funny story, i originally had chosen the plotline of "dive in, head first", but sing that plot is now taken i had to change up my application. you can probably see some of the little remains of that original choice lmao. so if something doesn't quite add up  and seems like it leans towards that plotline more, that why.
please let me know if anything doesn't make sense or is incorrect and i'll get right onto fixing it!.
oki, so i'm like, soooo happy someone ma-de an exo applyfic. i was thinking like, "damn i haven't seen an exo centered applyfic in a awhile, have they all died or something??" but thankfully i found your story, and i'm super excited! #thankyou-formakinganexoapplyfic love you <3 <3

so i know that yuju is actually really young, like just turn 20 years old  young, but i feel better with using her because it's a detective/crime/mystery story ra-ther than like anything super mature in that way. however if you definitely don't  feel comfortable please feel free to use my backups ( which is why i gave two. )

good luck on the story! fighting!

scene requests:
maybe some sweet moments with the detectives and the exo members. ( like i know the story is kind of serious and sp00ky but it could be fun right?? ;;; )
haeun and yixing are having a mock fight and someone actually get hurt (because you gotta have the angst of one of the love interest taking care of the other you know what i mean /wink-wink nudge-nudge/ again, joking)
honestly, something super dramatic and/or traumatic happens to one of the characters because character development.

password: omg i don't even remember honestly, it's been so long, i think it was either this one or this one lol

Personality traits:
( pos. ) honest, reliable, passionate, supportive, adaptive
( neu. ) serious, independent, blunt, lowkey-savage
( neg. ) ruthless, quick tempered, rude, prideful, obsessive

personality:
do haeun is a serious and hard-working person who once she has her mind set on something, you can't change it. she's stubborn and persistent at what she does and won't ever rest until it's good and done. she's known to become obsessive and will get engrossed into her work for days on end. she's very serious in what she does; and nothing you say can change that. if you try and cross her, prepare yourself, for she can be brutal and shatter egos if she's in the mood.

She's ruthless, rude, and one-hundred and twenty percent honest. If there's something she doesn't like about you, she's going to say it whether you like it or not. Though you'd think that someone so honest would at least have the decency to be polite but this girl has no bounds. She will verbally point out the things you deeply wish she didn't. She has no intention of being a bully or a put down, she just doesn't wait to think about other's feelings. although that's usually only if she gets heated, in a normal conversation she can be just as brutal, on a smaller, lower scale of course, but you'll walk away from a conversation with her, suddenly realizing that she just threw a huge blow to your ego.

throughout her years, haeun has learned to accept things quickly, adapt and move on. she has yet to understand that not everyone else works the same way, and will have very high expectations for herself and those around her. she relies heavily on those around her to do their part so that she can do hers. that being said, she can be overly trusting and those around her can let her down a lot. because of this, she chooses her friends group very wisely; only sticking with those who are serious about themselves and what they do. she has high respect for people who have a passion for something and will support them fully. she takes great pride in what she does, fighting for the greater good of Seoul and all, and won't stand for anything childish.

background:
up until haeun was in high school, haeun lived a comfortable life with her father, mother, and beloved older brother namjae. haeun looked up to her her brother like any younger sibling, and learned to take any punches he threw at her. as children they roughhoused very often and had mock fights just for fun. their parents feared that they would get themselves into trouble, so haeun was put into martial arts with her brother and challenged each other to see who would earn their blackbelt first. ( it was her in case you were wondering. )

when she was sixteen, her older brother, was murdered by an unknown killer. the police never found the culprit, suspecting that they had fled the country and eventual-ly dropped case. enraged that her parents simply let their son and her brother's killer go so easily, haeun vowed to herself to bring justice to her brother. since then, she's been obsessed with finding her brother's killer and followed all news reports on murders to find clues but had never found any real links.

after graduating high school she went to law school with the intention to become a police officer so that she would be able to deal with the killer herself, believing that she would finally be able to put her martial arts into good use. she had a three-month internship with the law enforcement area of the seoul police department. a year after completion she had a seasonal job with the seoul police department in the detectives unit, due to there being little job opportunities in the officers department, that turned to a full-time job after she finished college.

