Books I enjoyed reading this summer

Alright, so I only got into reading books like 4/3 years ago (I used to read only fanfics) and I'm a very slow reader. But, in order to battle my depression, I wanted to do what I love the most and that includes reading. So, I did some reading this summer, and decided to share the books I really enjoyed:

1/ One Of Us is Lying By Karen M. McManus

ONE OF US IS LYING

This book kept me interested all the way and I really enjoyed every second of it. The writing was great, it wasn't tedious as I've expected (because a lot of famous writers, I've noticed, take up a whole chunk of the book going on about useless details and desciptions that are just boring) But McManus does a wonderful job with the writing and the plot in general. I also really liked the major development of the characters in this book (especially Abby). Recommened to those looking for an exciting read!

2/The hating game By Sally Thorne:

hating game

This was incredibly sweet in the most delightful way possible. Best part? The guy is not some major jerk! and The main girl is full of surprises! what are the odds!

Really, this book surprised me by how much I liked it, and I have to give it to Miss Thorne for writing such likable characters. I'm also a er for well written hate-to-love type of romance so this was just perfect for me.

3/Also Known As By Robin Benway:

AKA

This is the type of book I wish I read in middle school and grew up with because it's just so adorable and cute and has one of the best characters I've ever read about!

Great parents! (with the bad parents syndrom going on in the YA genre, it was refreshing to read about awesome parents)

Badass protagonist (The best friend was a badass too) and a sweet love interest (seriously, who said nice guys finish last?I LOVE NICE GUY WE NEED MORE NICE GUYS IN BOOKS)

4/ North of Beautiful By Justina Chen:

north of beautiful

This, I believe, is an important book. It was a bit slow at the beginning but it was slow paced for a reason, and the female protagonist was, in my opinion, likable (SPOILER: so yeah, the only thing I didn't like about her was the fact she kissed another guy while she had a boyfriend)

The love interest was yet again a nice guy! ( Did I mention I love nice guys?)

I didn't have major issues with this book (except the spoiler I mentioned above) it had a strong message and the right characters to carry it.

5/ Simon Vs the homo sapiens agenda By Becky Albertalli:

WARNING: If you're a homophobe, this book ain't for you

Wow, I liked this better than I thought. I found myself smiling as the ending was nearing.

One word to describe this book: Fun. You won't even notice how many pages you've read becaue of how fun it is. Simon was a great protagonist and I liked his friends.

So yeah, these were the books That I enjoyed this summer, if anyone has a book recommendation for me, let me know :)

Have a lovely day~
