it big as a rapper, neither as a dancer. As a rapper he never made it far enough since the influence of the idol training had already anchored in the boy so much that he couldn't compete with any of those rappers who were out for others' blood with hardcore punch lines and hooks that had him crawling on the floor. As a dancer he was a standout but still... the dance studios all rejected hiring him because who wants someone working for them who doesn't even graduated from school? Plus, did you see all those tattoos? He looks as if he's no-good for anything. Responsible people look different. And when Minho had nothing left and was trying to find a way out of his misery, not even his parents were willing anymore to give him another chance. So what did 18-year old Minho do? He came back all the way to BigHit, begging on his knees to get a second chance. That was how Bang Sihyuk got himself his very own pet trainee. He saved Minho's life... but for what price?

trainee life at bighit —
BARKING DOGS THAT BITE. Puberty never had the best of Minho. 6 years of training at BigHit were hell to him. When he started at 10 he didn't know how to do something about it. After all he never wanted to be an idol. He wanted to be acknowledged as a musician or dancer, yes. But not if he had to turn into something he just wasn't. Why would you love someone who isn't his or her real self? Commercial handling and marketing had never made a good impression on Minho. And he never liked people telling him what was right and what was wrong. Why did he have to sing in a sad tone when he was as bright as a sunshine? Why did he have to rap about a girl he fell for when he'd never been in love? Why did they tell him to stop dancing the way he loved to dance? This was everything he DIDN'T want. And once he found the wrong friends at school, probably envious or just the classical bad influence, his pubery rage exploded in an emotional Hiroshima. And nobody was safe from this wave of anger. Even CEO Bang Sihyuk was hit by the wave of immense anger this boy had suppressed all those years. This wasn't even the worst thing. Ever heard of the BTS debut struggle 2010-2013 because they changed line-ups for around 3 years? Yepp. This fellow was one of those guys.

WITH A LEASH AND A MUZZLE. Nobody knows why Bang Sihyuk agreed to give Minho another chance. But one is for sure: He only gave him the chance under certain conditions. Simple conditions, people might say. But not to freelancer Minho. Hitman Bang made Minho sign an exclusive contract that contained the rules that Minho isn't to talk up against any staffs anymore, he has to comply to any decisions the entertainment makes, no matter what and he's not to ruin the group's reputation in any possible way. Simple, right? If you know Minho, though, you know that to him it's hell. Yet, this hell is better than living a life as jobless scum with no prospects for the future at all. Minho never wanted to be an idol. Here he stands now. What does this tell you? Yeah, maybe he's a loser. If he is, then it's his own fault, even. At least he tries to handle himself and figure out how to make the best of his situation. Even if that means that BigHit can do anything to him, no matter how humiliating it is. Want to shave his head? Good idea, why not? As Bang Sihyuk knows that this dog can't be tamed and would always try to bite its owner's hand he looks for any possible way making this boy suffer.

SOCIAL CIRCLE.

FAMILY
» Father, Bang Ryushin | 49 | doctor | strict, ambitious, pretends to care but obviously he doesn't | not on good terms.
Dropping out of school made sure that Minho officially dishonored the family.

» Mother, Gong Mina | 44 | housewife | bubbly, ambitious, pretends to care and maybe even does but doesn't act at all because her husband says no | not on good terms.
She might like to change it. But she doesn't. Thank you, daddy.

FRIENDS
» Best/Worst friend, Park Hyukjae | 21 | university student | one of the bad influences you should have stayed away from boy
Hyukjae was one of the persons that convinced Minho to basically drop out of everything. He didn't even mean to do anything good to Minho. He just wanted to see an aspiring idol to completely fail in life. And it worked. Because Minho truly thought that they're friends. And he still every now and then calls Hyukjae.

» Rapper Friend, Bloo | 23 | kind of nugu rapper | chill but also one of those typical rappers who want to be all about the thug life
Minho got to know Bloo when he tried becoming a rapper himself but the only one kind of being semi-successful of them was Bloo. Bloo thinks that Minho betrayed himself, crawling back to BigHit but he's the one to talk... at least he releases some tracks and can perform on stage.

OTHERS
» CEO  Bang Sihyuk | those two are like archenemies who have to get along somehow. And they do. Because Hitman Bang is the one in the stronger position in this.

My feelings are the most sincere.

opinion on the bighit boys — Seriously, Minho detests them with a passion. He doesn't like them and he doesn't want to get close with them. They're all spoiled, rotten brats, raised by that freaking Bang SiHyuk er. Screw him. And screw his little bastards.

opinion on the freelancers — Even though he doesn't want to connect with anyone, he has a soft spot for the freelancers. They're like him. Just... you know... free. But still, they're stupid enough to give up their freedom to be in shackles, obeying to BigHit. So, he's salty. But somehow those s still manage to make him care. Sometimes.

interview time !

"hey, please introduce yourself."

▪ "I'm Bang Minho. 22-years old. BigHit trainee.", he says and stares into the camera.

"what made you want to become an idol and why did you sign under bighit?"

▪ He remains a staring and somehow even starts glaring. He didn't sign to answer this question. Everyone in the company knew anyway. So why repeating it?

"do you think that you'd have the same chances as with bighit if you were signed under another company?"

▪ Ath that he laughes shortly... and then gives his even shorter answer. "No."

"what would you say is your biggest strength and your biggest weakness?"

▪ "My skills are my biggest strength. My personality my biggest weakness. Simple as that.".

"how far would you go to succeed in the show?"

▪ "How far will you make me?"

"what do you have that makes you a standout from all the other bighit trainees?"

▪ "This.", he says and points at his face. In fact he's not talking about his looks. He's talking about his death stare that is even competition to Bang SiHyuk's death stare.

"that's it so far. do you want to add anything else?"

▪ "No."

the one and only.

Main talent — Rapping/Dancing

Talent twins  —
Singing -  /
Dancing - 24k Jeonguk
Rapping - 24k Jeonguk

Strength —
Obviously, dancing. And rapping. He might be an idol rapper only but he manages to at least keep his technique on a level to compete with other BigHit trainees. Also his dancing is on point, otherwise he wouldn't have tried to become a dance instructor.

Weaknesses —
The thing that Minho is worst at is getting along with others as much as obeying to superiors. Usually. He'll do as long as he knows there's Bang Sihyuk waiting with his whiplash for this fella and he's not gonna mess up his life even more at this point. He'll not make a huge secret out of his anger and discontent however. And don't expect him to sing. Because he can't.