within the first year working at the detectives unit of the seoul pd, she personally re-opened the case involving her brother. she found a link between two other cold cases  in china involving young college age men around the age of nineteen and twenty. with the help of the other detectives she was able to catch the culprit and put him behind bars for life and let her late brother finally rest.

relationships:
father | do jyeonmin | 58 | insurance man
haeun wasn't close to her father, but she never hated him. jyeonmin wasn't around home very often either due to his busy work life so the two of them didn't have much interaction to begin with. following namjae's death, jyeonmin and haeun bonded a lot more and became closer while still having their boundaries.

mother | maeng yeona | 61 | college professor
the two of them bonded like most women would, but kept their distance, making sure that the mother-daughter roles were very apparent. yeona was taught to keep her feelings and thoughts to herself and so she never talked to haeun in that way. she was also the most hard on haeun to get good grades. If haeun ever failed yeona's expectations, haeun would get a mouth full of harsh words and disapline. after namjae's death, yeona became even more distant from the family to the point where neither haeun or her father would hear from yeona for a few days. haeun was ultimately bothered by yeona's behavior and grew to resent her mother because of that. haeun still loves her mother, but because she refuses to talk about her own son's death, she can hardly bare to look at yeona or talk to her.

older brother | do namjae | 20 ( at time of death) | claimed to be a college student
out of the whole family, haeun loved and admired namjae the most. with a four year difference there were some things that haeun didn't understand about him, but nevertheless, still loved him dearly. he never treated her badly and stood up for her if she was ever picked on. she was devastated when she learned her was murdered, and cried endlessly for weeks. to say she's moved on would be a lie. she'll at times go through his old thing and look through pictures of him just to jog her memories if she ever forgot, which she highly doubts she will anytime soon.
LIFE UP UNTIL DEATH: NAMJAE WAS INVOLVED IN A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP WITH AN OLDER MAN WHO WAS INFAMOUSLY KNOW FOR HIS WEALTH AND POPULARITY IN THE BLACK MARKET. NAMJAE WAS UNAWARE OF THE MAN'S INVOLVEMENT WITH THE BLACK MARKET AND WAS INVOLVED WITH HIM FOR MONEY. IN THE END, NAMJAE WAS STABBED TO DEATH BY HIS PARTNER AFTER HAVING WITH THEM AND WAS LATER FOUND A FEW HOURS LATER BY HIS FRIEND JEONGHWAN.

friend | han jeonghwan | 27 | manager at some store
jeonghwan was the closest person to namjae after haeun and has been traumatized since the incidence with the murder of namjae.  haeun and him grew closer by talking about and mourning over the passing of namjae. however they've lost tabs with each other after haeun graduated high school and went to college.

co-worker and friend | jeon sohee | 27 |  detective in seoul police department
sohee was welcoming to haeun when she first started her internship at the flower detectives, which she appreciated greatly.  after haeun graduated college and settled in with a full-time job in the flower detectives they grew closer along with the other detectives. sohee took notice of haeun's passion and was thankful of how serious she was in law enforcement and her work in general. there have been rifts between them because of haeun's harsh attitude and rudeness, but it was usually because haeun said something to jae that hurt his feelings and sohee was left trying to pull them back together.

co-worker | ahn jaewon | 24 | detective in seoul police department
to haeun, jae can be an annoying little . she gets pissed when he slacks off or complains about working which irks her even more because of her love for getting things done. if nothing is said they get along fine but as soon as he starts complaining she's ready to give him a mouth full. however she appreciates that he still plays nice with the others and doesn't cause any troubles other that irking the out her sometimes. to sum them up, they're like brother and sister in which the sister hates her brother and gives him hell but still appreciates and loves him.

co-worker | yang taeha
 | 25 | detective in seoul police department
out of all the other detective in the department, taeha gives haeun the least amount to trouble. maybe it's because they're similar in attitude but haeun admires their determination and ability to get things done quickly and efficiently. haeun has high respect for them and worries the least about them ing up.

