Second Opinion About Graphics (Image Plagiarism)

Well because SOMEBODY deleted my original comment I'm gonna make a blog post for everyone to see :)

While I no longer do things with Photoshop, it never sat right with me when somebody changed one thing about an image and called it theirs. And it's funny when I can Google search the image and it looks SO MUCH like the original that the original is a result lmao. Graphics from poster shops never come up like that.

So here's the poster in question:

My first thought was "that looks familiar" so let's just reverse image search:

Oh look, the original image.

I may be wrong, but changing LITERALLY ONE THING AND SLAPPING YOUR NAME ON IT DOES NOT MAKE IT YOURS.

And he deleted my comment, which I pointed out he changed one thing and linked the original image and told him to do more to ACTUALLY make it his.

So what's your opinion on the matter?

Edit: so I've been called an because of this post, and his "friends" are telling him it's okay, which it's not.

I was definitely about to call him out on his bull but I saw a lot of defenders and I was like "welp whatever." but now I deeply regret not calling him out sooner. As a 'graphic designer' on AFF (although I just do it for fun and not as an actual job), it's pretty hard not to call my own self a 'plagiarizer' as I've used different people's photography and textures to make posters. So that could have been a reason for the defenders, as we too are not as clean when it comes to crediting other people's works. But this was honestly just flat out visible plagiarism... like anyone would know that all he did was tweak one picture into a background that he claimed he made himself. Sorry, but most of the people on this site don't exactly 'claim' their graphics; we never say that we 'made' the background unless we actually took a picture for it. Idk why he's still making accounts on this site... he should go to school or something

Ontop of that, when you talk to him he doesn't listen... I'm usually pretty patient, and I AM one of his friends, but if he doesn't listen to me he deserves all the hate he brings on himself. I tried explaining it because I am one of the older members of AFF. I'm 28 years old, a bit too old to spend all my time writing, but I love it. My passions. Anyway, I tried talking to him and get nothing but BS back from him saying 'he understands' but he doesn't. He's 14 and he's trying to be something online without any real talent to speak of quite yet. He's developing it in the wrong ways and trying to take credit for others work. He needs to realize his actions are pissing people off. Sad truth is, I don't think he cares. He just wants attention...

I'm actually a bit annoyed. At first I defended him thinking people were bullying him, now I see that he does what he wants (Has done it in the past) and when you talk to him he feigns depression / suicide threats to get attention then then apologizes and says he won't do it again. I'm not usually a but I feel like exposing him for his BS is the best way to explain what's going on... He did lie, and uses a cover to say he's not.

I knew it! When i first saw his poster., i had a doubt that he made it.. Now i came to know the truth. He will not change. We have to stop his plagiarizing. It is going out of hand. Can you by any chance, check his other posters? See if he really made that posters or not.

I agree with you completely. And the amdact that he deleted your comment just shows he knows what he did, but he doesn't care because he likes the fame it gives him. Smh

I know which poster you're talking about because I've seen it before on AFF, but I never thought of that. I indeed think that's plagiarism. You just can't simply do that and call it yours. It's just like how designers on here don't allow requesters to edit their work.
