I want to Change my Lifestyle
It's 6:30 in the morning. I can't get to sleep. I slept over 10 hours last night after taking some night quill and it messed up my sleep schedule. (I usually sleep about 7 to 8 hours) So I decided to type a blog since I'm probably gonna be up for a while.
I want to change my lifestyle.
I was going to call this change a diet. But it isn't a diet because those are temporary. And I've tried to go on "diets" and they didn't work. A lifestyle is long term and that is what I want. I want to become more in tune with my body. I want to have balance. I want to feel well. Lately, I've been into spirituality. I'm not religious, but I believe that everything has a place and I need to find my flow.
Before I start with what I want to change, I will start with what I have already done and what I am proud of.
For one, I haven't gained weight. I returned the same weight I left and it makes me happy that I haven't gained the freshman 15 pounds.
I haven't eaten pork in over 6 months. It wasn't really for a health reason. It was just that I stopped eating ham a while ago and started getting veggie pizzas in stead of pepperoni. And then I decided to get rid of pork completely because I didn't really eat it that much anyway.
I drink more water. I stopped drinking soda years ago and I developed a habit of drinking bottled teas, which have so much sugar. So I started drinking more water and I recently started drinking unsweetened teas. I'm gradually eating less sugar.
I eat less fast food and fried foods. I noticed that I felt a little sick to my stomach when I would eat fast food, especially fried food so I decided to eat less of it. (I still eat it kinda frequently but it's still less than before) And if I wanted fried foods I would cook them myself.
These are little things but I think my body works better with little changes. And I think these changes helped me maintain a constant weight even through the stress and temptations at school.
Here's what I want to do in the short term and/or long term future.
Eat less red meat. I don't eat pork but I would like to eat less red meat. I don't think I'll cut it out completely though.
Eat less dairy. Icecream is my favorite sweet treat but I want to find dairy free alternatives because dairy makes me bloated. I currently drink soy milk instead of dairy milk.
Eat more veggies. I eat a lot of fruit but I don't eat a lot of vegetables.
Start meditating or doing yoga. I want to start working out on a regular basis but I think meditation will be good for my mind and body.
Most importantly, I want to have balance. That is my ultimate goal.
:)