co-worker | tba ( pl : absolutely breathtaking ) | tba | detective in seoul police department
haeun's biggest problem with them is that they don't do their own dirty work. while she respects their ability to talk slick, she simply doesn't agree with their methods since haeun believes work should be done by your own hands and not by someone else's. but she still respects their independence.

co-worker | tba ( pl : whats the plan? ) | tba | detective in seoul police department
to haeun, there's not really anything wrong with them. she finds that they're quite nice and sweet to say the least but waht she can't stand about them is how cautious they are about what they say and/or do and when the others try to soothe their nerves, it becomes tiring for haeun. because haeun's not the type to constantly pickup someone she tends to just avoid them if they're in an unstable or just crappy mood. but they're still her leader so she'll follow through whatever they hand to her and she'll fulfill it with excellence so that that they stop worrying so much. although they can have some rifts when they find haeun's brash words to be too much, they find some kind of middle ground, but not without feelings hurt.

co-worker | tba ( pl : money makes people crazy ) | tba | detective in seoul police department
first impressions were very rough when haeun met them. she had obviously thought that they were stuck-up snobs with everything that they wanted. haeun was very cold towards them and criticized them for the simple fact that they came form a well off background. however as time went on haeun learned how cautious they were when spending their money and cut them some slack after learning that. haeun had always liked how they were able to pull their weight though for a "rich kid".

co-worker | tba ( pl : young and reckless ) | tbs | detective in soeul police department
as for the youngest member of the flower detectives, haeun was a little uneasy. she knew a lot of people favored them but that's never stopped her from putting them in their place. (not really though) as of now, haeun is still getting used to them, but loves them for their passion and enthusiasm in the law field. to be honest, she sees a lot of herself in them, just not as sensitive. their sensitivity is what irritates haeun the most because they'll become so easily hurt or emotional it's tiresome for her.
UNFAIR

Love interest: zhang yixing
Back-up: kim jongdae

personality traits:
( pos. ) easy-going, humorous, conversationalist
( neg. ) stubborn, ego-centric, aloof, persistent

personality:
yixing's outward attitude gives off a quite, laid back, even aloof vibe. though quite serious actually, because of language barriers he's become more on the quiet side. if he's with friends or family that speak chinese he's a lot more talkative and can hold a conversation very well. he can even be silly, usually cracking cheesy dad-like jokes with a predictable punchline, but even then, it's hard not to laugh just a little. while he's in his element all jokes disappear and he's a frightening machine that will plow through anything that gets in his way.

he can get very head strong, and won't back down from a challenge handed to him. he does claim to be a pacifist, but other records prove otherwise. his reputation is something of very high value to him and he'll jump through hoops just to keep it up. his ego isn't weak though and will bite back if provoked in anyway. however, yixing is very forgiving, and will even be forgetful at times if it was something small. he doesn't possess a high temper and can take a long while to really fire up into rage, but he still packs a heavy punch if pushed too far.

first meeting:
during haun's personal project of tracking down her brother's killer, haeun's guilty culprit was being guarded by yixing. she had required to go undercover at a social party to get close to her target and brought jae along to sell the affect of a rich couple attending a high end social gathering. ( but he was mostly just there to place the handcuffs on her guy. ) when yixing noticed haeun, he immediately thought her as suspicious, thinking she was a thief of some sort and followed her around during her snooping. she knew one of the bodyguards were watching but didn't care to give it any attention.

he was later genuinely shocked when she flashed her police badge at him as she requested to pass through a private area where his client was, and that she had a warrant for his client's arrest for a murder way back in 2010. he thought it hilarious that the all mighty seoul pd sent a tiny girl to arrest an old man anf found her almost cute. seeing yixing laugh at the situation boiled haeun blood resulting her to draw her gun at him as a threat. taking things seriously now, yixing fought back against haeun, learning she packed a hard punch against him, which made him find haeun even more intrriging to him. after all weapons were dropped and some damage done to irreplaceable items, yixing let her go.

