Planning to make a murder mystery story

Ever since I read 'A Murderer has awakened' by Jasminon51073, I decided to create a story that is based on that story(Same plot, same killer and victim, but different point of view and it is my OC's story) but I'm scared to do it as it may consider as plagiarism and my first time doing this, any tips on how to prevent plagiarism?

Yeah, like MatchaGreenTea has stated, with what you describe, you basically are taking that person's universe that they've created and want to use it, which definitely seems like a no go lol. You could just create your own murder mystery, but If you really want to do what you say, you should hit up the author and ask them if it is ok for you to do that, writing the same story from a different point of view, before doing anything any of the sort.

I suggest that you contact the author to gain her permission first because you're basically writing a spin off from her fanfiction! Inform her that you will credit her for inspiration and leave a link to her fanfiction in your story's foreword. If she say no, then I suggest not to publish its then because your story may get report.
