mini-scenario thing (ft. jongdae and a dinosaur)

In which Jongdae is terrified of dinosaurs and you’re not.

Jongdae shoved you into the water, and you almost fell face-first in it. You shrieked, and proceeded to pull Jongdae down with you. Both of you collided, and unfortunately, Jongdae landed on you. You pushed yourself up, disgusted by the salty taste in your mouth as the aftermath of dunking in the sea.

Jongdae laughed at your misery, and you shot him a killer-glare that made him eat up his own words. His laughter slowly died down, replaced by the sound of waves crashing against one another. Both of you sat there quietly, legs submerged in the water. The sunset was extremely beautiful—the sky had a tinge of orange and yellow smeared across it, and at the far end of the beach, the sky was slowly getting dark. You enjoyed the cool feeling of the evening breeze, even though it was slightly too chilly for your liking. It didn’t matter, since Jongdae was there with you. You gave him a sideway glance, peeking at him. He seemed to be enjoying himself too. His eyes were closed, his hands propping himself up. His lips curved up to form a small smile, and you felt a familiar ache in your chest.

If only he knew…

“Had enough of staring?”

You snapped out of your reverie at the sound of his voice. Whatever you were thinking of was long gone, replaced by the sight of Jongdae’s smile and his voice. Your eyes scanned his face, and after a while, you smiled too.

Jongdae tilted his head. “What are you smiling at?”

You shook your head. “Nothing.”

Suddenly, the ground started shaking violently. A huge ripple was forming right before the two of you, and a hole formed in the middle of the sea. .

You groaned inwardly at the horrible timing. Jongdae got to his feet, taking a few steps back.

“W-What is that?” He slowly raised a finger to point in the direction of the ripple. You winced at the thought of having to explain everything. He didn’t seem to notice your discomfort, however, and his eyes remained fixated on the whirlpool.

A gigantic green head emerged from the whirlpool, followed by its neck that went on for ages, then its even larger body. The dinosaur rose to its full height in all its glory, and let out a low roar.

Goddamn it.

It was strangely silent next to you, and you frowned. You turned, and Jongdae was staring wide-eyed at the dinosaur. His mouth opened and closed as if he were a guppy, and his voice was shaky when he spoke.

“What the hell is….that?” He stuttered. You resisted the urge to just smack yourself on the face.

“Look, Jongdae, just stand back—”

The dinosaur let out a deafening roar that drowned out the rest of your words, and Jongdae screamed.

Screamed, as in high-pitched, girly-screamed. It caught the dinosaur’s attention, and it cocked its head towards your direction. Well, .

“We have to go!” Jongdae begged as he grabbed onto your arm tightly. You grimaced at the pressure he was exerting on your arm, and tried to pry his hands off but they wouldn’t budge. He wouldn’t budge.

The dinosaur started advancing in the direction of the both of you, and you panicked. If Jongdae didn’t let go of your arm now, both of you were doomed. With a capital ‘D’. In bold and italics.

Each step the dinosaur took sent the ground vibrating. It loomed over the both of you, and its huge figure blocked out the light of the evening sun. You felt slightly empty as the orange circle vanished behind the enormous boulder that was the dinosaur, but quickly forgot about it. You stared into its eyes, putting on your fiercest gaze.

Jongdae was whimpering beside you like some terrified puppy. Which he was. Terrified. Not a puppy. You could literally feel him trembling in fear, and his grip slackened. You quickly shook it off to pull it out, but the dinosaur took the opportunity to seize hold of Jongdae. Its long green tail coiled around Jongdae’s thin frame, circling around his waist and hoisting him up into the air.

“No!” You yelled.

Jongdae was ten times more scared than you though. As soon as his feet left the ground, he began shrieking.

"You slimy worm, get away from Jongdae!" you say, beating the beast with a broken twig. Jongdae screamed wildly, arms flailing as he shrieked, "GET IT AWAY FROM MEEE"

The dinosaur looked contented with Jongdae as its hostage, and let out a satisfied grunt. It turned around and stomped away, sending the ground shaking again.

You groaned in frustration. It just had to turn out this way. Unwillingly, you started to chase after the dinosaur into the sea, with a ball of blue flames crackling in one hand and your sword in another hand.