to keep haeun in his sights however, yixing insisted he stay with his client throughout the inter-rogation, claiming it was due to contract reasons. during the questioning yixing learned the depth of the situation and developed an even bigger liking towards haeun. he was close to being arrested though, but was left off the hook since he wasn't apart of the actual murder.

after the case was finally closed for good, yixing stuck around for a bit and tried to get to know haeun better. he tried to crack a few jokes, and asked her questions about her personal life but haeun was quick to shut him down. she was married to her work after all, and didn't have time to fool around with a criminal socially labeled as a, "hitman".

interactions:
history:
since their first meeting, they didn't see each other for months, mostly just because haeun was literally working twenty-four seven at the office and not on the field. it would be a lie to say that she completely forgot about the awkward Chinese boy who tried to ask for her number and to grab a drink. she thought him as cheesy and cringed every time one of his lame jokes popped into her head. but as the city's death rates began to increase dramatically by a new group of serial killers, she became engrossed in her work that the only time she should about yixing was  if she slept ( which was hardly ever. ) after teaming up with the hitmen group exo, things got awkward again very quickly. she was teamed up with yxing for the simple fact that haeun could speak remote chinese and had once expressed the desire to learn it more. once.

she found him handsome sure, but annoying nonetheless because he distracted her from her work. due to his laid back nature he had continuously pushed haeun to loosen up and take a break, but not without a fight. there were countless rifts because of their clashing personalities. but when he wasn't around she found that all she could think about was him, and had difficulty focusing on her work. infuriated she dove herself deeper into her work and for a while, didn't allow anyone or anything take her attention away. however something pulled her back and she found that she caught feelings for him too.

feelings:
she likes his awkwardness and how he was excitable enough but not off the walls, bat crazy. she likes that he fights back when she makes insults towards him. hell, she's even fell for that stupid dimple on his cheek. however she hates herself for it and it follows her everywhere. during work her hair will shed because the amount of times she's pulled her hair up and out of a bun due to stress from thinking about him. she's caught herself getting excited and nervous about working with him and that she'll stumble on her words if she talks about him.

YiXING HAD NEVER FORGOTTEN ABOUT THE GIRL HE MET who had the strength to pin him to the ground and then ARRESTED HIS OWN CLIENT WHILE HE WAS STILL ON DUTY. YET HE STILL FELL FOR HER PASSION, AND WITTY COMEBACKS. he likes to spark friendly debates with her and enjoys listening to her speak about anything and everything. he loves watching her when she's focused and finds it entertaining when she gets stressed out and puts her hair in and out of messy buns after buns.

relationship:
In some weird, twisted way, yixing reminds haeun of her brother. she would never look up to a criminal, but they would have mock fights and challenge each other in small things like who could drink their tea the fasteset. he asks her trivial, rhetorical questions like how her brother  would back when they were growing up that would usually end up confusing her. yixing even teases her if she said something weird that doesn't make sense just how namjae did. she also feels that yixing has the same strength to him as her brother did, which is so comforting to her, she'll get confused sometimes as to if it's really her brother or not. a good thing though is that even though yixing might have some similarities with her brother, he's able to make haeun forget about her seemingly never-ending grief and he has helped her move on more and more each time the topic of namjae comes up.

if yixing were to be honest, and he most often is, he wouldn't mind being in a romantic relationship with haeun, in fact, he fantasizes it sometimes and will wonder about what they would be like if they were to date.  However, they both have the mentality of "work comes first" which has hindered them to really grow close in that way. as much as he would like to date haeun, if something were to go wrong in their relationship, he would rather them be just friendly co-workers than romantic partners.

for haeun, she would be lyin got herself if she said that she didn't think about yixing in a romantic way every now and again. even if she gets easily engrossed in work, when things die down for a bit, her mind will usually wonder to that place. she'll dodge the question of whether she likes him or not, in fear that her image will then be deemed unprofessional for falling for a co-worker, however she's at the point of if he ever did say anything along the lines of, "would you like to go on a date." she would most-likely say yes and be willing to start a relationship when they're both ready.
